I think his Dad enjoys hearing it again too.5A Piece of Our Daughter's HistoryA copy of this CD was in a gift basket that I received after our daughter was born in 1991. It was played so often that I had to purchase another a couple of years later. It is sweet and happy and has such a soothing effect on babies and frazzled Moms. Our daughter loved it and insisted on listening to it before going to sleep EVERY time for years! I had played it since she was a newborn and it became a part of her personal history. I recently purchased copies for a couple of her friends who were expecting, thinking they might love it as much as she had and they do! (I also purchased a copy in anticipation of a future grandchild, though no time soon, to continue the tradition.) I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a baby gift or for their own personal use in the nursery or car.5A CD WE WILL NEVER FORGETI love love love this CD. I bought the original in 1996 when I was pregnant with my oldest son. I have since bought it for many baby shower gifts and just purchased 2 more copies to give each of my sons for their future families because they love it so much. They each have wonderful memories of going to sleep to this CD and of me singing the songs to them when they were babies (and even in the womb). The songs are relaxing and fun and there is also an instrumental version of each so that you can sing the songs without singing over the original artist. Now that my kids are in their teens, we listened to the CD the other day and they had so much fun talking about their memories and which songs were their favorites. I think it is a must-have CD for any family.5It's truly special and from reading reviews I understand there is a much cheaper version with multiple artists that is good, butThese lullabies sung by Tanya provide a very soothing for adults and infants and all in-between. I bought this for one pregnant friend and now the daughter she bore uses the same tape (I think it was a tape) for her baby! And I just bought it for a young cousin. Puts kids (and adults) to sleep quickly! I first got this 29 years ago with a mother goose lamp. Used it on my daughter, put her to sleep every time. I still use it to day for my grandson, I even have it on my phone and Kindle - so when we are camping or anywhere that I don't have a cd player I can still play it. At least, from what I can tell from the descriptions of the two versions of this CD, the ~$9 version is "various artists." The more expensive--and better CD, IMO--is sung by Tanya Goodman only. The CD version of her songs is what we were given almost 10 years ago at our daughter's baby shower. It's the version I *thought* I'd been giving as gifts to every new mom I know. Today, as I was sending this CD to another new mom-to-be, I realized the cheaper version is "various artists." Now, these singers my be fine performers, but I can't imagine listening to these songs sung by anyone other than Ms. Goodman. The lullabyes are beautifully written, but her voice is a huge reason we love this lullabye CD more than any other. I think it's worth the extra money--and extra delivery time--to go with the best. Beautiful Music!5Best Lullabies Recording of All Times!This has got to be the best lullabies recording of all times! I obtained my first copy 20 years ago. Between 2 children and 3 grandchildren we have worn out 3 cassettes and one CD. When my children were little I'm not sure who it put to sleep faster, me or the girls! Twenty years later it still has the same effect.Now for the useful information: The lullabies are soothing. There are a few songs that have some brighter tones but not so jarring as to wake a drowsy child. The first half has vocals; the second half is of the same songs but only instrumental. The words for the songs make sense and are not annoying if they run through your head the next day. They are clearly articulated and most songs are easy to remember. The songs are played in keys that are relativity easy to sing along with if you are so inclined.This is my go to nighttime CD and these are my favorite lullabies to sing to tired babies.5
