    A "Fun" Christmas CD That Will Make You Smile from Start to FinishAbove all, this is a Christmas album that is fun. It will make you smile. If you are looking for classic Christmas songs sung in a classical manner, look elsewhere.Need proof? Kacey included two songs that have rarely been recorded by major artists since the original versions hit the airwaves in the 50's -- both of which are certainly novelty Christmas songs. First, she took on "Christmas Don't Be Late", also known as the Chipmunk Song. She does a great job with it and makes you wonder why so few major artists have covered it since it came out in 1958.Even more of a stretch, she covers "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas", sung originally by Gayle Peevy in 1953. It's a silly song, but Kacey makes it work - at least to my ears. Though you will see why others may have stayed away from covering this.If fun is what you're after for your Christmas album, you include those songs. "O Holy Night", they aren't. But there is no shortage of Christmas albums that offer those hymns. She hits more familiar songs along the way, too: Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Let It Snow, Feliz Navidad, Rudolf, etc. So don't get the idea the album doesn't hit on lots of songs you know and love.I like this CD a lot. Kacey could have done a 'me too' Christmas collection, but she didn't. Her approach paid off.5Fresh and Fun!!Recently discovered Kacey Musgraves! I bought this for my husband, so I got to hear it too :) She has a wonderful voice and put together an interesting collection of songs. She has some guests singing with her and they all sound like they are having fun in the recording studio. You can "hear" their smiles as they sing! It is not a traditional Christmas album, but I have plenty of those. This was fresh and fun, with songs you know, and will put a spring in your step! Enjoy!5Great Christmas cd by Kacey Musgraves!!!.....This Kacey Musgraves Christmas cd is great! It's a great mix of traditional Christmas music with a few new ones she wrote herself! It has 12 songs in all on this cd. Her voice is outstanding on here, my favorite song has to be Ribbons & Bows on this Christmas cd! All songs on this cd are done in Kacey's own style - she does a great job! I would recommend A Very Kacey Christmas to anyone that ask me about buying it! I think lots of people will really enjoy this Christmas cd!4Another good one from Kacey!I'm a big Christmas music junkie, but a lot of holiday music has a melancholy, plaintive tone. Christmas makes us all cry, like the song says.Not Kacey! This vintage-tinged collection brings something sorely lacking to the Christmas genre: FUN! It's almost as much of a kick as one of her shows, without the twinkling lights and hot pants.I was won over by the tons of fun instrumentation (whistling, accordion, bells, organ) and clear, crisp vocals that make Kacey sound like she's singing from right inside my Victrola. Plus, Hawaiian and mariachi sounds add variety. It's a playful, fun record that's gonna light up my holiday parties for many years to come.It's such a nice break from the soaring power ballads, hip hop adaptations, and medieval dirges I usually hear (and also love) around Christmastime, and I think it's an essential addition to any well-rounded Christmas collection. FUN! Plus, AWESOME guests like Willie Nelson, the Quebe sisters, and Nathaniel Smith.5Buy now!!! She s climbing the charts!!Kacey in concert mentioned her Christmas album, and being that my wife LOVES her childhood memories of listening to her moms favorite, Patsy Cline, so I absolutely wanted to gift this to her. We just put up our Christmas Tree with our boys listening to Kacey, and now they will forever remember listening to THEIR moms favorite!!! Kacey is such a great gift to country music!!Highly, HIGHLY recommend this. What a great album5Definitely worth the wait :)I used to manage a record store (that's right vinyl), and I'm a huge Kacey fan. So when I saw this combo I was in heaven. That plus the fact that there was going to be a limited colored edition... omg, the record geek in me is back! Well the first round sold out, ugh.. but she tweeted that a second batch would be on sale a couple days before it went up so I made sure to get one that time around!Now it sits happily with my other records, I doubt I'll ever play it.. but the collector in me is happy!5Excellent AlbumThis is now one of my favorite Christmas albums. She has a beautiful voice and does a great job at singing several Christmas classics with her own style without straining too far away from what made them classics in the first place.5You'll love this Christmas CDI love her voice and band + this CD definitely deserves a 5 star! I love the songs she put on this CD. Some of her own, which are excellent and the other songs, known for years are top notch! The song which is fun to listen to is MELE KALIKIMAKA. She really does a good job singing that song! Then CHRISTMAS MAKES ME CRY and PRESENT WITHOUT A BOW will become everybody's favorite once you hear them!5Fire up a log and pour the eggnog!I was introduced to Kacey Musgraves' music this past July (2016) and instantly fell in love with her gorgeous voice and extremely well-written songs. I've not historically been a fan of country music, but her talent transcends genres. As soon as I saw this on Amazon, it immediately found its way into my cart. The cover alone reminded me so much of the classic Christmas albums of my childhood (Mitch Miller, Bing Crosby, etc.), that I just had to take the chance. Suffice it to say that this LP got HEAVY rotation in my household this Christmas season. Do yourself a favor and add this gem to your collection!5Signature sound without the signature signature...This album is incredible. Miss Musgraves has consistently delivered on her two major label albums and this one is no differerent. This particular printing is cast in gorgeous green vinyl to boost its already high Holiday appeal.My only complaint was that this was supposed to be a "signed" copy and mine was delivered sans signature.3
