Customer Reviews
One Happy Customer with New Shears!!I'm happy with my purchase. They came in the mail today and I put them right to use. Very sharp and cut very cleanly. My only complaint is they're hard on the hands, but that's my problem as I'm an older gal and my hands are not what they use to be. I like the Allary products and purchase them when I need them....I even visited their web page! Thank you Allary. I was NOT given anything for my review, I was happy to make it. :D5Pleased
I was looking for pinking shears that wouldn't be expensive as I wouldn't use them often. These had good reviews. I found them to be very sharp & easy to use for my sewing project. I am very pleased with my purchase. However, I have to say they are bulky & a bit heavy. If you need to use them extensively or have a problem with your hands these may not be good for you. Otherwise, I'd recommend them as a good deal.
5Wow! Whoop!
Omg omg! These scissors are FABULOUS! Quality made. Not heavy to me and cuts really easy through Jean fabric, as well as quilt fabrics. Money well spent. Thank You! Would highly recommend to y'all. Buying another pair.
5Great shearsWas hesitant because of the negative reviews, but mine work perfectly. Sharp and easy to cut. Would recommend5Same Ol' ShearsI was hoping these would allow me to make more than a one inch cut on some wool fabric, but it chewed it up if I tried to make a two inch cut. I haven't found any pinking shears that would be sharp enough to not chew up my fabric. They weren't too stiff like some, but they were still "pinking shear" stiff. Regular scissors have nothing to worry about--easier to just stitch along the edge for keep things from raveling, but some projects I still have to use shears.3USELESS. SERIOUSLY USELESS. I'll keep lookingI don't know if I got a odd one, but something isn't right with these. Only just over 1 inch cuts well, not toward the tip, not toward the handle. :( Pretty much useless. I'm looking for another brand to buy.UPDATE: 04/11/2016 - I had put these away because they were annoying and useless. I forgot about that and just tried to use them againUSELESS. To the trash they go, I wouldn't even donate these for some other person to waste their money on. :(1Work well, great for the price!I almost didn't buy these after I read the one-star review, but I really needed a pair and didn't want to spend a ton of money. (I can't understand why pinking shears are so expensive!). I am really glad I gave these a try. I don't know if the other reviewer got a defective pair or if the design was changed, but these are plenty sharp and I haven't had any issues with fabric tearing. I also don't consider these lightweight - these are thick, solid and hefty enough to get the job done without my killing my hands. Other pairs I've used required a great deal of hand strength to cut, these are almost as easy to use as regular scissors. I've used them on thick upholstery-weight velvet fabric, regular cotton fabric and lightweight satin - all with equally excellent results. The only two (very) minor issues I've found: I am unable to open these fully, but for someone with larger hands or longer fingers, this may not be an issue. Also, there is no padding to the handles, so a lot of cutting can cause minor fatigue, but nothing bad. Not worth deducting a star - especially for the price. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and would gladly buy these again. Great deal!5Really goodThis is a really good, heavy, well-made pinking shears. I probably won't need to buy another one for years.5Sharp for FabricsNice and much sharper than expected. Great for cutting fabric5Thrilled with this purchase!I ignored the negative reviews and chose to pay attention to the positive reviews. I am so glad I did! I needed a pair of pinking shears that could be used on multiple fabrics. These fit the bill! As soon as I got them I tried cutting through an old t-shirt, a vintage upholstery fabric, denim and a light weight cotton weave. All cut cleanly with no force needed. I saw where some reviewers had problems with the cutting edge not being consistent. I did not have this problem. The only drawback that I found was that they are a pretty big pair of scissors and I can just barely open them all the way to use the full cutting edge. This is more an issue with my hand size, than the quality of the scissors though. I would highly recommend these pinking shears to anyone, especially those looking for an inexpensive high quality pair!**Update: I thought I'd add some pics. I cut through straps I made, so it ened up being 4 layers of heavy-ish cotton. The pics of the scissors are to show how much of the blade is unused and how far I can comfortably open and use them...All just as a point of reference.5Sharp!Very sharp, cuts well.5Worked as expectedWorked as expected. Sturdy & cut fabric easily5
