Customer Reviews

Great Die StorageI have now purchased three of these and need another. They are great for storing Dies for Crafting. They hold a lot of magnetic sheets. Just can't put to many in them because they get really heavy. I highly recommend these for storage. Dies don't bend and get distorted.5Must have for storing your die cutting framelets, thinlets and all metal diesAmazing, can't believe it took me so long to find these! Read my review on the coordinated magnetic die sheets that fit these storage containers. You will feel that same about keeping your dies organized and so much easier to find! The storage container will hold a lot of magnetic sheets, so depending on your dies you can store about 6-15 average sized cutting dies per sheet. You get three sheets with the storage box, you can purchase additional sheets separately. Note to anyone who plans to try this, do not purchase the alternative brand sheets made to fit this style container. They are wimpy, I tried them and regret it. If you get alternative magnetic sheets for DIY, be sure they are at least 1.2 mils or thicker, so your dies stick when handling them. Thinner means they are kind of floppy and the magnetic hold is not the same. I love these handy and useful storage systems, extra time to do the art instead of fumbling with tools.5I LOVE this storage case!!!!! #ArtbinGenius!!I read previously written reviews and although some were negative, I decided to go for it and buy one anyway.I am SO happy I did!! I was using the plastic packages that the dies came in, which resulted in all the dies being in a pile at the bottom of the package and a lot of time spent finding what I needed. These cases have saved me a ton of time and energy, making it possible for to me to go right to the die I need, when I need it. I now have 2 storage cases, purchased a package of extra magnetic sheets and am ready to buy another case & set of sheets. I have all my florals & decorative dies in one and basic shapes (scalloped circles, stars, frames, etc. ) in another. My third will be for organizing the letters, numbers, & word dies I bought a few months ago. Someone before me mentioned that her magnetic sheets were bent when she received them. I did too, it was from the plastic wrap they used to keep the sheets together in the case. I put my dies on the sheets, stacked them horizontally (laying flat), and stored them that way for the first few weeks and they flattened out with no problems. The person who said that her dies didn't stick to the sheets should probably check to make sure she was using the right side. All of the 3 packs of sheets that I've gotten are very strongly magnetized. It's true that some of the really big dies won't fit in these cases but we're talking dies that are 6.5" circles or larger. Hopefully,ArtBin will make some larger cases in the future!! :-D This is easily the most ingenious & efficient ways to store all of your metal cutting dies.5Great for Small Dies!I love this but it would need to be just a inch bigger to get a five star. My envelope dies fit in the case but overlap the magnetic board4Like this; a bit smallI wish I had paid more attention to the size; I just looked at the ratings from other women crafters. It's a nice case, but it is just a tad smaller than I would have liked, especially when trying to retrieve a die from the bottom; I have fat fingers. Will get lots of use out of this, but rather than buying another like this, since I will be adding more dies, probably large ones, I might buy the larger system from the competitor, which I discovered the day I received this! I did buy extra sheets, however, because the size is okay for now. UPDATE: I noticed today (4/23/19) that the right side of the opening has a LARGE hole where it cracked! I have 21 sheets in it, with only 18 of them filled, so it shouldn't be too heavy, since the description states it will "hold up to 21 sheets"!!! Also, some of my sheets hold very small or light dies! For this reason mainly I downgraded my rating from 5 to 3. I noticed this too late to get a refund OR replacement, no doubt!3A must have for Big Shot users! I own two now!!!I just got a second one. This storage case is amazing for my thinlet dies from Stampin' Up!. It holds them perfectly in place. I can flip through to find what I am looking for and then either just take that die out or the whole sheet and set it by my big shot. This keeps me amazingly organized! I find when I can reach everything from my chair I am much more efficient while crafting. You will love this. Get a couple refill packs right away if you are a die hoarder... (not that I am speaking from experience...)5So far, so good ...I have dies from a variety of companies: Spellbinders, Die-Namics, Memory Box, Cherry Lynn, Sizzix, etc. I had been storing them all in a large "bin," trying to keep them stuck to their original packaging, but that was becoming a problemI had tried to devise my own "system" -- but couldn't find the right size cards/etc. to use for the backing. Finally found these, and decided to give them a try.So far, they're working reasonably well. Almost all my dies are smaller: no larger than what would fit on an A2 (4.25" x 5.5") card, so I haven't run into any issues with larger dies since I don't own any. I can store two sets of Spellbinders Nestabilities on each sheet, but I do have to be careful when "flipping" through the sheets; otherwise, one or more of the larger ones will pop loose. Also, one brand of dies that I use uses clear plastic on some of their dies (particularly the "banner" dies) so you can see through them to line up your die with a stamped sentiment or whatever, and this plastic interferes with the "stick-ability" from a magent standpoint. I may just remove the plastic, since it really serves no useful purpose. Some have mentioned the "curling" -- and I've found this in several of the magnetic sheets, but not all of them. Not sure what causes it, but for now, I'm using those for my smaller dies, and using the really flat sheets for my larger dies. Also, I've had some luck putting a "curled" sheet between two heavy-weight cookie sheets, placing a few books under the stack and then piling a bunch of books on the top sheet, and leaving it there for a few days (the "sandwich" from the bottom up would be: couple of books, cookie sheet, magnetic sheet, cookie sheet, bunch of books) -- really seems to flatten it out.Anyway, this is my "storage choice" for metal dies for now, until/unless something better comes along. I've been able to find the refill pages cheaper elsewhere, but Amazon's price on the case is the best I've found so far.4Expensive item for limited useI bought this item in order to store my larger dies that won't fit in my hubless DVD cases. Not only isn't it suitable for this purpose, the three magnetic sheets are only magnetic on one side! What a huge disappointment. And this puppy is EXPENSIVE for its limited use. I might use it for crop parties, but since the three sheets stick together and are difficult to peel apart (resulting in release of dies from the next one) i find it annoying to use. Won't be buying any more sheets or cases. A zippered binder and large magnetic sheets in plastic protectors do a much better job of protecting your expensive dies.1Awesome product!!! Love how it organizes all of my diecuts! I have 6 of the magnetic sheets for this case and I think it might be able to hold up to 18 sheets! I do plan to buy more to test my theory. Both sides ARE magnetic, BUT the black side is NOT as strong as the white side. Diecuts fall off of the black side when I go to lay it into the case. Yes I still like this product a lot, Yes I'm disappointed that the other side is NOT as magnetically strong (this would be the area that I would suggest that they make better for their next product update ), Yes I still plan to buy more to organize my diecuts!Overall: Thank you for making a great organization product! UPDATE:I have bought more, but I think it might be able to hold around 30.5Just what I was hoping forI'm new to paper crafting and I was surprised at how quickly I had accumulated dies. I needed a storage solution that I could expand if I needed to (like there's any question I'm hooked and might need more storage, right?). I got this system and 3 extra magnetic panels, "just in case." HAH! All six sheets - the 3 included with my system and the "extra" 3 I purchased - are completely full. Yay, me for making the right storage choice! I'm guessing I could put at least 10 more sheets into this system without crowding.5
