Customer Reviews

Holding off a little until I finish my first afghanI have mixed feeling there are a lot of plus and a few negatives, you will have to watch a few videos and find what works best for you. I am a knitter so for me it is faster to knit but this does look better on the edges where using needles may leave them loose. It does keep the stitches close together and you won t have the separation between stitches that you may have with needles. I have tried everything I know to make the stitches looser but so far am having issues pulling the yarn over each hook. As you go around there is a little issue with turning but the loom is small enough to turn around as you go. It might be easier to use on a table and not your lap. This is the first time I have used it and it does seem to be made of good quality and I believe it will hold up for years of use. For me it would be faster to just knit but I am holding my full review for when I get through with the afghan. It will take me a while to finish this since I have trouble with my hands I have to take more breaks than if I just knitted or crochet. The only negative that I have seen so far is that it will take longer to make something and it isn t easy to slip the yarn over the hooks as the videos I have seen make it. For right now I am just trying to get through knitting but do plan on trying cable stitches etc later on. I also feel it would be easier and nicer to knit a sweater, jacket and things giving you a more defined look with better ends than knitting does. I have made sweaters before and always have the ends with big holes in the last stitch. I am very interested to see how easy it will be to make a sweater and the outcome of the look of it. Scarves would be easy and look very nice done from this loom so I don t see paying for another loom when you can do so much on this one.I will update as I go along and make different things.4While this is a sturdy built loom and is great for someone needed a ...While this is a sturdy built loom and is great for someone needed a more compact design, I did not find it to my liking. I didn't like have to go in circles 2 different direction. I would rather use my flat 28" loom. This look is a great design and the plastic is a higher quality than the previous models. I would recommend it for someone.4so this was a perfect solution for meI've been making crochet afghans for years and wanted to try the S-loom to make a knit afghan. I never mastered knitting, so this was a perfect solution for me. The instructions are easy to follow, and I appreciated that I didn't have to by the loom hook separately. I've been using this loom for almost 2 months and am happy with it so far. Initially, I tried to use a single strand of the Vanna's Tapestry yarn, but switched to two strands when the stitches came out too loose. My goal is to make a thick afghan that will be cozy during the winter.I agree with the other reviewers about knitting around the corners. I'm constantly turning the loom around to knit around those sections and the inner portions of the S. That's not a big deal, since this loom is compact enough where I can hold it in my lap. The reason I give this loom 4 stars instead of five are the pegs at the top. Compared to another loom, they're too small, which has caused the yarn to slip and unravel when I get to the end of the row. To combat this, I do the e-wrap in sections, hold the end down and knit before I move on to the next section of pegs that need the e-wrap. Despite this issue, I'm able to knit rows pretty quickly. If you are just starting out, I recommend that you watch the LOOM KNITTING: Knit a Square YouTube video by LoomaHat, plus any other videos you will find. This video will help you avoid the curl that occurs on the bottom of your knitting piece. I wish I had seen this video before I started because now I'm going to have to rely on a crochet border to (hopefully) flatten the edges.4Infinity Loom..IT ROCKS!!!Excellent for knitting large pieces however, working around the inside of the loom is a little tight but guessing there is no real way around this. The pegs seem very tight and durable. I've only just bought this and knitting my first afghan on it but so far very pleased in the result. The directions leave a lot to be desired. After some re-working my project I was able to figure the pattern out for a striped afghan using four colors. I'm not a needle knitter so enjoy the versatility of this loom. I have many looms and this one is now my favorite. Will certainly be using it for gifts in the future. Please be advised that since the directions are very basic and there is not a lot on You tube for these looms some trial-and-error is normal. Happy looming !!!4once it was figured out I really like it. I would have given it a five ...I did not get a yarn gauge, hook nor the four instructions for patterns and how to use. once it was figured out I really like it. I would have given it a five if the parts included were just that!4Ahhhh, much better!I am new to loom knitting & purchased a "S" or Infinity loom but found it flimsy & awkward to use. This one is much better (IMO) than the other because it is sturdier & not as wide. Working on my 1st blanket now, word of advice from a newbie - don't double strand worsted yarn...single strand is much easier.4My son has Asperger's. He loves this because knitting ...My son has Asperger's. He loves this because knitting on it is rhythmic, repetitive, and silent. He has already spent several peaceful hours with it.5Should Have Read the One Star ReviewsThis thing is very difficult to use. The pegs are too small and hard to load up.If you want to make something wide, get two of loom kits that allow you build your own loom.A foot and a half square loom is easier to use than this thing.1Best knitting loom everBest knitting loom ever. Knitting a blanket is so easy on this loom. After you have gotten a feel for how to work the pegs it is a breeze.5Well designed, sturdy, high quality knitting loomI have several sizes and shapes of knitting looms, but I was specifically looking for one large enough to knit an entire blanket in one piece. This high quality, sturdy loom is perfect for that purpose. It has a total of 198 pegs, so you can use the entire loom to make a blanket that is approx. 60 inches wide, depending on your stitch pattern and yarn, or less pegs for a baby blanket or lapghan. It is so well designed that even a "lefty" like me can easily work around the entire loom with plenty of space for my hands and the loom hook. It fits nicely on your lap, and the pegs are spaced perfectly so you can use one strand of regular 4-ply yarn, instead of bulky yarn or two strands. That was a real plus for me. This loom comes with a loom tool and an instruction booklet with three afghan patterns. I highly recommend this loom!5
