    Nice baby blanket yarnI used this pale blue yarn to crochet a baby blanket. It's easy to work with and resulted in a very soft, inviting feel with a nice sheen. I found very little snags or defects that had to be cut out while working through the skein. The only issue I sometimes had was finding the starting end (pulling from inside) and/or the yarn would sometimes tangle on itself as I worked, which I then fixed by balling up the remaining yarn. I would buy again.5Good to Practice PatienceI bought this yarn to make a baby gift with. The skein started out perfectly until midway through my project I ended up with a "bowl of spaghetti" (photo attached). I spent 6 hours one day determined to unravel the mess. That is the reason for the low rating. I haven't used Bernat yarn in years and don't know if this is common or a fluke, but thought others should know my experience. I ended up having to cut the knot out and tie ends together after all. Also, there were places where the yarn was worn through in all those tangles.2Thank you! So happy to have found this. I thought I took enough yarn with me on a visit to the in-laws, but ran out in the midst of a project. I ordered this and it was there the next day, perfect color match.Thank you! 5Great yarnLove this yarn. It's extremely soft ... similar to alpaca, but without all that loose fiber. It drapes great on cowls, but may be too soft on other items. It would be great for baby stuff. The color is great too. It's more taupe than it appears in the photo. The photo seems to have more of a creamy/yellowish shade, but it's very neutral taupe.5Great for baby productsI needed just a small amount of yarn to finish a sweater I was making for my granddaughter. The store where I bought the skein that I started the sweater with, no longer carried the product. The only place I could find it was on-line. Even though the new skein was a different dye-lot, it matched so closely that you cannot tell where the new skein starts. I love this soft yarn.5Soft but easily tangled It is very soft and the color is great (mouse merl) but cloudy. This yarn string easily split so it is easily tangled which requires extra carefulness to yarn. 3Tangle, tangle, tangleI started knitting when I was nine. We had lots of yarns that tangled all the time then, 61 years ago. Since then the yarns have improved, until I got to this. Tangle, tangle, tangle. I even rewound the whole ball without success. Bernat used to be a good name. Guess they outsourced this yarn to make more profit.1Perfect Baby YarnSo soft, it's practically cloud-like. I used it to make baby cocoons (like sleeping bags for infants) for some expectant mothers in church and its just gorgeous. I loved it so much I made matching hats and slippers too!5Very disappointedThis yarn was purchased to make a baby blanket as a gift. I have purchased Bernat Softee Baby Yarn many times in the past. There were three knots in this skein! I had to really work to hide them. I had an issue with the Antique White Baby Yarn last year and Bernat sent me replacements. I have not contacted Bernat this time, but I will not be buying this brand again!2Good quality yarnI had used Caron yarn several years ago for a knitted baby blanket, but I have switched to Bernat yarn because it s much nicer! It is softer and is a better quality yarn - Bernat baby blanket is perfect!5Soft yarn with beautiful colors!Loved this yarn! It's really soft and came well-packaged. The pink is a beautiful light color and I paired it with the white baby yarn to make a toddler hat. It's a light #3 yarn and and I doubled it (aka. used 2 strands) for the body of the hat. The white yarn wasn't doubled.5Soft nightmareThis yarn is soft but that is the best I can say about it. I crocheted a baby blanket with it and thought I would never get through the project. There were long sections of the yarn where the splitting and bunching up of fibers was so bad I felt like I was trying to manipulate clouds of cobwebs. I had to press on because there was no way of determining by sight or touch where the bad areas began and ended. If I could have known I would have cut the bad sections out. I had to re-do stitches two, three, even four or five times in spite of proceeding VERY slowly and with extreme care . On another web site there were many negative reviews of this yarn but there were good ones too and the few reviews on Amazon were favorable so I decided to go ahead and order. Big mistake. The tediousness and frustration of working with this yarn displaced the enjoyment of creating the blanket and this was a blanket for my first grandson so you gotta' figure things had to be pretty bad to crush the pleasure of making this blanket. Maybe the yarn works well for knitting. I threw the left over yarn in the trash and that's saying something considering what a penny pincher I am. I hope if I am some day compelled to make another baby item that there are other easier to work with soft yarns available2
