Customer Reviews

Great for beading!I love these. I can bead bracelets on regular beading needles using 6 pound thread, but cannot get the stronger 8 pound thread through those needles. Big Eye needles enable me to bead with 8 pound thread for stronger holding power. They're all I use now. This brand is more slender than some I have bought and better able to fit through small beads.5Pretty easy threadingI have poor eyesight for needle and thread work, so this one is the best needle I've used so far. They're long enough to get a group of beads on. With the tiniest seed beads, they don't always fit into the holes, but I'd guess any other needle would have to be much thinner (and harder to thread) to go through smaller type beads. In general, they're easy to thread and easy to pick up beads with, so I'd recommend this needle.5Great tool as a low vision aid --and for beadingThis thin, well made, "beading" needle works brilliantly to thread regular sewing and machine needles -- by touch.Caution is needed to protect fingers (such as be sure the machine is turned OFF when threading the machine needle and it helps to remove the foot to allow more space). This Big Eye Needle is a delight for me, now that I am vision impaired. With this tool, as intricate sewing is no longer an option, I can continue doing simple sewing - my favorite hobby. This tool threads eyes of medium (as size 80 machine needle)to larger needles. To store the Big Eye Needle, I cut two holes in a light weight cardboard that is longer and wider than the threader. Gently, I "weave" the needle through the holes. The cardboard is easy to find and protects the Big Eye Needle.I "met" the Big Eye Needle while taking beading lessons. Later transferred its use to threading sewing needles.5I like them! These are very bendable but they work well with the tiny beads. Just don't try to force them through those beads that have a hole that have not been cut right or you'll bend the needle. But they do work well.5The Easiest Needle To Bead Cross StitchAs I have never beaded before, I started a cross stitch project that needed beads. I had a beading needle but the end was too large so I had to use a tiny sewing needle. What do tiny sewing needles have? A tiny hole for the thread to go in. Tried everything to get this to work so I Googled big eye beading needle and here is where it led to. These are the most wonderful big eye needles ever! The entire needle is the eye, so no magnifying glass, or bright lights needed. Doesn't matter how many strands of floss either. And those tiny holed seed beads work wonderfully with these needles as well.I have been using one needle, it is bent [cause they are really long] from me trying to use tiny bits of floss, but it is still working so great, I just bend it back straight again and add new floss. My project is almost finished and it never would be this close without these needles!Bought some more too.5Love these! They make beading SO much easier and ...Love these! They make beading SO much easier and even more fun for me! I love that you can use practically any type of thread or string and the flexibility of these make it so easy to do pretty much any design you like! Perfect!5Had no eyes!I obviously received what should have been a factory reject. I thought that I was going blind when I first tried to thread one of these big eye needles. I couldn't see the eye. I found one of my old beading needles and threaded it easily. I emailed Beadsmith to tell them of the problem, but my email came back undelivered.FOLLOW UP:I just found out how to thread the big eye needle!! Thanks @homemom, you educated me.4Best dang needle for these old eyes!!Perfect for my Christmas stocking project!! Needles are versatile enough for small beading, and embroidering multiple threads through felt. I was concerned they wouldn't be sharp enough, but they sure are, and you can use either end as the tip. They are a bit flimsy, but they keep on working even when they get all bent up. Ordering another dozen! Well worth the money!!5Boo for the bent needle, yay for the product in general.I like these needles I order them all the time but one was bent, and I was not afforded the option of returning them, which seems kind of unfair, especially because I pay a premium for prime membership.2Maybe Not for All Uses"Easiest Needle to Thread," indeed. I use them for loom beading and for rerooting hair on vinyl dolls. The latter job can break the soldering that holds the two fine wires into one needle, by overloading, but then they can be resoldered into netting shuttles for fine thread. For things requiring bending the needle, your standard beading needles may be best, but if these can drop a thread easily, it's also only a moment to rethread. I use the standard small-eyes very rarely these days. I haven't beaded on fabric in years, but if I do next month, I'll give these a try first.5
