FANTASTIC DEAL!!!!!First off I should say I am not a fps person Halo, Cod, Battlefield, They just don't appeal to me. Why because I have mostly been a offline player sticking to the jrpg games that took many hours to complete witch to me gave the $60 price tag a reasonable explanation. Lets face it gamers it's not cheap being a gamer geek or whatever you define yourself as so sometimes a lot of people depend on discounted prices, used games, or the wonderful GOTYE and this one is an AMAZING DEAL!!!! Borderlands has always been that one title that made a guy who doesn't care for fps games enjoy one the fact Gearbox took a fps game jrpg elements Diablo's loot hording obsession and slap stick humor and slammed it into one amazing game franchise is not just creative but worthy of praise. When other games stick to the tired and true formula Borderlands is the crazy nut job that through a monkey wrench into the works and then painted a rainbow LOL but lets go on to why this is such a good deal. For me I had this game already for my 360 and had paid for 2 dlc stories but having a ps3 and Borderlands 1 GOTYE for it and the fact online is free on ps3 (thank you Sony) I decided to buy the GOTYE of this game to experience the online and to get the rest of the dlc I scored this game at the Amazon Black Friday event for 30$ witch was 50% off!!! but it is still a good deal now at 40$ why? because you would pay more buying a basic copy of the game and downloading all the dlc for the ps3 plus users this game is free but I urge you to still buy the GOTYE because buying all the dlc in this set would cost you 70$ but by buying this version of the game you get it all for 40$ a much better deal!!!!I wont go into all the dlc names because its been posted here before and well everywhere but I will say the only thing you will have to buy dlc wise is the last level cap pack because Gearbox didn't put it in idk why but with all the dlc in this set the great deal your getting and the fact the level cap 2 is only 5$ with all the money your saving you could afford it and trust me YOU WANT THAT LEVE PACK 2 THE OP8 GUNS ARE SICK!!!!! ;) sorry for the bad spelling and grammar but I hoped this review or umm excited message helped somebody have a nice day and happy hunting in Borderlands!!!!!5Love Borderlands!Honestly just absolutely love this franchise, just endless hours of laughs and looting. I always buy game of the year editions since it fully complete with dlc. For the price to just endless hours of fun.5What's not to like?Woo! Yeah, that's right. Woo!I didn't play the first Borderlands. I came late to the party and was able to purchase the Game of the Year version. I cannot imagine having to wait and piece meal purchase all the goodies in this set.The game itself is fun and fast paced. What will really stick with you is the humor. It tells a story, but at no time does it take itself too seriously.(looking at you, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare/Black op). Jokes, bullets, enemies and autos. Everything is flying in this game. The GotY edition packs in all the big expansions, But you will just end up playing Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon's Keep more than the others. Why? Because the 4th wall breaks in that expansion and the over all insanity is a joy from start to end. This edition also includes both of the expansion classes, Mechromancer and Psycho. Well worth a look.Pros: Endless game play for you and your friends. Tons of guns to seek. And a lot of fun to be had.Cons: Don't think that you will play all the characters. You can only replay the same missions so many times. The difficulty level ramps up after the first play through, meaning that the next difficulty level demands that you have other players or you will get flat out murdered.5I still hate the fact the randon weapon system thing is still ...This game has got me going. I still hate the fact the randon weapon system thing is still a thing. It couldve been better to let the player customize their own weapons but other than that this is one of the greatest fps/rpg hybrid games ever made. Theres more story and cutscenes. Bosses have some personality rather than the first one where the bosses really had no personality. The dlc's are in the disc. It doesnt have any of the costume dlc's or any of that. Mainly quests stuff dlc's. How many hours of gameplay? a whole lot its all I can say. Its many hours youll put in this game and honestly its very fun as you progress. Gettig a used copy is something id go for something like new. Its worth 30 now since its a bit outdated but its definitely moneys worth.5Nuff SaidAs an avid fan of Borderlands 2 - I have the PC GOTY version also. In my mind, infinitely replayable - sure the actual settings repeat BUT the loot grabs make up for it - especially with the chance of an orange mixed in. For those who don't know what an "orange" is, get the game and find out. Each playable character brings its own nuances to the game. The Humor is top notch. The option of golden keys (via the net) is a nice touch. Thanks Gearbox.I also have original Borderlands GOTY on both PC and PS3 - still replayable (every so often, i'll dust it off and "catch a riiiiiiiiiiiidddddddddddddde")Can't wait for BL3.5A very fun cartoonish RPG/FPS hybrid game!Never played the Borderlands series before this one, but I tried it out when Sony made it a 'free with Plus' game. Of course, buying the Game of the Year Edition is the best deal rather than buying all the DLC separately. Plus, 2K still regularly gives out codes on Facebook and Twitter for all the games in the Borderlands series that give you 'golden keys' that allow you to get high end weapons and other equipment. As a note: This does not include any of the extra skin sets ($0.99 each) or the "Headhunter" DLCs that were added after this version's release.Overall, I highly recommend this fun game, and the GoTY version is the one to get. :)5Nightmare Krieg Recommends this gameawesome borderlands 2 GOTY edition is great you'll see some weird strange things in the wastlandsthere's quite a few things gearbox could have did better with this game when you play online with others who aren't your friends can steal the loot you killed the enemy for gets very annoying, the Krieg Character can be hurt by team mates gun fire and nova shield blasts so watch out all the other characters in the game can't be hurt or taken out by nova shield blasts?the game offers online playonline friends onlyinvite friends onlypubliclanofflinedespite some of the problems stated above its a great game even for the GOTY edition.5This is by far the best value you'll find for what you getI bought this for my sister, as I already own a copy on the 360. This is by far the best value you'll find for what you get. It doesn't include the 2nd Ultimate Vault Hunter pack; nor does it include any of the Headhunter packs. It does include all the major DLCs, the 1st Ultimate Vault Hunter pack, and the Psycho and Mecromancer packs. Between this and the first Borderlands, this one is superior; however, I do think weapon drops and weapon quality and variation were much better in the first game. This game got a little gimmicky with the guns, which turned out to make guns you'd expect to be awesome turn out to be the worst weapons ever. Balancing was much better in the first game as well between enemies and players. It's just the skill trees, the graphics, and story were just that much more superior in this game. More than 2 years since this game originally released, and it's still heavily played with a huge community. One of the best Co-op games out there. If you haven't played the first Borderlands, play that first; because it would be hard to go back to the first after playing this game. Also, it will give you context with a lot of what is going on in this game.5FUN, Fun, fun.... more fun. This game is packed with so much content. The price is great. The game is EXCELLENT! Absolutely no complaints. If you are a fan of cooperative role playing games with a first person twist... this is your answer. Pick this game up. You will NOT regret it. Some people complain about the graphics 2K decided to go with in Borderlands.... I think otherwise. The graphics suit this style of game. It is very funny and different from your over produced Call of Duty game and any other typical first person. I would call this more of an RPG than a first person. Oh and not to mention this comes with all the DLC on disc of its own so you don't have to waste any time downloading gigs worth of add-on content. just pop the disc in and BAM. you got your DLC installing.5Fragging explosive funIf you liked the first Borderlands, I expect you'll like this one.I suck at first person shooter (FPS) games. The learning curve is gentle enough for me. And when it isn't, I can grind in an area for weapons/experience. Finding that gun that changes a mission objective from rage inducing to I can do it... awesome. And there is always something that will work for your style of play. Seriously, if I can find these weapons, anyone can. It just takes a bit of time. But even failure isn't bad. Well, so to speak. There is a penalty for dying, money and experience (i think) but if you're quick you can choose to avoid these, though for a different price. If you are worried about age related content, then you probably should avoid. I enjoy the humor (I am in my 40s), and while I believe most teens (15+) of reasonable maturity can handle it, there IS a good reason for the M(ature) rating. The idea does center around mercilessly going around and shooting/blowing people and monsters up. The story line does feature psychopaths that are not concerned about gentle ears. Seriously, before railing at a company for gameplay NOT intended for a child that you put into said child's hands consider it had notices on it telling you to be warned. If you are getting the game, get the game of the year version. This has much of the extra content that early adopters had to pay extra to get.5
