Customer Reviews
I like the yarn....but...I love working with this yarn. Very pretty color. However, when I got toward the end of one skein It was all messed up. It was in pieces in spots and frayed in others. I had to cut big pieces out. Very frustrating. I am making a very large afghan and hope to not run into this again.
3Great yarnLovely yarn, soft, easy to work with, and the color is a delight. Caron yarn much softer than red heart but also a bit thinner so you need to check your gauge. I love it and the ball is big, will make lots of things. I make things for charity and these big balls are great money wise and this feels like your finished product is made from expensive yarn
5wasnt softI am making an afghan and wanted to try variegated yarn. I have never used it , so maybe they are all the same. It is very thin, and supposed to be 4 ply worsted. The yarn is not soft, almost like a rope. I would hesitate to buy variegated again, unless there are better quality yarns/and to find the beginning is impossible in the the standard way of finding the inside end. It took over and hour and one half to wind it into a ball . The only way is to start with the outside loose end.what a nightmare. every skein was the same. I bought four.
1As Usual, Caron Does Not DisappointI had to add onto another purchase to bring the total up to a point where I got free shipping, so I picked this yarn because it looked to blend well with the yarn I was already using for a crocheted baby blanket. Caron is a trusted yarn maker, and I have always thought the products made with their yarn to be good quality products. It is on the softer side, as most baby yarns will be. I also like the gender-neutral coloring. So far, this ball - or skein - seems to be the usual Caron good quality.
5Warning! Rusty yarn....I bought 2 skeins...I m almost done with the first one and there are numerous areas where the yarn is rusted! I m new to knitting and very upset as this afghan is a baby gift. Turned off from Caron yarn that s for sure!
3Finally made something for me!I've had to buy 4 Jumbo size skeins of this yarn. Ever since I started knitting, I've wanted to make something for myself out of it but whenever friends, customers and relative see it, they want something made and I end up running out! I finally made myself a scarf and two hats and have plenty leftover for the next person who sees it! Great colors and very soft and easy to work with.
5soft with very pretty pastel colorsThis is large. no need to worry that you can only find 3 skeins of one lot. Unless the item you are creating takes an inordinate amount of yarn - this will do the trick with one skein.
5Good for the priceI got the "peacock" color and, while it's not particularly peacock-y, it's pretty enough. Muted jewel tones with bits of goldish olive, purplish gray, and bright teal. The color cycles are VERY short -- in single crochet with a 4mm hook, each color lasts between 1 and 5 stitches. While it is soft, it definitely feels cheap and I ran into a splice that pulled apart within a few rows.I bought this to make a cat bed, so I'm not bothered by the quality. You get a lot for the money and the colors are ideal for disguising shed fur. Feline approval is still pending.
4Great yarn for light weight projects. Great colors and softArrived the next day and it was a Sunday. Still do not know how that happened. Seller is great and price was good. Yarn came in plastic wrap so it was protected. Now about the yarn... this is a very light weight yarn. I use it for Tunisian crochet since this style of crochet is very dense and projects can become heavy. The variegation is nice. The yarn is soft but does split somewhat easily but I find using bamboo needles helps this. The yarn has a lot of "stretch" in it as opposed to other yarns that are much stiffer. I fear that it may become snagged very easily after project is finished but that is yet to be seen since I am not done. it is the right weight for Tunisian and would be great for baby blankets. I tried this with a corner to corner pattern and found the yarn to be to thin for an adult afghan. Added some pics so you can see how the variegation looks. I like working with this yarn even with the small splitting problem. If you catch your loops correctly you can avoid the splits. I do not know a better way to say that. Some of the skeins are great and have no knots and easy to find end, others are a pain in the rump and are knotted in the center and hard to find the starting thread, it is the luck of the draw. I find this true with most yarns I work with. The colors are great, it has teal, white, brown and dark blue I am afraid the photo's do not do it justice. If this yarn does not snag I will be using it again. Perfect for Tunisian Afghans. I made a bedspread for a full size bed out of the Caron one pound yarn using a pattern with DC stitch and it weighed 9 pounds when I was done and that is to heavy for people to use as an blanket.
5Lovely YarnVery Soft. Texture is interesting; I would call it slightly "spongy". One skein was enough to make a small crochet baby blanket, about 20" square.. Another made a knit super scarf, about 7" by 90" plus fringe. The soft prints pattern out very pretty. Would have liked to get it in a solid color. I had to use a different brand to make a white border. I've added a photo of 3 scarves that I made. First used the Rosewood, second is Seaside and the third is the Spicy Ombre.
