Customer Reviews
The BerriesI have no plans to ever purchase any circular needles ever again that are not ChiaGoo. My Red Lace are always the perfect weight, work great with whatever yarn I m using and are so smooth, and easier to work with than any other needles I ve used. I started a project with plastic needles that came with a kit. Too light and slippery and hard to work with. Switched to some bamboos that were hard to work with because the yarn would catch on the transition from the hollow plastic cord to the bamboo. Got sick of it and ordered these and now I m moving right along. ChiaoGoo Red Lace might be a little pricey but they re going to last forever so for me they are more than worth it.5No memory for curves, but they want to be straightWhile it is true that these needles aren't going to kink up on you from being stored coiled, they do have a memory in that they really want to stay straight. The cable does flex when you cause it to, but it is always wanting to pop back into a straight position if you're not holding it which can cause some stitches to stretch if they're on either side of a turning point in your cable, like when knitting socks. Just make sure you have long enough cable that the stitches won't be too close to a turn very often. Otherwise, these are very nice needles and I can see them lasting a very long time.4Nice, but strange...So I m SUPER impressed with the cable on these things. The needles came coiled in the package and normally when they are package in a coil shape, this puts a memory into the cable and they will not straighten out no matter what you do. They just stayed looped and get in your way. These however, have almost no memory. The only memory that exists in them is right where the cable connects to the needles, which is literally not a problem whatsoever. The only issue I have with these needles is the material of the needles themselves. They feel like hard aluminum and have a strange texture that drives my senses crazy when they slide across each other. Normally when you buy a pair of metal needles, they are slick and the yarn glides across. The needles have a slightly rough texture that doesn t allow the yarn to glide (and also creates that teeth-clenching sound), and I suppose the texture is designed to do just that: keep the yarn from sliding where you don t want it to.Overall, The cable made me happier than I ever have been with a pair of needles, and then the texture took them Back down to just even with every other pair I have. But definitely do not regret purchasing.

}4Comfortable to UseI'm a grammie who makes slippers for my kids and grandkids. I couldn't believe how comfortable these needles are to use, and the red "line" that connects the two needles is very sturdy, does not snag, and wears wonderfully well. I had to replace one set of needles because I simply wore them out with making over a hundred pairs of slippers. But the price is right, so no problem.5Perfect for this beginning sock knitterI thought about buying Sock Rockets (another brand) but they advertised themselves as "for expert knitters." I think it's because they're super slippery. I'm not an expert; in fact, I'm just teaching myself to knit socks (yay YouTube!) These are just the right texture--the stitches don't inadvertently slip off, but I can knit smoothly with them.I bought the 32" ones, but may purchase longer ones to try toe-up, 2 at a time sock knitting!5Great needles.I love these needles! I m a new knitter, and I read that bamboo needles were easier to control, and while that s true... I was getting annoyed with how slowly they made things go. They made my hands cramp almost immediately. Enter the Chiaogoo needles! They are so easy to manipulate and the yarn glides over them effortlessly. I already have a second pair on the way, and I won t be buying anything else in the future.5AMAZING!!I have been knitting for over 50+ years [started at age 7]. I have used circular needles all the time for blankets. and large items. I prefer aluminum because the wood & Bamboo have SO MUCH drag on them. I simply got sick to death of Boye needles snapping off. the fishing line cable comes with this horrific memory bends in them as they are packaged. You can't get it out. I've even tried heating them up to straighten them. They go right back. Also a horrible bend at the tips. I was literally fed up of Boye's plastic cables snapping off on me nonstop. They kink up and snap off when you get to the ends of each rows. GOING through a dozen sets a year. I saw these ChiaoGoo Needles with the actual plastic coated wire CABLE and the Stainless Steel needles,,and decided to give them a try. I had been thinking of this very concept for years. Thinking WHY don't they use wire cable instead of plastic fishing line? Made no sense other than we have to keep buying their crap all the time. All about money and not quality. SO... I got my ChiaoGoo Needles, loaded them onto the blanket I am making, and holy moly. I'm hooked. It took me a little bit to get use to the needle tips being longer, but having straight needles really is fantastic. NO MEMORY FISHING LINE!! I am well into 7-8 inches on this blanket and the ChiaoGoo Needles are totally fantastic. I LOVE THEM. I am searching for more sets. Never going back to Boye's unless they get rid of the curved tip and fishing line.5If you love knitting, then you NEED these needles. Best that money can buy!!!I LOVE ChiaoGoo needles and don't buy any other brand. I actually bought the wrong size but they are fine. LOVE these needles because the CABLES are non-kinking and that makes a huge difference to me. No more cables in the face as you knit. I do not know what they are made of but I will never buy Nylon cabled needles again, no matter what the brand is.I must have about 15 sets of these now!!!5Great needles, label placement needs workThese are by far my favorite needles. I know what I'm getting no matter who the seller is. My only problem with this pair and the reason I didn't give it 4 stars is that the bar code label is right over the label with the needle size on it. I know other knitters store their needles without the packaging but I don't and it makes it unhandy when I can't see the size at a glance.4Smooth fast needles and flexible cableInstantly my favorite needles. The needles themselves are lightweight, lighter than Addi, but don't feel at all flimsy. The points and length are wonderfully smooth. Have worked great so far with mohair cobweb and also plain wool fingering (4ply) for a doll sweater. The real plus of these needles though is the cable. It is a metal mesh cable fit to the needles with a smooth plastic coating over it. SUPER flexible! Absolutely no fighting with it wanting to form weird loops from being stored and it's pliable enough for the "magic loop" method. The transition from needle to cable is very smooth. Even working stitches that have gone tight on the cable back onto the needle feels smooth.I will probably be replacing a few existing sets of needles with these as I can. They are really just that nice.5
