Customer Reviews

Tiny, but good. I think most people buying these have a pretty good idea what they are getting. It's really convenient to have a short cirucular needle. I've used mine for the bottom of sweater sleeves, and then size up to a longer circular for the upper sleeves. The bamboo is comfortable on my hands and the stitches don't tend to accidentally slide off (which can happen easily for me with smooth metal needles). My hands feel a bit cramped knitting with them, but not too bad, and it's worth it to me to avoid dpns and ladder patterns on my projects. The only reason for 4 stars is that the cable material is pretty rigid. I prefer the more flexible cables on circular Signature Needles (but they don't make any this short). 4GreatThese are a great brand. I like them a little more than DPN's. This is a good durable brand. I have always liked takumi for the quality. They're small, and your hand does cramp a little if you're not used to using such small in the rounds. But these are great. I definitely suggest then to anyone looking for a good quality round for socks or small items.5Wonderful for knitted baby items So easy to use for gloves, mittens, socks and hats...any baby item! Good quality design and product manufacture. I'm ordering these in every size for all kinds of projects. Love them! 5The tiny tips are easy to fumble when manipulating themI am a beginning knitter, but in making my first hat, realized I'd have to switch to a smaller circular, use the magic loop method, or use double pointed needles to finish up the top and close it off. I purchased this but honestly, its fiddly to work with. The tiny tips are easy to fumble when manipulating them, and while given a little time you do adjust to using it, I found using the double pointed needles worked better for me to finish off my hats. That said, I'm betting this would be great for socks as maneuvering around DPN for all those rounds would drive me batty! Do I recommend this item? Yes. But its not my favorite knitting tool to work with.4No DPNs Needed!I bought these to finish the sleeves of a sweater I was knitting, because no matter how much I have accomplished with the craft I just can't prevent laddering with those awful double-pointed needles! I have tried every trick in the book, and have knitted since I was a little girl. I love these little circular needles because they are tidy and completely seamless. The bamboo tips are indestructible; I have many products from this brand. My Irish cabled sweater turned out amazing, and i will definitely buy more of these 9-inch circulars for future projects. Thanks!5LOVE this. I use these for almost every pair of socks with knitted cuffs when I'm not knitting two at a time on two longer circulars. I crochet quite a few lace socks, and this is just perfect for the cuffs.I'd tried buying this at a local yarn shop, and the shop owner informed me they don't carry such small needles because they are "bad for our hands." I've been using these for about two years now, and I have no hand problems when using them or after. The final result is so much more attractive on my knitting than the double pointed needles I had been using, which sometimes left ladders, even when I tried to pull ending and beginning stitches tight. 5Better for continental style than English styleIf you throw your yarn or knit English, I wouldn't recommend these needles at all. They are also fussy for a Norwegian purl because there's not a lot of needle to actually manipulate. That being said, these are a breeze for continental knitting! They are amazing for whipping through a pair of socks. I switched off to double points for the heel flap, but otherwise I have greatly enjoyed using these little needles. They are a lot simpler than double points even though I switch to throwing for any purl stitches. If you knit continental style, you should definitely give these a try. And if you knit English, you should learn continental before you try them :)The joins are smooth and the metal part has a bit of a bend to make the points really come together. Love these little genius needles!5Tricky at first but natural after 5-10 minutesA little tricky at first, only bc they're so small but after casting on, it was fine. I got size 1 so they are TINY but that's what I wanted :D Socks are for Christmas!Nice & smooth but not "slick". I can set my work down with out any stitches sliding off but still smooth enough to work quickly without drag, as some needles can be.I most definitely will be ordering more sizes in this length! I am very happy with these needles!5a good product but takes getting used to. I have just recently received this 9" circular needle size 7, and have been using it daily to knit Teddy Bears for charity. It is a little hard to get used to such a short circular, but that's not the needle's fault! For knitting in the round something too small for a longer circular, this is fine, and I prefer a circ to using double-points. All in all, I would say such a short circ is not as easy to use as a longer one, and the needle part is really short, so you have to knit with your fingertips, so to speak. But again, that's not the needle's fault. I would give it 5 stars, except that I feel the price was way too high. 4Knitting Good needles except some yarn sticks to the wood and doesn't slide off easily 5Love Clover/Takumi CircularsI absolutely love the durability and comfort of the Clover/Takumi circular needles. These are rated a 4 star on ease of holding, because they are hard to hold. And that is simply because of the tiny size of the circular length, 9" is much smaller than you anticipate, until you get your hands on them. I tend to need breaks so my hands don't cramp. But they do work great for socks and slippers. I love them, and they're worth the price in my opinion.5Great for knitting socksI was knitting socks for Christmas presents and in the small sizes, I need two circular needles per sock. I also start both socks in a pair at the same time because I want to make sure the stripes match up at least reasonably. And I save the heel for when I m going to be uninterrupted. So I may have 10 needles in use at one time. I bought two pairs at JoAnn s that had such sharp points I was drawing blood. I ordered these and I was so happy that they had more rounded points.5Pleasantly surprising. When I first tried them, I didn't think I was going to like them at all. Once I got used to them, though, without having to shuffle between double pointeds or even magic loop, my speed at sock knitting improved noticeably. I did switch to DPNs for the heel/gusset and to hold the stitches for the Kitchener bind-off, but the cuff, leg, and foot portions flew by. Also, since there is no switching between pairs of needles, the dreaded "laddering" is a thing of the past.4Take getting used to...This short cable needle is ideal for working sleeves, ankles, socks, and the crowns of hats. If you have difficulty using DPNs or want to knit faster, this needle should work for you. The needles are smoothly shaped bamboo, the cables are flexible, and the metal joins do not snag the yarn. However, the needles are, by necessity, very short; this takes getting used to, but will be rewarding for the avid knitter. During my first couple projects, I developed a cramp at the base of both thumbs. I learned to knit relaxed, keeping my hands very limp, and now have no difficulties.I did not give this product five stars because I would prefer the option of a metal cable. Some yarns do not slide on the plastic cable and it's annoying to continuously readjust the stitches on the cable.4Not the Quality Expected I got these to make knitting the sleeves of a sweater easier. I didn't even make it through the first sleeve before one of the tips splintered! Having been a user of clover needles for almost 20 years and never having this problem, needless to say I was shocked. There should never be a time when you have to SAND DOWN your knitting needles in order to complete a project. 1The wooden needle part is SHORT.Arrived on time, sturdy little needle. "Little" being the key word. I think I have average sized hands for a female but the wooden needle part is so, so short that it is difficult to keep hold of and manipulate. I'll keep them and keep trying.ever the optimist4
