    Had my hopes up too highit didn't warm up as much I had hoped for ironing on thick vinyl with tiny details (something a regular iron would ruin.) I am still keeping it because it is still nice for the small details but it won't work for the purpose that I originally intended it to.3Plastic stand and hot iron don t mix.Why they would send a plastic stand for a hot ironing tool is beyond my comprehension. I was excited to receive this iron and begin using it for my small iron-on projects. While it does get hot and work well in that aspect, the overall design for when it s not in use is flawed. The cord is so heavy compared to the actual iron that it s impossible for it sit properly on the provided stand, which is made of plastic. Plastic and extreme heat do not mix well. My second time using it, I set it down on the stand while I made adjustments to my project and went to grab it again only to see the weight of the cord pulled it out of the proper position and melted the stand onto the iron head. So now it s ruined and useless to me. I tried carefully scraping the melted plastic off to no avail. I ll search elsewhere for a better option.2Great buyI make vinyl decals for shirts and I bought this iron to remove errors. It works great, but definitely has a bit of a learning curve. There is a LOW and HIGH setting only. No medium. On high, I can usually get the vinyl off. Sometimes it only seems to adhere it more! (This is user error only...I don't blame the iron). This little guy gets HOT, so be very careful not to touch the metal wand.5what kind of fabric are you using this iron forI did like the size of the iron. However, it did not get hot enough to press cotton. It would be good for synthetic fabric but not cotton. I only use cotton when I make quilts and it just did not work for me.3This is useless. I thought it would save time with making ... This is useless. I thought it would save time with making my quilts, but it is actually too small. I wouldn't say that it is faulty, but it was not what worked for me. 1Started smoking on the very first use!A couple of minutes after I placed the iron on its designated stand as per instructions, it started smoking! The stand's metal left a nasty scar on the iron's bar, as shown in the photo. Second use (no longer using the stand, of course), the iron ruined my project within 2 seconds even though it was on low heat, and then proceeded to make crackling sounds that made me rush to pull out the plug. So, no - I do not recommend this item.1Clover Mini Iron II Large Tip does not fit thisYou should be aware that although Amazon says the Clover Mini Iron II Large Tip is "frequently bought together" with this, the larger tip DOES NOT FIT because its shaft is a larger diameter and will not fit at all into the Mini Iron.3Clover Mini IronThis iron is difficult to use. The entire metal part gets hot, not just the tip. It is awkward to use. I am an experience quilter and have been sewing for most of my life ( of 82 years) I am sorry I got it. It would have been better to get a small travel iron,2Gets HOT and durableLove my clove iron, I've had it for almost a year now and it gets HOT HOT just how I need it. I use it for ironing on my appliques when I embroider. It definitely gets not enough to melt the heat and bond to adhere the applique to the item.I use it when I sew hoods or other curved seams where I need to iron awkward curves or tight places.The metal rod 'neck' does get just as hot as the plate, which is a little nerve wrecking to remember to be careful. Bit I've never burned myself.I've gotten mini irons before and always had a problem with them not getting not enough, this one sure does, time and time again!5avoidVERY disappointed about this crafting iron. She just got her first chance to use it a month later, won't even heat. Indicator light comes on...no heat1Does it's job well.This iron is small, light, and portable. Great for my applique and mixed media projects. I can't speak to this products ability to last as I have only had it for about a month. If it dies in an unreasonable amount of time I would/will return and edit this review.It take a little while to get to it's full hottest temp and doesn't really have any indication as to when it's at it's max. It only has a light that indicates on and off. If the light changed when it was at it's full temp I would have given it 5 stars.The little stand is not that great but I knew that from reading other reviews and simply purchased the wooden stand with this and the two pair very well together. So there was no surprise or disappointment there.The metal stem gets very very very hot, at a much faster rate than the tip itself. I found this out the hard way with a large burn on my finger. There is a warning on it that says not to touch it so that was my bad....oops. So don't do that!Glad I bought it, it's been getting a lot of use. I would definitely purchase again.4Do not get the frequently bought together headBeware of the frequently bought together scam. I bought this for my wife, and bought the larger head, that amazon says are frequently bought together. It will not fit this iron, and is not made for this iron, so it was a total waste of money.3Clover mini iron My latest quilt was a Sampler Quilt, 140 different six inch squares. Many of these squares had as many as 40+ pieces. This little iron was very handy for these little seams, and very convenient to have right next to the machine. After purchasing this iron many of my friends had me order them one when they saw how well this worked.
