Not really red! These are not red! The description says red, the paper label on each crayon says red, but they are not really red. They are in fact a dark red, rusty color - brick red? Since Binney & Smith has a name for each and every color crayon they sell, I find it dishonest for them to sell these crayons as red when they are not. I have seen and used their red crayons, and these are not that same color.1Old batch didn t color wellI bought these several years ago, I was excited to find them for my preschool program since the 8ct next to never comes w/ a pink crayon. They worked great at first, then after the point wore down there was white in the middle of every dang crayon. We ve been suffering through since. The color can hardly be seen on white paper unless the kids press to the point of near breaking one. I m hoping it was a batch error and will give them one more chance... if the new batch I order is better I ll leave a better rating.2The best RED :)How is it that in a big box of 64 crayons there is only ever one TRUE red? Yes, admittedly there are variations but sometimes only a true red will work. It is one of the first colors to get used up around here so I was excited to find a dozen of these available to purchase to replace one at a time and have extras. These large crayons are about twice the size of the regular crayola crayons. They are a little bit taller and approximately twice the width. The only thing I do not like is that they do not fit in the regular crayola sharpener so going to have to sharpen by hand but it will be worth it to have plenty of reds around the house.5It's purple.Yep, it's a box of purple crayons. They worked out just fine. I bought them for my daughter, who was teaching Kindergarten. She gave all of her students a "Harold and the Purple Crayon" book and a one of these purple crayons at the end of the school year. They loved having their own "special" purple crayon.5Purple Crayons was My Theme....I was so pleased that I was able to buy just a box of purple crayons. I purchased these for an anonymous gift. At my work we dress bears for students who have children over the holiday season to thank them for attending our educational institution and to also assist them over the holidays with fun gifts for their kids. My bear this year is based on the children's books HAROLD AND THE PURPLE CRAYON. That is why I needed ONLY purple crayons. I love how chubby the crayons are for smaller hands to color with. My only issue is that the box they came in was a little mushed and ripped a bit other than that the ease of finding & purchasing just a box of purple crayons without driving all over was FANTASTIC! The delivery was fast as well and that is a plus too. Thanks so much!4No more fighting over the pink!As a Kindergarten teacher, crayons are a very important part of our day. Our school orders the large size crayons for the younger kiddos, but there is never any pink. I'd have one or two pink crayons from other random packs and the kids would have to share. I even had some who would hide the pink so only they could use it! (The mind of a 5 year old, right?) Anyways, I love being able to order these so now everyone has their own pink and there is no more fighting!5Big Gray!I'm a big fan of Crayola. As far as I'm concerned they're the only crayon brand. Oddly with their large crayons, these days you can only ever find them up to a 16 count. Gray is only in the 24 count, so this is the only way to get a large gray crayon for your kid. I will note that they are not washable, unlike all modern large crayons. But if you're just going to collect them it's a good deal5So handy if you just need one colorSo handy to have a bunch of the same color! We had to take all of the paper wrappers off of our (donated) Crayola crayons in order to melt them down for a batik project and I've learned that some crayons now have wrappers that are glued on. No doubt someone at Crayola thought this would be a good idea! It was horrible. But these are the old fasioned paper wrappers that come off like a dream. Perfect. Thank heavens some things still work the way they did when I was a kid.5Bigger than normal size crayons. While these are listed as large crayons, the description lists no dimensions or clarity and pictures aren t clear. These are more toddler crayons as they are roughly 2x the size of normal crayons. See picture I attached. I sent them back as they were not what I wanted.2Good Crayons.A second review on this product. I complained earlier cause I thought it had not been delivered. It was. My experience with Crayola crayons in my encaustic artworks is fabulous. I love using g the fat crayons as .y intention is to melt them. Lasts quite awhile.5
