Customer Reviews
These are fun! Some people wrote in review that these are difficult to use as chopsticks. They aren't. They grab food like they should, and they are fun! Try eating with them in the dark for adventure. As for the stickers on the handles, I'm fine with that. They are a novelty gift, and well worth the price.4I was pretty disappointed that these are not strongerI used one of these hooks for a project. It didn't survive! About three quarters of the way through, the hook snapped in half. Tried gluing to no avail. In the end, I had to use the next size up and cautiously used it. It finished the job. I was pretty disappointed that these are not stronger.3DON'T BUY THE GROUPING!They show what is supposed to be 3 different Crochet hook packs. The 12409 and the 82409 are EXACTLY the same! Save your money, unless you are giving one set as a gift, even then, just choose 2 of the lesser price. I gave this a 1 star due to duplicity.1Good range of sizes, but sticks to the yarnI wasn't sure which size needle to use to attain the proper gauge for my most recent afghan, so this set of needles was perfect. However, once I started using the hooks, I found that the plastic really sticks to the yarn, so each stitch is a bit uncomfortable and slower than with a metal needle. That aside, the hook shape catches yarn and draws up loops easily. Strangely enough, the hooks also have a strong odor for the first few days, but it wears off. Although the needles are functional, I find myself missing the weight and smoothness of metal and will return to it! Or maybe I'll try bamboo!3Not my favoriteI have been a crocheter for many years and have always used metal hooks. I guess I am just an old fart because I didn't really like the acrylic hooks. There was nothing wrong with them. They were not damaged. I will give them another try.4Great hooks. Nice and smooth...After looking for larger aluminum crochet hooks (P especially) and not finding them I started reading reviews about the acrylic ones and thought I would give them a try. These hooks are great! The hook moves through the yarn as smoothly as an aluminum one and the length is very comfortable to use.I highly recommend them if you have any problem with your hands, like arthritis. I have used plastic hooks, but realized that I was tugging at the yarn to get it to go through and it was hurting my hand. These really solved the problem. I flew through my crocheting last night with no pain or soreness this morning.5I loved these hooks.....until I broke one.I bought these hooks in October of 2015. They seemed sturdy, handled comfortably, and stitched smoothly. I began crocheting a large blanket and about 1/4th of the way through the project, the L hook suddenly snapped. Anyone who crochets knows that it's best to finish a project using the same hook you started with. Sadly, that is no longer an option. I was not unnecessarily rough with the hooks. They were not mistreated or mishandled and they were stored in a case. I realize they are acrylic but if they break that easily during normal crocheting, the quality is clearly lacking. I will have to look for a (metal) replacement.2Great price as always with AmazonGreat price as always with Amazon. I have been a knitter for years, and have only been crocheting for a year or so. These feel great in my hand and easy to handle. I have a full set of metal ones and wondered if I would be comfortable with these. I didn't experience any slipping or grip issues with the yarn or handling. Perhaps the bigger size helps those issues. Great for a beginner.5Great hooks at a fraction of the price of Clover hooksI have used Clover crochet hooks for as long as I can remember. They have always been my go to hook. I was looking for a 12mm hook and I wasn't able to find a clover hook that wasn't SOOO over priced so I thought I would give this a try. I am so glad I did. These hooks are so nice to crochet with. I am currently working on a blanket using Bernat Blanket yarn and I wanted to have a bigger stitch than the pattern called for. The 11.5mm hook has been a dream to work with. It is smooth and glides wonderfully across the yarn. These hooks are every bit as good as my Clover hooks at a fraction of the price. I am in love!!5Sturdy Beginner HooksGreat variety set and thick enough to survive dropping or leaning on, at this gauge--I have smaller needles in the same material, but only 2 have survived. These work well for having handy in your bag with your carrying-stash in case of sudden inspiration, but they aren't for finer work since they are apt to have little snags that mess up expensive funkier yarns or materials. They even catch on some of the "strings" I use for heavier pieces, and can ruin the texture if you aren't careful. I mostly keep them to stick in my pocket in case I have a moment to practice a new stitch on unimportant yarns or cords. Inexpensive set for trying out to see if you want to learn to crochet--but the smaller sizes break too easily and are frustrating to a beginner! At least, I found it so.4
