Counted Cross Stitch Christmas StockingI am currently working on this project right now and hoping to have it completed by Christmas for my newest grandchild. Everything is exactly described and is on par with other counted cross stitch kits I have purchased in the past. I love the design on this stocking! I especially like the way the floss is presorted as this saved lots of prep time. The only thing I added was I punched holes on the opposite side of the card to keep the unused floss with the appropriate color until needed. Since I have not yet completed the entire project, the only problem will be if I have enough material to finish it. Of course, I won't know that for a while as there is a lot of stitching in a project of this size. If you plan to do a project like this yourself, be sure to allow plenty of time for completion. I also like purchasing kits like this through Amazon because I have a wide range of product selection and price range.
5BeautifulThis was the quickest stocking I have made (9 done so far). It is primarily half stitches with 2-4 strands at a time.

I didn't finish in time for Christmas - but the new grandbaby is only 2 months old - so I figure it's OK. It is already looking adorable, and I'm about 60% through. The colors are great. I took another reviewers advice and punched a hole in the cardboard organizer to help keep it more organized.
5Not enough materials!I bought this to make a stocking for my grandson. I also received another Dimensions stocking kit (Stack of Critters) from my Amazon wish list at the same time. The Stack of Critters was missing all of the white floss. I emailed Dimensions in June and was told it was back ordered. In November they said it was still back ordered but they would send me DMC floss "as a courtesy". It is February and I still do not have it (polar bears are the main feature in this one too). I went ahead and did Snow Friends. I am an expert cross stitcher and have made over 20 stockings so I was dismayed that I was short quite a bit on two of the colors as I was near the end of this project. I called Dimensions over 2 weeks ago and said they could forget the white from previous as it is easier to match but I needed the pale and light gray. They said white was on the way and the grays would arrive in a week to 10 days. NOTHING. So I am sitting with an unfinished project, that as many said was difficult. The grays that DMC sells are not even close and I would have to rip it all out to start again. This is very upsetting.UPDATE: After several months, I finally received the missing floss. I finished the project in time for Christmas. It is an easy project until you get to the polar bears and the shading is tricky--the flosses are all so close in color. It DID turn out beautiful and I am pleased with the finished result--just wish I had all of the materials to begin with.
3Ran out of threadThe pattern and resulting stocking are nice. I have made 4 Dimensions Christmas stockings and this is the first one that I have run out of thread on. There were several colors (3+) that were drastically short on material. As with all stocking kits, plan to purchase material at the store to make a liner (without a liner, the stocking cannot reasonably be used).

5Huge stocking but seemed cuteI m sure this would have been cute, but after spending over 24 collective hours and lots of stress I quit working on it. Started at the bottom and worked up. Got about 3 inches up and couldn t see straight anymore. The colors are so similar and aren t labeled. The comments I read made this seem like a manageable craft for my sons first Christmas. Wrong. It got so frustrating that I would dread starting up again. And the stocking was huge!! Wish I could have finished but I don t have the sanity, time, or eyeball ability to continue on :(
3Just beautiful !I've done many (about 16) of the Christmas Stockings by Dimensions. I finish them with velvet backing, silk lining, and rope trim. When done they are stunning. I recommend them highly. Enjoy!
5Super Cute Snow Bears Stocking!I just finished stitching this stocking and it turned out adorable! It took me about 3 1/2 months working on it for about 2 hours, most days. The pattern is very easy to navigate. I had more than enough of all the colors except the light silvery blue that is used for the trees and snowflakes. The only thing that I didn't like about it was that the large white areas on top and bottom were marked to be half stitches using 4 strands of white. In the picture the white areas look very white and full. When I did it with half stitches it did not look this way. The Aida cloth it comes with is light blue and so doing the half stitches in white didn't fill it in all the way. The blue showed through a lot. So it just didn't look as full (like snow) as in the picture. So I took it out and used 3 strands of white and did cross stitches instead of half stitches and it looked much better! Yes, it was more work but it looked so much better, like it looks in the picture. It is a very, very cute stocking and it really wasn't that hard. It seems like the white areas are very time consuming but you don't have to switch colors often and its just straight white. So I put a movie on and just stitched. You hardly have to pay attention to it. The hardest part was the shadows under the bears because many of the colors are very close and you have to switch threads often. The white sections really weren't that bad. This was my first large project and it wasn't that bad.
5... extremely cute for my daughter -- I was extremely happy. I'm not the most experienced/fastest stitcherThis turned out extremely cute for my daughter -- I was extremely happy. I'm not the most experienced/fastest stitcher, so it did take a long time to complete. I want my daughter to have this forever, so I didn't use the felt backing. I bought white flannel to line the inside and protect the back of the stitching, and used a red checked fabric (matches the pattern on the toe almost exactly) for the back. I also added a gold jingle bell to the braided hanging loop. It turned out beautiful.
