Customer Reviews

We had so much fun doing this belly castWe had so much fun doing this belly cast. Had way more than enough supplies to do it. So easy. Made a great cast mold. Would deck definitely recommend this cast to anyone looking to do a belly mold!!! Warm water is key to smoothing it out. And always cut manageable strips. To make shaping easier 5Comes with everything you need.I enjoyed doing my belly cast, there was more than enough with the 5 rolls supplied. I made the cast in the pictures & another of just my belly for a different project I am doing, so I basically got 2 molds out of one box. I also had a little bit of plaster roll left over. I am going to buy more products to thicken it & smooth it out so I can design it but I am very happy with my purchase & experience with this product. Go for it! 5Great experience, fast and easy!Just wanted to say I loved this product! I bought it as a surprise for my sister in law; I was staying the weekend with her for her baby shower and we were able to set up, complete the cast and be cleaned up within about 2 hours. She said it was not uncomfortable other than a tiny bit itchy during the drying but that's to be expected. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because it would have been SO helpful if the kit had pre measured strips and included a tray to dip them in. The messiest part of it all was trying to cut the strips- plaster dust EVERYWHERE! And then having to wash out my mixing bowl that I used to dip the strips in.My only advice would be 1) wait more between 25-30 mins to remove the cast. We pulled it off at the recommended 20 and there were still a few moist bits that started to bend. And 2) save about 1/4 of a roll of plaster tape. When you are finished with the cast and it is fully dry, hold it up against the light and make sure you can't see any light shining through. Use the leftover plaster strips to patch any thin spots and to clean up the edges of the cast (they can be a bit rugged even when trimmed/sanded) 4love it!!! highly recommendWonderful kit! So easy to do, I did it all by myself. I suggest measuring the biggest part of your belly and cutting 3 size strips, large, medium, and small... Using a baking sheet, I added water and dipped each piece into the water and applied over belly. There was plenty of plaster strips so my cast is nice and thick!!! Instead of using vasaline, I used organic coconut oil so the plaster wouldn't stick to me. It wasn't very messy for me at all, but I'm very artistic and creative naturally. It took me an hour from start to finish. And it dried quickly which was awesome! I had a great time and would highly recommend this product to all expecting momma's!!!! 5Would have to buy again to make second time work. You need another person to help you if you are in your third trimester. I put too much Vaseline on my belly. While I was still placing plaster strips on my belly the cast started to slide around areas of chest, ribs, belly... all over. Had to use one hand to hold belly up while I finished placing rest of plaster strips where it was still needed. The cast dryed looking bigger, wider, crooked. Next time, I would use only a thin layer of Vaseline. Strongly recommend cutting out all 4 packs of plaster in strips before placements. Sitting still while a person places them will help make you a better cast. 3Perfect keepsakeThis kit was very easy to use. The only thing i would do differently is use olive oil or a stretch mark belly butter on my skin before doing the casting. They provide a petroleum based jelly & it took forever to wash off afterwards. They also don't provide a way to hang it in the casting kit- so you either have to make something on your own or buy the decorating kit.My cast turned out super cute! I highly recommend doing a belly cast! 5Did the job.The water need to be warm. If it gets cold, refresh the water. The plaster gets much smoother and sticks much better with warm water. The edges will be flimsy. The solution to this is going farther back than you need to with the ends then trimming off the excess before it s dry. That s what we did, and it worked fine. You can also reinforced the edges with extra strips once it s dry. I didn t have any problems with ours not drying or losing it s shape. It was starting to dry before we were even done adding layers. It says to have four overlapping layers, which we did, so the structure is thick and strong. However, we let it dry on a ball so it wouldn t lose its shape while setting. I just grabbed one of our kids balls that was the right size, cut off some of the tarp, and propped it up. No issues with it falling apart, staying wet, losing its shape, not wanting to stick to me, or anything like that even with the very thick layer of lubricant I used. That doesn t mean others didn t get a defective set, but ours was totally fine. It took nowhere near two hours, though. Start to finish, it was within half an hour. I started a show on Netflix when we opened the kit and stopped it when I peeled the cast off and left to shower, so I m sure. Haha. 5Great product! A few tips...Very easy to use and came out great! Here's a few tips I learned in the process...1. Less water will make it dry quicker.2. If you choose to do breasts and want more support, you can use a bra, saran wrap, or lift your hands above your arms (just work quickly if you this method). Your bra can be washed but might not be quite the same so don't use your favorite one.3. Dont put plaster water down the drain. If it gets on your clothes, let it dry and pick most of it off before washing.4. Save a roll (or more) of the plaster gauze. After 1 day of letting it dry, lightly sand, trim edges, and do touch ups. You can see where it is very thin by holding it up to the light and also by feeling where it is less sturdy. Also cut some strips the long way for the edges of the cast. This is important!!5. For tight areas like under the breasts, cut strips in half the long way.Have fun!! 5Love it!Most of the videos and tutorials I have seen there is always someone helping putting it on. Well that is not the case for some people. I did it all by myself! :) I precut 4 rolls like the instructions said, I kept 2 rolls uncut until the very end. I follow the instructions for the most part except I only did like 2-3 layers. Once it start to dry and I was able to take it off I put it on the floor and sat down and kept adding on more layers with the last 2 rolls left. I do have a huge mirror in my bathroom. It was a bit tricky to do since I was trying to minimize the moving around and breathing to get a good start mold. Can t wait for it to fully dry so that I can sand it and paint it! Edit: pictures of outside and inside painted 5Greatest bundle ever!!!!It was on my bucket list to make a belly cast but I thought we were done having kids. To my surprise, we were blessed with another baby and being the procrastinator that I am, I waited to the last moment to figure out how to do it. This kit was a life saver, it has everything you need to get it done. I m 5 5 and at the time of casting I was 215lbs rocking size XL maternity pants and a 36DDD to give you a size reference- and we had materials left over. It turned out great. 5
