Customer Reviews

Dont waste your money on thisWarning!!!!!! The 5/8 inch button is slightly larger than a shirt button. It is too small for a pair of jeans. Ironically on the package it says it's for jeans. What a joke. Baby jeans maybe. That's what I hate about Amazon, about half the crap you buy isn't what you expect it should be. Good thing these buttons were cheap. Don't sucker for these buttons. You'll be disappointed. How in the world someone could could 5 star this product is mind boggling. 1Great for jeans/pants.Much better quality than one of the cheap "40 pc kit" for around the same price that you may find here. The hardware is heavier duty. The nail heads are heavier and won't bend like the others. Wish I would have bought these buttons first. If you're looking for a button to replace a broken button on a pair of jeans. This product will do the job. The other cheap buttons aren't as good for jeans or pants, but probably okay for jackets. 5Works Great - No one can tell I've gotten fat!Perfect! Does the job. Sadly, I have used these to "expand" some pants waistlines. Soon, however, I will be moving them over to make for a "smaller" waist size. Mark my words, I will! 5Easy to use, attractive, no complaintsI would recommend this product to others. The buttons came exactly as advertised. The button is shiny, clean, and professional-appearing. The plating has not rubbed off the back as I wear the button on my pants. I have had no problems with skin reactions to the metal, and my skin is usually pretty sensitive. I have had the button attached to my pants for a few months now, and it is sturdy. I had no problem attaching the button to my pants. Attaching the button was fast and easy. I would not hesitate to buy this again. 5Easy-peasy!I was prepared to fuss a little with these after reading reviews about how hard they were to install, but all I had to do was mark the location with a felt tip marker, put the waist of the jeans face up on a hard flat surface, slip the backing under the mark, push the fabric all the way down around the tack, hold the edges of the top piece, gently tap the button with a tack hammer until it was engaged and then tap hard enough to drive the tack app the way into the face of the button. I strongly recommend using a tack hammer or something else with a small flat face because a regular carpenters or construction hammer will make it hard to hold things in place.Be aware that you can only really reduce the waist of the jeans by an inch or so; any more and you won't be able to close the zipper all the way. Still, these little gems allowed me to get another several months use out of my jeans while my weight dropped, so I highly recommend them. 5Worked well. Product is as pictured. Slightly larger than the buttons on Levi's button fly jeans, but will work as a repair. These arrived in a little ziploc bag rather than the Dritz retail packaging. They were as pictured, but that kind of made me wonder if they were genuine. They worked OK, so I have no complaints. I used one of the buttons to repair a broken front fly button on a pair of Levi jeans. These are slightly larger than the originals, but will fit. I'm giving them 4 starts because the are a bit flimsy.Other reviews of these buttons criticize them for being hard to work with. I used an awl to punch a hole in the fabric. Then I slid the barbed base through the hole, set the button on top of the barb and aligned it. Then flipped it over and set the button on a block of wood underneath. With a large flat punch I drove the base into the button.I had no problems getting the base to seat, but I did bend the button face a bit when I smacked the base once or twice too much. My advice is to drive the base a little ways, check it, then smack it again as needed. I was able to straighten the button out with a pair of pliers and a little pressure. The most important part is to have a metal punch close to the diameter of the barbed base, and a block of wood to set the button. If you try to just use a hammer to drive the base, you will likely bend it and be frustrated. 4Great purchase!Purchased these when my husband broke the button on his work pants. They are very heavy duty material and I was able to attach this without any problems! After several months, it has held up! No problems whatsoever! 5Snap on buttons put sow in buttons to shame.Bought this snap on button to replace a sow in button on dress pants which kept poping off and breaking due to me gaining weight. XDSome additional tools you might want to have a sewing seam ripper or your fatest sewing needle and 3" table clamps, vice grips. This product is kinda straightforward button female side goes into the snap on male side. You visually see the female button side the male side is hidden on the inside. The installation took some work but isn't very difficult.InstallationClear out all the remaining thread strands from the old button with a scissor. Locate where u want your snap on button. I choose nearest to the edge to maximize stretch and width. Use the seam ripper and poke it through the material as deep as possible to stretch the fibers out a regular needle is too narrow for this job. You may need to do multiple attempts as the hole generally closes after you remove the seam ripper. You don't actually want to tear the material just make a hole large enough for the male part to poke through to the female side.Once you manage to get the male side through the hole in the material the female side may not snap on easily as the clothing is in the way. Take your vice clamps and pinch them over both the male and female sides. Let The clamps do the work the pressure will be sufficient to snap the pieces together. Done! The snap on buttons are supported by a metal rivet compared to thread. Congrats you now have dress pants with a button used on jeans. The rivet will generally outlast the lifetime of the material the pants are made of. 5Can't get those pants to button, pork chop? Well, this is easier than dieting.I bought these no-sew buttons to add an inch to my jeans because I could no longer squeeze my fat ass into them after a winter of eating chicken wings and drinking draft beer. They work very well, though it took a little practice. I ruined one trying to hammer the button onto the little post thing that attaches it. Top tip: use some vice grips, set the jaws the the correct depth and squeeze the button onto the post. It's impossible to do with just your hands. They didn't come with any instructions so, you're welcome. 4Good quality, a little tricky to work with. These arrived in genuine Dritz retail packaging. They were as pictured. They are not as sturdy as original Levi's buttons, but that makes sense as they are attached with a barbed metal stuc.Other reviews of these buttons criticize them for being hard to work with. I used an awl to punch a hole in the fabric. Then I slid the barbed base through the hole, set the button on top of the barb and aligned it. Then flipped it over and set the button on a block of wood underneath. With a large flat punch I drove the base into the button. Just be careful and drive the base in slowly. Definitely use a punch. Just using a hammer will drive the base crookedly and bend it. 4
