Customer Reviews

Not a good product : (Just as many other reviewers have said. This thing broke my first time trying it. I also agree that the loop holes to thread your string through are too thin to accommodate the sealed or capped end of the lace (shoe lace). Plus it is so brittle that the loop will not expand even a teeny bit to get the end through, then perhaps spring back and secure the body of the lace. They need to make it out of a more pliable plastic. So, if the item you are restringing needs to be done using a shoe string style tipped drawstring, this threader will not accommodate the tip regardless of the width of the string being used.1Clumsy. No good in tight spaces. It broke! It made it harder to thread the string because you thread the cod through the eyehole on this, and the that makes the cord "double-wide". The plastic is hard and rigid, and not at all flexible. I'll go back to the tried and true safety pin method. 1Does exactly what I had hoped!I didn't really understand how it would work, but based on all the reviews I read I figured it would work. It sure did!I needed to be able to fish out some elastic from casings and string it through. I had about four items waiting for me. This worked on every single one of them. And, now that my daughters are sewing, this will make their first pair of pajama pants much easier. Great product!5Great tool. This is great; had a pair of pants with drawstring out and I had tried numerous times to put the drawstring in with a safety pin and the safety pin method did not work. I ordered this, received it and in no time I were able to put the drawstring back in my pants.Would recommend and would definitely buy this again if needed.Buy this and save time and do it with the right tool the first time, trust me. 5So easy to useSo easy to use! Wish I had discovered this sooner in my sewing. Can be used to get elastic or drawstrings thru casing. Really strong grip! I've made several hair scrunchies using this product, and also used to pull elastic thru casing of purse pockets and cording thru pant casing. Each time, product worked great. This bodkin works much better than the loop turner I previously purchased.5MUST HAVE FOR ELASTICThis is a must have for elastic, especially if you sew you casings BEFORE tacking down elastic or for replacing elastic. No more spending for ever wiggling a safety pin through your casing to thread elastic. Just put your elastic into the eye (I've used both 1/4" and 3/8" with great success) loop it back onto itself, thread bodkin through the casing and pull it through, bringing your elastic with it. I prefer to sew my casing before adding in elastic, I just feel like it makes a beater casing and stitch when you're not fighting with the elastic to stay in place and fight the seam to lay right, so this made my life 100x easier.5An utterly necessary tool I need this long bodkin as a necessary tool in the crafting I do (a technique called 'woven crochet.') The little ball at the end fell off after about a year of use on the first one I bought. The eye through which I thread the yarn on the replacement was slightly damaged and a little rough, which snagged some of the finer yarns. Unfortunately, I have found nothing else which works as well to weave the yarn through the crochet foundation. I have ordered another 2 of this item (between the 4 items, this included three suppliers) and hope that one of them will be flawless. Since they are so cheap (around five bucks each, including shipping) I will continue to use them and replace them as needed. 3Worked OK onceI have a few sweatshirts that have lost the hood drawstrings in the wash. I could not get them back in without some sort of help-- I had ideas for a DIY tool but found this and it looked like a better version of my idea. It didn't work exactly as expected-- there is an eyelet that you thread the end of the drawstring into, like a needle and thread. The eyelet is too small to push through the plastic or metal end cap most every drawstring has. (There are actually 2... both are too small) I had to use a small flathead screwdriver to carefully finesse it through the larger eyelet, which nearly snapped the tool. The plastic/nylon material it's made of is quite brittle. I was able to successfully re-string ONE sweatshirt, and just after I got it all the way through, the eyelet broke. In hindsight I should have used a smaller piece of intermediate string between the tool and the drawstring.3this turns a spagetti strap or threads a pull through a hoody perfectly.I had a shirt and my husband had a pair of pajama bottoms that had a drawstring that would pull out when we washed them. With this I can easily and quickly get the tie back in place 123....Works so much easier than using a safety pin and threading it through everyone should have one of these. The only reason I bought another is that we moved and I couldn't remember where it was packed, or they can last you a whole life time.5Great for thin elasticsThis is great to run thin elastic through a narrow casing. Just don't let your husband use it to pry something open with it....mine bent my old one, then tried to hide it! *rolls eyes* This is the replacement. I am hiding it!5You need this.I'm not a sewing expert. I decided to weave 1/4" ribbon through 2 rows of 13' of eyelet trim on each piece of trim. I tried by hand. Took 5 hrs to go 9'. Spotted this bodkin & ordered. I just finished weaving same ribbon thru all 13' of another row in 45 min. Enough said. I'm learning.5Broke right awayThe material used for this is too brittle. It ships bent into a card and as soon as the tool started to straighten while threading it broke. Maybe it would survive if you get one and soften it with a hair dryer to straighten but I'm not sure even that would work.To add insult to injury this PRIME product is not eligible for return so that's 4.00 wasted on a poorly made product.1Amazing tool for adding elastic to cloth diapers!!I make cloth diapers and bought this as recommended by a friend for adding the elastic to the legs and back of the diapers. I sew the casings in first so I have a really small hole (less than 1/2 inch) to insert the elastic and this tool fits perfect. It is smooth metal so it does not grab the fabric as I pull it through. It has little teeth that hold the elastic tight and the little ring slides down to tighten around the teeth so the elastic never slips. I have in the past used plastic versions of this but they are very flexible and don't hold the elastic tight enough so if you are not paying close attention the elastic can slip out and I end up having to take the diaper apart to find the end that slipped out. I wish I had known about this years ago, it would have saved me so much time and save me from having to use my seam ripper so often.5Simple is great Such a simple little thing can be so useful! I bought it to draw lead core through paracord to make sport whips. It works perfectly. Simply string the lead core/string/ribbon through the eyelet (like you would thread a needle), insert it into the tube/paracord and shimmy it through. The blunt ball-tipped end keeps the needle from poking through your cord and the length makes the whole process go quicker than a needle. 5
