Customer Reviews

I don't know how anyone found this usefulI could not get it to work. You place the thread into the v-slot and then run the threader down the needle pushing on the needle until the pusher catches the eye of the needle. Sounds like a good plan except that the pusher does not fit through the eye while pushing thread (or even without the thread for that matter). You can feel as it hits the eye but that is it. Very disappointing. It also feels like a cheap plastic. I though buy buying this well know brand I would get good quality. Fortunately Amazon does stand by their products and I am returning this. 11 Push & My Brother Is ThreadedQuestion: How many fuss words does it take to thread my Brother seeing machine with the automatic threaded built-in? Answer: A bunch! That is a bunch until I got this Dritz! This thing WORKS! I don't have to go blind or out of my mind threading my Brother any longer. With this, the thread goes horizontally. The needle goes vertically, and with one push, it is threaded!!!!I love it! 5It makes it easy to put the needle in with the flat side ...I use this for changing needles on my sewing machine and serger. It makes it easy to put the needle in with the flat side facing toward the back, which is a must on both machines, and then hold it in place while I tighten the screw. On the serger, it eliminates worries about dropping the needle into the machine as I take it out and put a new one in. Before I got this little thing, I had all sorts of problems with the needle turning and slipping in my fingers on both my sewing machine and serger. I haven't tried to thread a needle with it since both machines have working needle threaders. 5Look for the video because the package is useless for instructionAfter I FINALLY figured out how to use it, I found it works fairly well. I miss the attached one that was original to my machine, but this one will work. The packaging (front and back) offers little to no help in using this product. Dritz makes a lot of wonderful sewing notions, but the need to work on labeling and product use instruction. 4Five StarsAnother fantastic Dritz item!I love these, wish I would have known about them many years ago. Can be used to thread a machine or a hand needle, also one end of it has a insert to hold the needle when replacing it in the sewing machine, Incredibly easier to replace needles. The threader is easy to use but it will take a few tries to get the hang of it. 5Amazing Little ToolAs a machine embroiderer with a multi-needle industrial machine, needle breakage is a fact of life. The needles on my machine are about one-half inch apart and with my big, clumsy fingers, trying to replace the broken needle can be a nightmare. My fingers just don't fit comfortably in the space between them. This little tool is a godsend! The tool itself is 3" long, with the needle holder on one end and the needle threader on the other. The needle slides into the holder end, which holds it steady so you can slide it up into the hole for the needle with one hand, and tighten the holding screw (on the machine) with the other. My particular machine requires that the eye of the needle sit 5 degrees off of true and this holder give you leverage to adjust the needle.I haven't used the threader end as I can still see well enough to do it freehand plus my sewing machine has an auto-threader function, but for those that need it, it's a wonderful helper. I have used similar needle threaders in the past and they really do work well.I like to tuck them in as gifts for my embroidering and sewing/quilting friends. For the casual mender to the heavy-duty seamstress types, this inexpensive tool will make your life easier. 5Took some learnin It took a bit of figuring to use the threader. In the meantime I bent the bit of steel. That is easily fixable; bend it gently back straight. I noticed the arrow molded into the handle. That faces upward. Thread inserts perpendicularly to the needle. Then push, gently, the thread through the eye once you align the pusher wire with the needle eye. Loop goes thru eye, and you hook that with the little hook part, pulling the thread thru.It s clever, just not intuitive, or maybe better directions on the package. I would buy again. 4A must have!My most favorite gadget of all! Once I learned to use it, I use it all the time. I have 5 working sewing machines plus 2 sergers in my sewing room at any given time. I do not have time to screw with needle threaders with bent hooks or a machine with no needle threader. I have 3 of these and periodically but them if I see them on sale 5Wish it was easier...often takes a few tries to get it threaded.First, had to watch a video on YouTube to figure it out, the package directions weren't enough to figure out the threader. Even knowing how to do it, it still isn't as easy as I hoped. Once it pushes the thread through the needle, you have to VERY CAREFULLY remove the threader or it just pulls the thread right out with it. I've found that having a pin ready in my left hand to snag the loop after the threader pushes it through is the best way. The little hook on the threader itself is pretty useless. 3Metal threader part should be much sturdierMalfunctioned very quickly. Surrounded by the plastic housing, the center metal post that pushes the thread through the eye is not nearly stiff enough and once bent, the whole gadget is useless. If you do not get it perfectly aligned with the eye hole on the 1st try, that piece of metal will bend. Not even eligible for return to Prym Consumer USA so a waste of money - I didn't expect perfection but neither did I expect it to be so very flimsy. If the metal were sturdier, it would have been great. 2
