Clean Cuts, Worked Like a CharmPurchased so I can create and label the tops of essential oil bottles. Worked liked a charm. Makes clear cuts.5Old PackageSo, I purchased the 3/4 Inch in Old Package, 1/2 inch in the new. The Older Package = more solid/heavy, feels nicer and more luxurious. But it takes up more space because of it's size/thickness, and the fact that it does not have the handy dandy lever that keeps it closed. The newer package is sleeker, but also cheaper looking/feeling, and contrary to the picture, it is this ugly pale-concrete colored plastic. But it seals shut nicely (flattens) to take up SUCH less space. Performance-wise, it is a joy to use the older package, but because of the weight, it's also a wee bit harder to control. The newer package has its own issues: more difficult to control because it's so thin/light, just kind of pops out of place more easily. If I were to do it again, I'd probably go for storability and get the newer packaging because I don't punch nearly enough holes for the comfort to make or break me. If you're going to use this thing all day, every day, look for the older package: luxury over storability!4Nice.I bought this to punch circles in my wedding invites, to make them look like a ticket. We got a heavier-weight paper and I was nervous after printing the outline where the circle should go directly on the invites that this may not make it through 150 invites. But it did! Perfectly! No issues at all, every circle came out perfect and it was easy to see where to punch.5Worked well for what I needed it to do.This review is for the "old package" version of the 3/4 inch circle punch. The "new package" version may be just as good, but I don't know. I bought the punch to cut reinforcement circles for snaps out of ~50 mil (~1.25 mm or slightly thicker than a US dime) rubber. The rubber (just barely) fit into the punch and I was able to punch out well over 100 circles with no problem. I can't speak to other uses for the punch but for my purposes it worked like a champ. The punch feels very solid and produces a clean round punch.5GREAT with a tiny room for improvementThis product absolutely did the job. It is sturdy, cuts well, has GREAT depth. My only complaint is the the very back edge of the throat has a slight bur/flashing from the casting. We were using this for an extremely precise purpose, and so we had to create a tiny shim in order to "level" the way the punch accepted the stock to be cut. Otherwise, absolutely LOVE this product for its purpose. The equivalent Fiskar product did NOT allow for the depth of cut into the area of stock needed. Highly recommended. Even more highly recommended if the factory would de-bur the throats.5Works ?Didn't like at first. I use it to punch out little circles of bandaid tape to cover my small skin hematomas but I wouldn't punch complete circle, only about 90%. Then I thought, it's metal, try harder, if it breaks it didn't work anyway.Well harder WAS the answer. Now happy4the metal die actually cracked and warped making the punch useless. If the part wasn't cast from cheap pot ...
After cutting a mere 30 or 40 holes in thin card stock, the metal die actually cracked and warped making the punch useless. If the part wasn't cast from cheap pot metal this wouldn't have happened. Pretty disappointed as it worked well up until it broke.
1PUNCHES HOLES but catches your hand as wellThe product arrives fast and looks good. It makes holes fine. The only issue is a design flaw where as you are punching the holes your hand curls which folds your skin and gets caught in the bottom part. So will work if punching holes vevy slowly or if you place on table or desk and then press down from the top. As for using as handheld puncher you need to be careful not to get your hand cause. That is the only issue with this item. I added photo of product in hand from side angle so you can see how base catches your hand as well.Oh also I used max 2 sheets of construction paper when punching holes. If you put more than that it will be hard to punch holes. Also seems better if you cut paper into strips first then feed them into puncher as you punch the holes. regular printer paper is about 8.5x11. The puncher is 1inch and 3/4 wide and 4 inches long. so cut your paper into say 2 inch by 8.5 ( so basically cut the printer paper every 2 inches to make strips to punch holes.). Having strips is faster and easier than trying to punch big sheet of printer paper or any paper you are using.oh the item also has a locking clip at the bottom/ back so when not using you lock it and put it away. not a must have feature but it does help to make the item more compact for storage is desk or small area. Also prevents something accidentally getting inside and for better portability.I would also recommend not getting this wet since metal part and will for sure rust, for for home/store arts and craft good. if using for garage or outdoor project just be careful to keep dry and away from moisture.Too soon to tell durability and how much use you will get but has little weight on it at 5.4 oz which is from mostly metal and then plastic covering. and circles are true to size at 3/4 of an inch or .75 as statedhow you found this helpful if so hit like and let me know. thanks3Perfect, punches clean even after 300 circles
I am a fan of EK Success punches and this one lived up to my expecations. Punches cleanly (even after the 300 circles I punched out) and is super easy to use. The price was very competive with my local Michaels.Shipping was super fast as well.
5Solid and functionalI punched out several hundred discs out of 300 weight paper with this circle punch. Each of them came out clean with no issues. I found the fact that you could see exactly what you would punch out as especially useful as I had preprinted the paper with patterns. This is a very well designed product.5Very-NiceWorks like a charm. I use this to punch holes on poster board on patterns I make. Get the nylon hanging hook and hang all your pattern pieces on the hanger and put in a closet or rod- whatever you use- after you've sized you're muslin and put it on medical paper. Spray adhesive is very messy. Wish I could find a different adhesive. Cannot use spray indoors. This is called a Bunny-punch in the industry and the regular ones are almost $100- not happening.5Using it as a pattern making rabbit punchRabbit punches for pattern making are kind of expensive. This was a much cheaper option and it works just as well at putting holes in the top of a pattern for the pattern hooks to go through.5
