Customer Reviews

louder and cleaner, but?....I put this into a small Marshall practice amp. It's louder and cleaner than what was in the original cabinet, but I am not sure if it was "better". Does anyone have experience with using both the Alpha 6" and Beta 6"? I use a "modelling guitar preamp" to feed the Marshal so it is basically a PA speaker. I use the clean channel input. Knobs pretty much all on center. Some guitar mod websites carry the alpha speaker, but not the beta. Just wondering. 4Good for guitar or bassAt first I was a little concerned. The pair sounded great on guitar but not so good on bass. But these are bass speakers. After giving them a few more watts, let's say 500, they really came to life. Worked well across the entire register of a 6 string bass, thinned out a little in the highest range of guitar but came back with more gain. Wouldn't use for thrash or shred but they definitely can doom. 4hard to complain about theseThese are a really good jack-of-all-trades replacement speaker for bass amps, PA's, even a few hi-fi applications (I've used them in a pair of Klipsch speakers, as an example). Currently I have a pair installed in a Peavey 215D with good results. 5Good buy for the Price!Bought a pair of these to breathe some life back into an old dual 15 inch Bass cabinet, and I was instantly worried that these felt a lot lighter then the original speakers and wouldn t for some reason pack a punch, but holy hell I was wrong nearly rattled my teeth out at the gig last night. These sound better then the original ones ever, did and cut the weight of the cabinet by 15-20 pounds. Will update later if anything changes but an excellent buy for the price! 5Works great. I had to cut around a little on ...Speaker came quickly in the mail. Works great. I had to cut around a little on the particle board of the enclosure to make it fit. Which I had read about in the reviews of this speaker. Also had to modify the two connector clips. But I could have expected that for almost a thirty year old enclosure. After that I ordered a replacement for the other speaker. 5What's not to like?A good choice if you're looking for sound quality and good specs and you're on a budget. Are there better speakers out there? Yep.... but considering the cost, these babies will kick out decent low end and lower mids - excellent for 2 way PA cabs provided you don't hit them with a ton of kick drum or bass guitar. I would recommend these! 5Great Replacement Speaker.I used this speaker to modify a guitar amp for use with a bass. The amp was a Fender Princeton 650 (65 watt) and the results were fantastic. Even with the open backed cabinet the bass response was very deep and full. I'm not an expert but am extremely satisfied with the quality and sound of this product and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to modify or upgrade their amp. 5Does the job, overall satisfied. It works in my old Mackie, but if it gets too loud with even coming close to lets say "half way" in terms of the bass adjustment... it starts popping bad. 3My favorite bass speakers for the last two decades.I ve been putting eminence Betas in my bass cabinets for a long time, for almost 20 years at this point. The 4x12 I built is still going strong after 6-7 years. I put some in a 2x15 Randall cab in 2003 and it has been passed down through a few different people and is still going strong, despite many tours and a lot of use.I run a lot of power and push these speakers hard and they just keep going. Did I mention the tone yet? Smooth, great bottom end (even on that low A or B) and crisp midrange that gives my distortion a great crunch without being harsh. So what else would I choose for my latest build?I have a 1x15 cab that needs a driver, so I will be ordering another one soon. Thanks, Eminence! 5Very good 15.I had a blown 15 in a Behringer single 15 bass amp combo cabinet. I use it as an extension only. I bought the cab at a garage sale for $1 with the amplifier gone and a blown 15 but the cab is in perfect condition. Matches exactly my 12" Behringer 60 watt bass workstation amp. I added an extension jack to the 12" 60 watt model and run it at 4 ohm. This works great and more than doubles the stage sound of this very effective and flexible bass rig. I have $200 in the whole thing and it can gig. I have used this 15 with guitar and a 100 watt tube head also. Good sound no problems. 5
