Useful quilting tool
Just what I wanted. There is a great Missouri Star Quilt Company tutorial on you tube for using this tool to make a Dresden plate pattern. I made a pillow with it, no problem. Wooden tool included and is great for getting the points pointy!
5Very easy and inexpensive tool.
I was so happy to find this little tool at such a great price. It is simple and easy to use even for me - a beginner. The instructions enclosed were very clear. I saw what I now know is a Dresden plate on a table at my first quilter's retreat 4 months ago and I went looking for instructions to make it. When I asked around someone told me about this tool. I was able to easily duplicate the pattern in spring colors for St. Pat's day. I made two of them as table toppers - not as part of a quilt. I placed them on a green tablecloth and will use them later on a white tablecloth. Very versatile. It could easily be made as a trivet (hot pad type) using insulating fill and I am now in the process of figuring out how to make a matching teapot cozy. When that is done, I will use the directions to make the fan pattern. Maybe I found the fan pattern on you tube video, but all it is is 5 spokes of the plate and 1/4 of the circle. I will also use the pattern to make a rememberance pillow out of men's ties. The tool came with a circle template for the center as well as a wooden tool which I use for poking out the points. That tool is an added bonus as I'm sure I'll find many points to poke in the future. I am very happy with this purchase.
5Beautiful and Easy Design with this Tool
I ordered this little device because I watched Jenny Doan of the Missouri Quilt Company make a beautiful dresdan plate design and I had to try it and guess what, it was as easy as she said.
5Will use a lot!
Excellent template and turning tool-easy to follow instructions.
5easy to read and use
This is a quality tool, easy to read and use. And I love the hard cover holder it came with which gives detailed instructions with pictures in color for making a Dresden quilt. This is a real bonus and is much appreciated. I have purchased a quilt pattern from another firm and was very, very disappointed. For about $9.00 I received one 8 1/2" X 11" sheet of typing paper with a small photo of the quilt design on one side of the paper with some written instructions and on the other side another small photo of design with hand written instructions and required materials. So you see, I have reason to really appreciate the Dresden pattern and easy instructions.
5Remove the protective film!
Don't forget to remove the protective film! This arrives looking scratched, but it is actually a removable protective film. It took me a bit to realize that, and after reading some of the poor reviews, I think this was their issue, too. Seems easy to use, and I look forward to making a few projects with this!
very nice I am planning on making a Dresden plate out of my late husband ties. It has some none slip stuff on it. I think it will do well on the slippery tie material
5Easy Dresden Quilt Tool Set
The picture showed it would come with a bamboo tool; I ordered two for my members of my quilt group, Mahogany Thread, and when the product arrived it contained only the acrylic templates. Needless to say I was disappointed to hand them half of the expected product!
2I am having fun
I have never made a Dresden Plate pattern before and have some extra ideas to make more of a flower pattern from the orginal idea . I have sooo many wedges sewn, turned and pressed waiting for me to embellish to my own creation.Yes I am having fun!!!
5Makes very easy dresden plates
Makes very easy dresden plates. This does not come with the circle that many dresden plate makers come with, however, in my opinion, you do not really need that.Since this makes many different sized dresden plates, a one size circle would not be helpful. Its easier to just make your own center circles from template plastic in the sizes that you want.
