    SCHALLER COMPATIBLE STRAP LOCKS FOR HALF THE PRICE FROM FENDERI used Schaller strap locks for years. These seem to be the exact same thing from Fender. I have many straps that are outfitted with Schaller strap locks, they fit these Fender strap buttons fine.The Fender ones are half the price of the Schaller model that looks and functions identically.I have 32 guitars and basses, I'm converting everything except my Martin D-35 to have strap locks. I don't take the Martin out of the studio so I'm not worried about it.You can buy just the Fender strap lock buttons to go on the guitar. This is nice if you already have lots of straps with strap locks on them. Just buy the strap buttons for your guitar for around $5 here on Amazon.When these strap locks are properly installed I've never dropped a guitar, it's total confidence. Unlike others you can't accidentally bump these and have them let go. I learned that the hard way.Good music to all!5Conceptually this is like playing with the neck "more vertical"Changed my life. Fundamentally altered the way I play guitar.I'm able to setup my straps so that I can hang the guitars from the neck side of the strap and let the tail be supported by the tail end of the strap.Conceptually this is like playing with the neck "more vertical", like as if I were sitting and had the body between my legs. Realistically it's not that exaggerated, but the effect is like having the guitar mounted to a stand. I don't have to do any work to keep the guitar in playing position even when I'm playing pretty aggressively. I could never have this experience when I couldn't trust my strap buttons!I recommend using a dab of blue "Loctite" (Permatex threadlocker for example) when you mount the locks on your strap. You don't want those coming loose.Using these straplocks on 5 string basses and on 6 and 7 string guitars, on Levy, DR, and Perri straps.5Awesome straplocks- tried and trueI have been using the same strap locks for almost 40 years. My very first electric guitar had them and I have never found anything else that comes close. These are identical to the Schaller strap locks - they are Schaller strap locks - except they're stamped "Fender". Just be certain did you screw down the retaining nut firmly onto the washer on the top of your strap. I didn't realize one of mine had loosened bit and during a gig it came off. Not true. There s even a video on how to change these out and that is not accurate either. Look at the photo of the screws. The left screw was taken out of my stock reissue tele. The right screw is from the Fender straplock kit. Note that it is NOT the same screw and has a smaller base and shaft. The head of the old screw is too big to fit into the cavity of the strap lock peg.Unfortunately the screwhole in the tele is also too bored out and therefore I can t install without modifying the guitar and getting some glue and possibly another screw. Such a bummer as I bought this Fender part to avoid this kind of thing.2Great Product, but be aware that this is NOT interchangeable with Schaller.These have almost the exact design as Schaller straplocks which I use on all of my guitars. When I needed an additional set for a new strap, I saw these and since they were cheaper and looked exactly the same, I bought them. Unfortunately with the Fender version, the part that you attach to your guitar strap will not fit over the Schaller buttons.That doesn't mean this isn't a great product, because I think it is. I just want to make people aware that these are NOT interchangeable with the original Schaller version even though they look exactly the same to the naked eye. If you don't already have the Schaller version on some of your guitars these should be great!5Straplock Struggle - It Shoud Already Work Perfectly.Looks like a nice product. One Straplock is hard to attach or detach, before I installed this one Straplock, I had trouble detaching it from it's strap button and then after installing it on the guitar, it still hard to attach and detach. It takes a little effort, I have to place the guitar down on a flat surface so that it is stable while I hold the guitar down with one hand and I have to struggle to attach or detach the Straplock with the other hand. In the past, when I have purchase this product, it did not have this problem. I know what your thinking, "did I screw in the screw all the way on the strap buttons?" Yes, I did. I have a feeling this is a "quality control issue". You may want to look into this. Over time the strap lock may loosen but then maybe it won't, why should i have to wait for it to break-in? It should already work perfectly.2Good product. I have multiples.These things bite and won't let go! Your strap would have to break, or your buttons would have to fall out in order to drop your guitar.I bought this set to try out and I really liked it. I have since installed these on all my favorite guitars. They don't look that much different than the factory originals, so they won't make your guitar look funny. If you want, you can even use a non-straplock strap on the buttons.The only issue I have is that the strap locks fit loosely onto the buttons so that they can swivel as you move around, but they jiggle and make noise as a result. Not a big thing though.4Good not greatThese are good but not as good as the schaller strap lock. Also, I had a hard time getting them on to my thicker straps.Update: I would not recommend these. The post came apart after a couple weeks and I had to pretty much destroy the lock to get it off my guitar.1Works fine, here's how to make it perfect:I bought two sets of these, for two different guitars. They work great, I'm 100% satisfied, and you don't need to spend more money. Yes, there are two straplocks in each package -- the product description doesn't make that clear at all. Two, as in one pair, as in one for each end of your strap.Here's what you should know:1) Fender's wood screws are smaller than my guitars' original screws, so Fender's screws don't lock down. The big original screws don't fit through the small hole in the new Fender button. Easy solution: put two pieces of toothpick in each screw hole on the guitar body, and a drop of good ole wood glue on the screw threads. Works fine -- the new screws are locked down, and won't pull loose.2) The round pull-pin head screws onto machine threads on the shaft, and can work itself loose. A couple reviewers here report that it came apart -- that would be a royal pain if the strap is attached to the guitar. Easy solution: unscrew the head, put one teensy drop of blue Loctite on the threads, screw the head back on, and let it set for twenty minutes. You're done.Four stars, because it's a great product, but Fender could easily have avoided both these problems.4BEWARE the pins come off and its very difficult to get the broken straplock off to fix.After the second time of this happening I am done with them. I just removed them and and going to try the Dunlop ones. The pin will come undone and you cant get your strap off anymore. You have to get pliers and grab the very tiny head of the pin protruding and yank HARD to get the thing off. Took me like 5 mins of trying to grab the damn thing. First time it happened i did all this and fixed it with some teflon tape thinking the pin would stay. Nope. Lasted about 5 months and came off again. FAIL1
