Customer Reviews

Cant see during day! well this is about a piece of junk. What good is it if you can't even see it during the daytime. I have to take the stupid thing into my bedroom to use it. I just threw in the garbage it's not worth the hassle to try to return it. 1IT WILL BREAK AFTER A FEW MONTHS. This tuner works great and is unobtrusive, attractive, and accurate. Unfortunately I've owned TWO of them and they BOTH broke at the hinge of the clip. I thought the first was a fluke, the second did the exact same thing. Get one with a beefier clip. 1Really nice tuners and I've tried them all Really nice tuners and I've tried them all. I really like the shut off feature when folded back. Will definately buy more for my other guitars. 5Finally, a tuner that gives STEADY read-outs This is a very handy tuner. It is quite accurate - a guitar tuned with this tuner always pleases my listeners. I have several guitars & ukes. I have several of these tuners so that each instrument has one. I am a tuning junkie so I have bought & used many different brands. This tuner is the only one where its read-out minimizes jitter & jump-around due to overtones. A stringed instrument tuned with it always makes my ears smile. Aloha from Hawaii. 5GENIUS Best tuner ever. No nonsense. No on or off power button to fuss with. Just flip it into position and it turns on. Turns off when you fold it closed. One step gone. GENIUS. Catches low notes well (I play cello) 5Happy camper here The FT-2 is responsive and accurate, but what's most impressive to me is the intuitive design: lift the display to turn it on, push down to turn it off. So many tuners are designed with a neck destined to be broken. This design works. It effectively grips the heel of an acoustic instrument so you don't even have to swivel the neck of the tuner as you might need to were you to attach it to the headstock. All in all, thanks for a good product. 5just a pretty significant design flaw that renders it useless Decent enough tuner, but there is a small plastic tab that activates the power. When the unit is folded flat, it presses a switch that turns the unit off. After 2 weeks of light use, the tab broke, meaning the tuner does not turn off. Battery dies quickly. Again, decent tuner, just a pretty significant design flaw that renders it useless. Recommend the Korg version which has an actual power switch. 2Easy and accurate Eric Steckel (a pro player) turned me on to this tuner. If he endorses a product it is nothing short of stellar, just like his playing. 5Quite a good cheap tuner I've been using this tuner on the peg head of my acoustic steel string guitar for the last 7 months. It's very convenient to use as there's no on-off button - just swivel it towards you to switch it on and away from you to turn it off. I think the battery lasted over 4 months before changing, using it 4 to 5 times a week to tune up.I can see how it could be easily broken at the hinge as it's a bit flimsy and all plastic, but I clamped it at a suitable angle and was reasonably careful when swivelling it on and off. It's definitely accurate and easy to use.The display is not too bright but I don't play in public so it's nice, small and easy to use for my needs.I'd still be using it except I treated myself to the Polytune Clip which is a more expensive, well made and professional metal tuner. It's no more accurate than the Fishman FT-2, and took me a little while get used to quickly turning it on and off while opening and closing. It has a very bright display which I guess would be better on well lit stage. It's higher quality suits my Levin Goliath guitar, but I'm still fond of the little Fishman. 4sympathetic vibration proof design: perfect for recording sessions! I own a lot of clip-on tuners retailing from $10 to $60 and they all suffered from the same problem: an irritating rattle or vibration when certain notes and chords are played, making them useless for recording sessions. All except this Fishman FT-2! Yes, it's an ordinary tuner and does its job like most tuners: accurate and steady readout, bright display for daylight or night use. And, although I didn't care for use of the head unit as a giant flip on-off switch initially, it has grown on me and is easier to operate than a tiny button. The FT-2 lacks some of the bells and whistles common to most tuners such as calibration and assorted tuning modes so only buy if you stick to the A 440 standard and prefer chromatic mode. Also, the rubber padding doesn't mar or react with the finishes of my Takamine and Romero Creations guitars and ukuleles, albeit I wish the clip spring strength was greater. The sympathetic vibration proof design is worth its weight in gold to me and I plan to buy more for my other guitars and ukuleles. 5
