Customer Reviews
A nice, heavyweight 100% cotton paperThis is a nice, heavyweight 100% cotton paper that comes as separate loose sheets in a reclosable cardboard packet. It's stiff like thin cardboard and dries with minimal buckling. It fits perfectly in a Guerrilla Painter 5x7 box and in many inexpensive picture frames. Although the description refers to deckled edges, the edges in the packet I received are all crisp clean cut, not deckled.5I absolutely love this paperI absolutely love this paper. I wanted to try out some 300lb watercolor paper before making an expensive investment in a larger size and quantity. I'm extremely impressed with this block of paper. I really, really wet the paper so that every single inch was shiny and wet and still it did not buckle or pill even a little. Fantastic! The colors dry vividly on the paper. Withstood several layers of abuse with inking, spattering and many many washes. My only complaint is that the paper is so thick and rigid it's a bit difficult removing it from the rest of the block. I ended up using a butter knife to slice through the sealed sides. This paper did precisely what I bought it for and this brand is the most economically prices I've seen when it comes to 300lb watercolor paper.5My go-to brand of Watercolor Paper right now...What impresses me the most is how quickly the pigment is absorbed into the paper, which cuts down on drying time a lot. It works well for me but doesn't leave a lot of room for error, so keep that in mind when working with this paper. As for the glue on the sides, I score the glue first with a shallow blade before using a bone folder (or a letter opener... or a butter knife) to get the paper safely out.5Every single sheet is unusable !I have been buying this paper online for over a year because it s cheaper than getting it locally. This time there is a line that appears darker then the rest across the center of the paper when I apply my water color. It completely ruins the piece, it wasn t just on 1 sheet it was every single sheet. I would like this item replaced or a refund. If neither action is placed then I now know to no longer to purchase this item from seller.1Love it!I'm a watercolor beginner and as you know it can get costly trying to find what works best for you. I really like this paper because I work with a lot of water. I did rip my first attempt at removing it from the block, but discovered a little heat from my blow dryer made the process much easier.Given I'm a beginner I think I'll wait beforeInvesting in additional 300pd but very glad I did. Below is a little winter & fog painting to show how it holds color. No regrets!5Great Buy good valueI love this paper. There is no need to tape it down. It never buckles. It is thick and has the perfect texture not too rough and not too smooth. I use a watch knife to cut between the pages to remove it with no problems. No ripping no tearing I don't understand why other people are having trouble removing the pages I am new to watercolor and I have no problem with it. I love it it works great. These pictures of my first time using watercolor paints and this paper.5Good paper for the moneyIt can go through a printer to transfer images. And it wont buckle even when it is not taped down. It does want to grab the paint, so soften your edges immediately when using wet on dry method5An affordable quality paperI love this paper. It is an affordable alternative to the more expensive 300 lb 100% cotton papers out there. I will say that it is a bit more delicate than other papers I have used. If you apply tape, make sure to use a hair dryer or something to loosen up the adhesive before trying to remove it. It is VERY thirsty paper. The ad states that it has sizing inside and out, but I don t think as much surface sizing as some others. All things considered, I still love this paper, and will continue to use it for my watercolor painting.5Wonderful paper!Wonderful paper! I am making watercolor cards and the paint really flows well. The block style helps for flat paper and no warping. Tip: Use a craft knife to separate the paper from the glued block. I tore a side of my card when I lifted without it. Happy Painting! Hope this was useful to someone!5Now that I know the difference, I love it!I'm a beginner at watercolor, but I can tell the difference between this cotton paper v. wood pulp right away. The paper takes the paint well, yet allows me to lift over and over without pilling. The colors seem to be more vibrant and reliable. And...now that I understand what a block is as opposed to tear-out sheets or loose papers, I love it because I don't have to tape down the paper, I can leave it on the block and just slice the page on two sides when all is dry and finished. Great for travel for that reason alone.5
