Customer Reviews

Ernie Ball or D'addario are better than theseGOOD STRINGS, they sound GREAT, BUT THEY LOSE TONE VERY QUICKLY, within 2 hours of playing. I now know why my GIBSON's are coming to me new with D'ADDARIO strings on them. LOL, GIBSON 'MEMPHIS' doesn't use GIBSON Strings on their new Guitars. A new ES-335 I just bought had D'Addario strings on it (.46 - .10). LOL, when I did the 1st string change I saw the multi-colour ball ends.GIBSON 'MEMPHIS' ships their new Guitars with D'Addario's on them, WOW !!!2Great strings, stay in tune, nice price.First time that I have used these strings and the quality is great. They have a nice, brite tone with good lows, but not overpowering. My new guitar is a Les Paul Custom Epiphone and I typically use the bridge pick-up and these strings sound great. I plan on re-stringing my Les Paul with these again.5Wish they were more durable, but maybe I was just unluckyI really liked the sound, very crisp and vivid, as described. My only problem is that the G string broke after 2 weeks of use. I'm a beginner and I only play after getting home from work, 1 or 2 days a week, for about 1 to 2 hours. Very mild and occasional use I'd say, I'm not a pro. Maybe I was just unlucky. I had always used D'Addario before but wanted to give these a try, I have got more life out of D'Addario strings for sure. I'll try the Ernie Ball next. Strings are good though, just wish they were more durable.3Love these on a Gibson Les Paul, really appreciate the 'extra' stringsThese strings sound really good on my Gibson Les Paul Classic. After years of trying numerous other brands, I've settled on these for the Les Paul. They sound great, stay in tune well (once stretched), and last a long time. In this packaging, I really appreciate the two extra First and Second strings as it saves me from using a complete set just to replace a single broken string.5Very pleased with sound and stabilityI am impressed with these strings for their longevity, stability, feel, and sound. I play them on an SG and the set I am using now have around 12-14 hours on them but they sound and feel brand new. I play in a band, rhythm and lead, and play live about four hours per week. I ve kept that pace for about five years and have used many other brands of strings on this guitar, but this set is the first that have been consistently good. These strings stay in tune on this guitar. That simple sentence is not one that I have been able to type in recent years as I ve had so many tuning problems (especially G and B) that I considered replacing the machines and nut. Out of habit I tune between songs, and during my most recent set I noticed that the guitar stayed solid for three hours (about 15 reps on songs). The feel is smooth, equivalent to the more expensive (and nice) NYXL from D Addario. The sound cuts through the mix very well. I plan to stock up on these strings and hope the quality is consistent from pack to pack.5They Snap by the pickups with not tension!!! I like the crunchy sound of those Basses!!!I purchased the Brite wires strings set by Gibson because of the good reviews had... but when I restring my LesPaul, the 2nd and 3rd strings snap without to get 4:40 tuned. The crazy thing was, they snapped by the pickups and not by the tuners or by the bridge weirdest thing uhhh so I ended installing the 2nd and 3rd string of another brand and tuned perfect and no snap!!! I don t like to write a negative review but I think those strings were old and that is the reason they snap in half without enough tension!!! 1,4,5 and 6 works perfect, I like the crunchy sound of those Basses!!! Sadly I don t have a complete set to brings a better review!!!3They just sound amazing! I don't know the physics of itI only use these on my Les Pauls. They just sound amazing! I don't know the physics of it, but they complement the instrument so well. I used Dean Markley Blue Steels and EB Cobalt Slinky's (11s) - also very good strings. But, I seem to always keep coming back to the Brite Wires (10s). Quite a soft feel, but with a nice pop to the sound. Very pliable, amazing range in bending, I can consistently do minor 3rd, or even a major 3rd bend (frets 12-15) without any toll on my fingers.5Gibson Britewires Seond to NoneI've been playing guitar since I was 14 and now 47 years later I know what strings I like on my guitars and the Gibson Britewire 9s are second to none. I've played bronze and nickle strings from extra light to heavy and sometime around 1987 I found Britewire Strings from Gibson and haven't put anything on my guitar since. In 93 to 99 I was gigging 3 to 5 nights a week and very seldom broke a string although when I did I'd quickly string a new one tune and they held the tuning with very little adjustment. Try the Britewires and I think you'll be like me a life long fan and Gibson String are still made in Elgin, IL USA5Only 5 Strings (in mine) - Just Unlucky I GuessGreat, except, instead of getting 6 strings we only got 5. I thought maybe I dropped one. However, after thoroughly checking and re-checking everywhere, I am convinced we only got 5 strings. We had to leave one of the old ones on. The 5 string we did get are nice though; noticeably better than the stock ones that came with the guitar.3Perfect string for my Arch TopRecently bought aGibson ES 175. Pretty high end instrument. It came with Brite Wires 11s. Perfect string choice for the instrument. Never used the bride wires and decided to do my set up and change down to 10s. Im getting older and don't have the hand strength I used to have. I was worried about losing some of the boom on the low end that these strings produce. After putting on a set and playing, they are just beautiful on this arch top. They were made for each other. I primarily play Blues and am used to used DR Blues strings on my ES 335. The Arch tops are different. As always we try a bunch of sets on these new instruments and do put the Brite Wires in your mix. They love to be strummed. Beautiful low end and nice sharp high. I had to lower my action but you younger guy are going to love these with a higher action and digging into these strings.Well worth the try.5
