Customer Reviews

NEVER EVER EVER EVER glue a rhinestone with Super or Crazy glue I've searched far and wide for a cement that will not yellow when dry or with age to restore vintage rhinestone jewelry. THIS is it...There is nothing else that 1) enables you to put just the right amount of glue around the edges of the smallest (and largest) cup to secure a replacement rhinestone, and 2) dries clear if left alone and does not yellow or discolor in any way with age - I still have some vintage rhinestone jewelry that I restored back in the 1980s, and they're still gorgeous!NEVER EVER EVER EVER glue a rhinestone with Super or Crazy glue. That type of glue will ruin the finish on the rhinestone. and you'll be left with a cloudy stone that you can't get out without a chisel and a hammer, LOL! Super or Crazy Glues are Perfect for gluing opaque stones like Pearls, Milk Glass, etc. The Gel version of Super Glue is what I find the easiest and best to use for pearls and opaque stones.Well, I've digressed, as usual. But I feel obligated to help the folks out there who might be trying to restore vintage jewelry and haven't been given any info. This listing might just be a good place to ask your questions about vintage jewelry restoration! Ask away! 5This Hypo Cement makes my day! I kept reading about this product in beading instructions and I didn't have any. Well, I am sure glad I purchased it! It is perfect for precise placement of a high quality cement-especially for making sewn, hand beaded jewelry. I was always afraid that my stitches would pull out before, but not now that I add touches of G-S Hypo Cement. And the tube closes up securely and doesn't dry out like so many other cements and glues. Great product design! 5Just my two cent worth Just my two cents worth of experience so far.Never grab by the tube, only by the hold by the folded end of the tube.Always put the cap back on even for a second between uses.Don't squeeze unless nothing is happening when you turn it upside down, then only lightly, I just kind of wiggle and shake the end I am holding because when it comes out it really comes out. Have a tissue handy to wipe the tip while holding the tube upright still by the end untill you get the cap back on so it doesn't get glued on, really the best method for all glue. You will have to switch hands to get this needle end cap on, still only holding the end of the tube, place your middle or ring finger behind the opening to hold it steady and help you see and guide the needle cap on.Last, but not least put it int he box so it does not get smashed and cause a mess when you open it again. Works great on knots, and will last if you take these precautions. 5I think I got a used glue! This was supposed to be a new bottle of glue, but when I opened the box and nothing slid out, I should have known something was fishy. I had to tear the box open only to find a squished tube (like a halfway used toothpaste tube) and the glue had seeped out and dried to the inside of the box. Trying to make the best of the situation, I wanted to use try it on my project, but I had to use pliers in order to open the glue top! So, no, I wouldn't buy this again. It didn't even work well. 1Excellent, strong, clear glue! This glue is comparable to e600 except it's more liquid-like. I like that for tiny projects and really enjoy the needle tip. I used this glue to glue clear glass beads around a cathedral length veil. Dries quickly and it so translucent you can't even tell where the glue was applied. I'm happy it does not take away from the luster of the clear glass beads. I have also used this glue for other projects as well and still give it five stars! 5Takes roughly 4 hours to dry, kind of messy. Bought this to glue the ends of my bracelets tied with crystal string.Takes awhile to dry, like 4 hours. It comes out of the needle fast without even putting pressure on the tube so it's pretty messy. After drying it leaves this clear rubbery substance vs hard plastic like super glue would have. Which was nice for my project. I'm hoping it does hold true to its security and mending. 3Great product! The cap is hard to replace because it has a pin that has to go into the tube that is so stinkin small. The cement leaks out te entire time the cap is off of the tube. The cement holds great though! 2Defective Applicator After Only a Few Uses After only a few uses the metal applicator tip came out of the tube when removing the lid, making the product useless. Unfortunately this obvious defect occurred shortly after the return period had expired. Better quality should be expected for $6 a tube. I'll try a different brand next time. 1Good outweighs the not so good I purchase this product a lot because it does it's job when it's dry. I make jewelry so this seals a knot well. I love the thin precision needle like tip as well. I also like that it doesn't dry fast and leaves working time to finish a project. Also, the product gets on my hands and thankfully doesn't bind my fingers together like some other glues. The downside is that there is a constant flow of glue that comes out from the fine tip so when I use it and set it down to quickly finishy project, there is a glop off glue on the table (or paper I set it down on). When I go to put the needle cap back on, I need to wipe off all the glue that oozed out. You need good eye sight to get the needle cap back on to the tube, this can be challenging in bad lighting. Overall a good product and I will continue to use. 4Not ideal for glueing a pearl onto an earring post. Would not recommend this product for glueing a pearl onto an earring post. Not strong enough and a pearl is too expensive to take that chance. Thankfully mine came apart inside my own home and I found it. I do like how precise the needle is that dispenses of the product, however, it keeps oozing out even when I wanted to put it away despite the fact that there is a needle-type cap to insert inside. When I thought about using it again there was a surrounding goo-gel under the cap but because it is not a strong "cement" I was able to pull it apart with no problem. When I did use it again for a repair it did not hold up once again. Still trying to figure out what its good for. 2
