Customer Reviews

Not for meAlthough this trombone stand is well built and sturdy, I chose to return the stand. Since the stand holds the trombone by the same 2 crossbars that you hold and play the instrument with, the trombonist must change their grip on their trombone to "install" or "uninstall" on the stand. I used the words "install" and "uninstall" intentionally since that describes what happens. "Set down" and "pick up" of the instrument is not possible. There are 2 slots that are each shaped to cradle each crossbar, which makes the stand very secure, but this also makes it better for a store window display than a working musician performance tool. I never brought it to a gig, for fear I might fumble and miss a musical entrance. I would consider myself reasonably dexterous..2My husband likes the unusal style that has nothing in the bell, , not like other stands in the bellGot this for my husband. He has played trombone since the 70s and has never seen one like it. We saw one just like it in a store and tried to buy one but the owner said there was some breakdown (gooeyness) of the plastic on a knob so it was not for sale. This one is fine so far.5Trombone standHave 3 of these. Very nice.5Works well for me, YRMV.It's not quite all that it could be, but it works well enough for my valve trombone. Obviously, with a valve-bone, it's not possible to hang it on there as intended, so I hang it on the first bell brace instead. It rests just right such that the main slide stays up off the tripod and off the deck. This is not universal, so it would behoove you to try before you buy.4Fits large bore, not my small boreI was looking forward to using this on my small bore Yamaha Custom Z. However, even though the grip is adjustable, it's still too large for my small bore horn to fit onto on the smallest setting. It's disappointing, but at least it does fit on my large bore Edwards T-350 with a leather hand grip. Still a great stand for that horn!4It s the best and I ve tried them all.The design protects the slide from getting nicked. Much more so than a conventional stand. If you use a practice mute, you don t have to keep taking it out to place it on the stand. One less petty annoyance. And it looks cool on stage.5Hercules Trombone Stand ValueWas a gift for my wife and she loves it! Hercules is in the front of the music stand biz and this is rugged and will last a lifetime holding a trombone ready for the next song! The price was right and its better than most. It's what musicians want; a stand that's easy to use and does the job well. You can't go wrong owning one of these!5Awesome stand! My husband has a Hercules stand for his guitar and he loves it. He feels the same about this stand. It works differently than other trombone stands and he actually feels that it holds the trombone much more securely. It's easy to transport and durable. We'd highly recommend it!5Cool idea, but too cumbersome to useThe stand is very sturdy and looks nicer than most other trombone stands. I though I would like the fact that it holds the trombone by the handle (since that avoids putting stress on the bell or the end of the slide like a normal stand would) but it's actually very inconvenient because you have to take your hand off of the handle and hold onto the bell or the slide to place it on the stand. That makes it very cumbersome when you are putting the trombone on the stand and picking it back up--you can't just easily set it down with your left hand like you would with a normal stand, it really requires both hands.3I have two of these...I like the design of this stand and I feel like it is more stable than the old bell style stand. However, it doesn't seem to work as well with larger horns as it does with small, straight trombones. It works great with my King 3B, but not as well with my Bach 36B. The holder does expand for larger horns, so it does work, but it doesn't seem to fit quite as well as it does the King 3B, when fully closed. I have two of them, and I use them both, so obviously I like the product.4
