    Great and moving soundtrackI really love the soundtrack for this movie and decided to purchase it. "Night of the Long Knives" is my favorite and I couldn't resist temptation to crank this up in my car. I'm not usually a fan of classical music, but every song brings back memories from a great movie. Definitely worth the money.4Still SearchingSaw the movie and got a CD at the time that was wonderful. (I like Mediaeval music, obviously...)3Excellent accompinament to a fine filmDavid Hirschfelder has written and assembled a truely fitting and gorgeous soundtrack to "Elizabeth". He especially seemed to be able to blend his own compositions together with that of other composers. Easily my favorite, and most inspiring musical sequence is that of using Sir Edward Elgar's "Nimrod" from the the Enigma Variations to frame some of the "near closing" grand scenes. It fit absolutely perfectly and captured the moment unlike probably ANY other music could. Kudos Mr. Hirschfelder!Anyone who appreciates good "period" films will enjoy both the film and soundtrack.4Hauntingly Beautiful - Could Listen to it for HoursA wonderful hauntingly beautiful score that takes history and arouses your emotions at the very center of its unfolding on screen.5LegendaryVery wonderful music, takes you to that time period. I listen to it all the time.5the glory of olde englandThis dvd, this movie is just wonderful The sumptuous costumes the swish of the silks, the gorgeous jewels and the very, very complicated story. The actors in this film, are right on game. So, pompous where they need to be and conciliatory where they need to be. Ms. Fanny Ardant, is truly wonderful in her cameo role. Mr. Eggers, as the haughty nobleman, trying to seize the crown for himself is dastardly and malicious. I have seen him perform in Hercule Poirot films where he is also wonderful!I do not need to outline the story here, it would ruin the movie for anyone who not seen this outstanding film. The actual film soundtrack is also truly a masterpiece!5
