    Good cables for rough use.Mic cables are either good or bad in the live sound business. There are no magic cables, no special copper, none of that fake home audio bs. You simply don't hear professionals discuss the wonders of xlr cables. All you need is a good cable, good connectors and good soldering. there are some cheapo cables on Amazon that are poorly assembled with crap materials. These fail fast. The truth is you won't hear any difference between cables under 99% of usage. The issues are fragile cable due to poor quality manufacturing, poorly fitting xlr connectors, and cold solders that let loose. The major brands have tighter quality control and better materials. No magic that sounds better. They just last longer and fit into mics, stage boxes and other gear properly. These Hosa cables are thicker than "normal" and work well for use on powered speakers and monitors, were they get walked on and have things set on them or accidentally rolled over them. Too thick for roving frontmen. I have been using mine for over three years. Zero problems.5Mid-Range Microphone CableTwo-Sentence Summary: This microphone cable is better than most in this price range, with rugged metal connectors and chuck-type strain relief. The Kopul Premium Performance 3000 Series XLR M to XLR F Microphone Cable - 25' (7.6 m), which has Neutrik brand connectors, may offer slightly better connectors for some applications, but overall this is a good cable for small to mid-sized DJ, KJ, and PA applications.This cable is generally better than most low to mid-range microphone cables I have come upon. The connectors are Rean brand units. Rean is a product of the Neutrik company which is essentially a made-in-China version of Netrik's past-generation X series connector. The connectors are therefore of die-cast metal construction and have Neutrik's very successful chuck-type strain relief. Although made in China, these connectors are therefore better, in terms of physical strength and electrical quality, than all of the injection-molded rubber and plastic, and slide-on metal, connectors seen on most cables in this price range. The Kopul 3000 and 4000 Series of microhpone cables, which are also available from Amazon, do fall in the same price bracket as this cable and come with the real German-made Neutrik XX series connectors. In large PA systems or recording studios, this would be a make-or-break issue. For most DJ/KJ purposes, the Rean connectors are just fine.The actual wire used in this cable is a heavy (20 AWG) two-conductor shielded cable. The 20 AWG conductors make this cable thicker than most microphone cables, which does offer some advantages in physical ruggedness. However, heavier gauge wire also comes with increased capacitance, which causes some issues in recording or large-scale PA environments. For the average DJ/KJ or small PA application, this would not be an issue at all, and this cable would be an excellent choice. For environments with high radio or electromagnetic noise, a "star-quad" or four conductor microphone cable, such as Mogami Neglex, Canare 4E6S, or Clark Mink4 would offer better noise rejection. However, such cables are mostly available from professional audio or production suppliers, typically on a made-to-order basis. Canare MC20F L-4E6S Star Quad XLR Microphone Cable (20 feet) is one such cable which is pricey but available online.Overall, this cable is very adequate for most small to mid-sized uses. While I would not recommend it for use in recording studios or around 10,000 watt PA systems, most users will be very pleased with this cable and I generally recommend it.4Reliable and Durable!I have 25 of these now, most of them are 10ft. I do live sound for clubs and a few wedding bands, and I can never have too many of these cables. Since I bought my first batch 2 years ago, I haven't had a single problem with them cutting out or making exxess noise. They're convenient for micing drum kits into a drop snake, but I use them for everything else too! Highly recommend!5Stop looking around and buy these.I am VERY impressed with the quality of these cables. A very reasonable price especially with Prime. The cable shielding is really nice and thick and the XLR plugs are very well made. There is nothing flimsy about these cables. My crew guys keep saying that we need to throw away all our more expensive cables and replace them with these. I will buy more in the future.Update. It's been a year and a half since I first started purchasing these. I run a high school performing arts center with a variety of rentals nearly weekly along with dozens of school events. These cables get used a lot and are not always treated very nice. I have yet to have any of them show the slightest sign of damage or need any repairs. They are great cables and I've been back over and over to purchase more in every size from 3'-50'. Best of all with Prime they arrive really fast.5Great Audio CableThis is a nice length for most small audio studios where you require quality cables for you audio devices. I'm using this with my Shure SM7B. The sound is awesome and the cable is thick and durable. I'm happy with this cable.5Solidly satisfying cable construction. Wonderful!Couldn't be more happy. Picked these as a middle ground cable between your typical cheap xlr cables and the higher mogamis which I had planned later to buy. These are great in and of themselves. Very good construction with satisfying and solid locking action when connecting or disconnecting. No line noise to speak of. Will definitely buy more in the future.5A Wonderful Lower-Cost SolutionI own a recording studio, a production studio, and a radio studio here in Nashville. If I'm hooking a Neumann microphone to a UA preamp for a solo vocal, okay I'll reach for a Mogami cable, However, although I was reluctant to use low cost cables at one time, Hosa has taught me their cables are good, serviceable, and just what's needed for a LOT of applications and many of the hundreds of short or temporary connections that exist in my environment. Having said that about Hosa's standard cables, I will say this:Hosa "Pro" cables are a definite step up, and I really like them. Connectors are silver-plated (silver is more conductive than gold, yet some idiots insist on wasting money on gold-plated connectors). Cable itself is much better, my resistance tests were very good on cables up to 25' (did not buy anything longer). Since I ordered twenty different cables for a new set of distribution amps and codecs, I really appreciated the change to open-card packaging with small velcro attachments versus the usual zip ties that must be cut (sharp objects and cables - never a good combination). Whether they hold up over a long time, well only time will tell, but it appears the right components have been put in place to make that happen. While I prefer Neutrik connectors, the REAN's are very good. I could not resist an A/B comparison with some of my most treasured mic cables. All parameters were within 5% of the best cables I own, and a few of those cost more than my first car. For someone building a project studio, these would be a godsend. Buy with confidence and enjoy.5Good cable!I have used Hosa cables for years because I appreciate the quality and the price. I needed a short cable to plug a mic into my computer (see my Blue Microphones icile review) and this was just the right length. Like other Hosa cables, this has introduced no additional noise into my recordings. The connections are solid and secure and the cable performs flawlessly. I appreciate the addition of the small velcro cable ties as well. I have used this cable in a few different "electrically noisy" environments and found the shielding against introducing interference or buzzing to be more than adequate.5Causes crackling noise in recordings.Bought this cable about 2 years ago and only used it a handful of times since then. I figured that, because of it's high rating, there was no chance I'd get a defective product, but it's bound to happen to some people and it appears I am one of said people. I use the cable for voice-over work with a Focusrite Scarlett Solo and a Rode Broadcaster Mic and, two or three times per hour, it produces a crackling noise (think Rice Krispies) for about 5 minutes each time. I haven't seen any others with a similar issue as mine, so I used a spare XLR cable to ensure that this one was the culprit. Unfortunately, it was. Just wish I could have pinpointed the problem when I first bought it to potentially return it.1... XLR cable for my studio mic and it works like a charmi used this XLR cable for my studio mic and it works like a charm. you know you have a crap cable when you hear humming in your mic or during playbacks. i purchased this cable because i was sick of the guitar center cables crapping out on me. i've had this cable for over a hear now and have no problem with it. i plan on buying at least two more as backup! great product.P.S: let your studio mic warm up for 20 or 30 minutes before use. this will prevent hardware issues.5
