Customer Reviews

Work fine but rough on the fingers when unplugging. These cables work fine, however the locking tabs are VERY difficult to move and unlock. I use these in a portable setup where they need to be unplugged after use and they are some finger busters. They work fine though. My only complaint it the locking clips.4Take apart the speakon connectors before use! Watch out! Before you connect these please take apart the connectors and check if + and - are touching... also the solder job is atrocious... you just as well desolder it and use the screw downs, if they aren't melted. 3Good for permanent install, not for mobile professional use ....These work OK and are very affordable. If you are going to leave the plugs in and not change or swap them frequently or for permanent install, it'll be fine.If you are an audio professional and have to plug and unplug these cables a lot, I'd get something more sturdy.4Do not buy. Fire hazard and hazard to property.Under no circumstances should you buy these cables. Hooked them up to my inuke 3000 to run two subs at roughly half gain. After about two minutes one sub started crackling, figuring I was pushing the subs too hard I turned the volume down and went to disconnect the sub from the amp. The crackling was not from the sub but from a short in the soldered connection inside the speak on connector. It fried my amp and possibly blew my sub. These are a fire hazard and a hazard to property. Do not buy. If you have bought them immediately disconnect and rewire your speakons correctly to minimize your chances of damage.1I did some looking and the solder job was horrible and the connection came looseI Just got 2 of these Friday. One of the cables is not working. I did some looking and the solder job was horrible and the connection came loose. Total junk. I hope the seller does something about this!!!!1Will be dead on arrival dont let looks deceive youLeta get straight to the point. The product is trash. The welds look like they are done by. 5 year old. Mine were dead on arrival ran the wires to the amp then to speakers and no sound but i could see the amp was receiving signal yet not putting any out. Turned out to be the welds were broken on the wires.1Pathetic QualityI've used these cables roughly 4 - 5 times, and one has already died on me. When I pulled apart the connector I found a solder job which resembled something I'd expect from a 1st grader. One of the solder joints had failed, and I'm guessing the others will fail soon. In addition to the solder job, the cable connections are far from robust - cheap plastic which is prone to stripping, etc. It seems to me that when it comes to powered audio, you get what you pay for.1Poor Quality I bought two sets of these to drive monitors at church. They are very poorly assembled. Multiple connectors would not make electrical contact and on examination were very poorly soldered inside. I had to repair several connectors, some of which came apart while attempting to do so. I wound up purchasing replacement connectors for all 8 connectors that were installed costing more than the cables themselves.DONT BOTHER, THESE ARE JUNK! 1Nice butI am replacing an old system with a newer updated one. The newer system used this type of connectors or the 1/4 inch. I thought i would order 1 set to give them a try while using the 1/4 inch on the other speakers. Since i needed these for a gig last weekend i didn t have any leeway as far as time. I found that the cables were very heavy and looked to have very good ends on them. So out of the box they were impressive. After connecting them i found that both of the cables had one end that didn t lock in place. If i would have had the time i would have probably returned them and gotten new ones, but because i was pressed for time i just used these. Other than 2 of the ends not locking into place they worked great.Since i have used them already and it would be more of a hassle to return them i am just going to keep them. I do need another set for my other set of speakers, and if i do get them i will just make sure that i have enough time to return them if i get another bad set.Would i buy these again? Yes but i would be sure to not need them right away for a gig.4Well made and just what I neededThe cables are heavy duty, strong and great. They don't introduce any noise because the connection points are strong and lock in place well.5Working great one year in2ND EDITHmm, I'm tempted to remove one star because I didn't realize that these were made with CCA (Copper Clad Aluminum). It is in the description now. Maybe it was there when I bought these cables twice and I just didn't realize it. It's very possible since in all my years of using audio equipment, I had never heard of CCA. I'm not removing a star and here's why: after investigation, CCA conducts 65% as well as copper. That makes these perform slightly better than a 14 gauge (14AWG) copper cable. Even 14 gauge, with a resistance of 2.525 milliohms per foot could be used at lengths of up to 50 feet for 4 ohm speakers in my opinion (some charts say 40 feet) since total resistance would be well under 5% of 4 ohms. Under 5% is the standard for some reason although some say you can go as high as 10%.EDIT TO ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW:Ok, ok, so I had one stop working on me. Luckily, it was not on a gig. I popped it open and one of the wires had come out of the slot. I used a wire stripped and exposed more bare wire, gave it a twist, inserted it, and screwed it in tight. This led me to open up the other connectors on that cable and the other three I have. There were some slight to moderate issues on about half of the wires going into the connectors. Some just weren't in tight, and others had some stray pieces of wire that didn't make it into the little socket. So I went around and re-stripped those wires and tightened them all. It took 20-30 min. But, hey, isn't this something that we should all know how to do anyway? And I felt good about having given them all a once-over. In fact, even if I was buying some pricey cable with Neutrik connectors, I would be inclined to unscrew them and take a look inside just to be sure. There's no guarantee that they would look much better. In summary, as a small-time DJ and musician, these were still worth it to me and I would buy them again. I typically push anywhere from 400 - 650 watts rms per cable when DJing and they haven't let me down after 15+ gigs. I have, however, started to carry a small Phillips head screwdriver with me just in case ;-) But, hey, I should have been taking a little tool bag with me all along!!!Hey I know everyone is complaining about these cables, but I've enjoyed using them on a dozen or so gigs over the past 13 months. In fact, I'm ordering another set. Yeah, the connectors don't feel as rock solid as neutrik and the line isn't as supple as livewire, but they are cheap, sound great, heavy, and have held up for me! Just don't wrench them onto your speakers - no need. I took one connector apart and rewired it for a bridge mono subwoofer. Don't you love not having to solder?!?4Extremely poor QCI've gone through so many bad cables here I don't even want to say. The solder job doesn't help anything, in fact it makes it break along with the plastic connector/cage that's included for some reason when you unscrew the twist locking mechanism. This is not how you implement Speakon. Done with Amazon, doing it myself now as nothing needs to be soldered...1
