Customer Reviews

You have to try theseLike guitars, certain picks may not be for me or for you. I urge you to give these a shot though! I'm on a huge Andy Timmons kick right now and was watching a rig rundown. He mentioned the Jazz IIIs and I figured, what the heck I'll give it a shot. For those who don't know, they're smaller than the usual pick, but they're also sharper. There's a definite learning curve but in my opinion, after that curve, you'll find your picking to be more precise and smoother. There's also a little "funk" you'll add to your playing if you really get into it, you'll be mixing pick and flesh. Very cool picks, I love 'em. I'm tossing everything else I have!5Great little picksSmaller than your typical Tortex picks with a smooth finish. The sharper tip allows for tighter movements especially with speed picking, but your skills and practice are going to make a bigger difference no matter what pick you're using. After using these, standard picks feel kinda chunky by comparison but I'll switch back and forth to whichever I grab first. All down to personal preference, and definitely worth a try!5Just right! One of the very few pick gauges that feel just right from the moment I pick it up for the first time, and then continues to play very, very well. I tried the 1.14, 1.35 and 1.5 at the same time to choose which gauge to go with, and this one won by far. Excellent choice by Dunlop to make this. The texture of the pick feels very nice as well, by far the best I ve ever tried. Thank you Dunlop!5Not as good as the red/black Jazz IIIsI've been a huge fan of the red/black stubby Jazz IIIs for years and was looking for similarly sized picks in a thinner gauge for my acoustic. I like the tortex texture on standard medium picks, so I thought these would be perfect, but I'm not a fan. They're a bit slippery and tend to spin around between my fingers easily. They sound pretty good, but not as smooth as the regular stubbys.3These are the picks I was looking forI had some 20 year old / worn picks I loved, but could not figure out which ones they were, not even after looking at the Dunlop website. I knew they were 0.88mm Tortex picks, but weren't sure if they were the Flow or Jazz III. Here is the picture you are looking for to show you the sizes. For me, I am the most accurate with the Jazz III pick.5Strums chords better and increased speedI have huge hands and never thought a small jazz pick could ever work. I was surprised at how well chords sounded and how much faster playing leads worked. I am going to order some more. This is now my go to pick of choice.5!PIMP PICKS! for MASTER PLAYERSKILLER TONE, John McLaughlin 1970s tone, ready -made. The material is the same...Very full and smooth for both electric and acoustic world-class virtuoso playing. Might be too stiff for intermediate and advanced players in 2019. But if you've gone beyond advanced, you'll benefit immensely, not so much before you attain that level! These picks require absolute mastery of plectrum techniques to get the full potential out of them.5Best jazz 3's for your moneyI was a hard user of the ultex jazz 3 2.0 mm. Loved it's sound and feel, but once I picked up these .88 mm jazz 3's, I was sold on them. I noticed a sharper aggressive timbre that contrasts to the dull and warmer timbre of the standard nylon jazz 3's. I don't really notice any change in wear -n- tear usage or time. I'm a metal player and these thinner picks help me play cleaner and faster. The thicker picks get in the way of fast tremelo picking or alternate picking with string skipping. These picks are thin, but they still give a strong taut material with just a little hint if flex.5Finally a cheapo pick that I like!I've been addicted to boutique Torlon picks for a while now but I absolutely love these thick Tortex picks. Totally different world than the thinner offerings. They are actually a tiny bit larger than a normal Jazz III (very tiny) but I actually find this to be perfect for me. Plus I can get 72 of these for a tad more than half of the cost of a custom.5If there were a military band made of Imperial Stormtroopers, these are the picks the guitarists would be issued. It's a Jazz III. It's Tortex. If you're looking at these, there's a very good chance you already have a few of the purple ones in your jeans pocket. But these are easier to find if you drop one or sit one on a dark colored desk because they look like they could be made from Imperial Stormtrooper armor. The shape makes for easy, fast attacks. The material has arguably the best feeling string "grab" of any material on earth. The only reason these don't get five stars from me is that they wear out pretty quickly. But for the looks, I'd still choose them over the purple. If durability is your thing, go have a look at the Ultex Jazz III instead.4
