Customer Reviews

Brightened up a guitar with a case of the dullsBrightened up a guitar with a case of the dulls. Had Ben using phosphor bronze for a while because a friend gave me a couple sets. Just kind of started playing my other guitar more. Put these on and it was like Oh yeah, this guitar is fun to play. Brightened up the top with more of a ring and gave the bottom more snap. All depends what your going for but it was crisper and cleaner for me.5Great String for the moneyGood price. I play finger style, up and down the neck, lead, slide, lots of styles.Great strings for the money. They last 5 - 6 months, for me. Stay in tune on my McPherson and 1972 Guild.4It's like going back to the 60'sJust strung my ej200 and wow, these string brings it alive. I love the sound and the feel. It's like going back to the 60's. Can't wait to gig with them and hopefully they last for a while5Tons of treble and overtones, sweet toneOn my Martin HD-35 dreadnaught, John Pearse P200L 80/20 Bronze Lights are my favorite strings so far, slightly edging out Martin Retros. The HD-35 has a lot of low frequency punch, and these strings sound very balanced and sparkly on it. The tone is very sweet, while Martin Retros are a bit twangy. Fantastic for finger picking, flat picking, and chords. Tried them on a Taylor 814CE and it was a bit too much treble and not enough bass. Phosphor bronze seems to be the best bet there.5Strings! Not bridge pins.Strings, not bridge pins!5Balanced, great sounding stringsI heard these on a Froggy Bottom guitar, and yes a lot of it had to do with the guitar; but I decided to give these a try. I put these on a 00 sized Martin parlor guitar. Overall, I think these are one of the best sounding strings I've tried. The tone is very balanced and the strings ring loud and clear. However, I'm not particularly fond of the feel as I'm used to playing with micro coated strings.4NOW MY FAVORITE ACOUSTIC STRINGSNOW MY FAVORITE ACOUSTIC STRINGS . VERY EVEN FREQUENCY RESPONSE5Excellent on the Yamaha FG 830.Excellent sound on Yamaha FG830.After the stock factory strings, the Pearse P200L are the 2nd best fit(in my opinion).Search youtube for Yamaha FG830 John Pearse, to guage an approximation of how it'll sound on this model.5Makes your guitar sound like the best of the good old days!Ever wonder why your guitar never has the sweet woody sounds like the old recordings of Simon and Garfunkel, Jim Croce, James Taylor, Dan Fogelberg, Harry Chapin, Gordon Lightfoot, Arlo Guthrie, or the Grateful Dead? It's because NONE of those artists used phosphor bronze strings for their recordings (and definitely no coated strings either)! No they used 80/20's to get their amazing sounds, and John Pearse makes the best 80/20 strings in the world!Bright and sparkling when first put on your guitar, and then within a week they mellow to warm and clear perfection. And then that sound lasts and last.Try these strings. Give them 2 weeks and you'll be hooked on them for a lifetime!5Sound, feel, and quality...unsurpassed!Play these once and you ll be shocked at the tonality and responsiveness of your regular old guitar! You won t go back!5
