I'll buy more as needed. 5Shape doesn't prevent movement Good bobbins, do their job and easy to use. Only four stars because the square shape did not prevent them rolling, especially over each other. Had to be very careful and move my working cushion gently. Always ended up with some tangled though. Also have to label the pairs myself, not terrible, but would have liked to maintain a clean look to them. 4Perfect for beginner. Good value for a beginners first set. Plain design let s you custom paint them into pairs. Easily drill small holes and add bead fobs for extra weight if desired. 5Good Alternative I've been using Midland bobbins, and still do. The feel is a bit different but you get used to it and when using heavier threads does keep the bobbins from constantly turning. 5Well-made and inexpensive. Great for beginner and experienced lacemakers. While I prefer a longer & slightly heavier bobbin, I find that these are my go to bobbins. They are cheap enough to buy in quantity and well-made. They work for 95% of my projects. And, being square, they don't roll. I'd recommend them for both beginning and experienced lacemakers. 4Great for a start As someone who was just thinking of trying bobbin lace, these were a great and affordable entry point. They are a little bit light, I can see how a heavier wood would be nicer, but as I am an avid beader as well, I drilled some holes and added some spangles, which helped a lot! and was fun. If you don't want to make your own (another option!) and I would recommend them to someone who is just testing out the idea of bobbin lace, as most other bobbins are a considerable investment. 5Excellent bobbins for beginning and contemporary work These are very nice bobbins for contemporary work- the kind that does not require hundreds of the things!I especially like that they are square, meaning they do not roll around, even without spangles. In that way they are superior to the ones in Lacis's basic bobbin lace kit, which has round bobbins.I am looking forward to resuming playing with bobbin lace, and these bobbins are great for the sorts of projects I have in mind- mostly bookmarks and similar, as I learn. 5As expected Lovely and a great price. Just started making lace and these bobbins are a great price for just starting out! 5Beginner bobbins These are very good bobbins for the price. Good lacemaking bobbins are expensive. These bobbins are very reasonably priced and are good for beginners. You could use these bobbins while you decide whether or not you want to invest in better equipment. The bobbins are a bit too lightweight for me but don't roll badly because of the square shape. Since they do not have a double head, there is a tendency for the hitch to get lost in the thread supply with thinner threads. 4Easy in use, sublime in form these bobbins are perfect for the beginning student in traditional bobbin lace making, the weight of the square handles allows for sufficient tension to keep the stitches even and the clean lines aid the novice lace maker in the smooth movement of the bobbins without distraction or interference. Well constructed to last a lifetime or more they are an excellent tool in the learning and perfection of an ancient and venerable craft. 5
