Customer Reviews

Better than homemade, worth the $$I have been using a homemade one (from a wallyworld oven protector) and that helped my quilting so much that I asked Santa for one of the "real" ones for Christmas. Just tried it out and it is WONDERFUL. I think it will be well worth the cost. The only problem is that it is too small still; or maybe I just need to re-cut the hole and place it differently on the machine. LOVE the slipperiness and the pink sticky side, which really works! My oven protector one "wore out" ie the hole got increasingly larger as I used it, probably because I leave my feed dogs up with a zero length stitch, a la Leah Day (I think her reason makes a lot of sense). I will report further if this seems to wreck up the hole on this one; the instructions clearly state to put the feed dogs down.5The Best for Free Motion QuiltingCan t recommend this enough for free motion quilting. I ve read a lot of blogs and tips for using cheaper alternatives, but honestly, I haven t tried any of them. When I sit back and think about trying to jury-rig something else and cut a hole to match the throat plate and taping it down well, I m glad I spent a few extra bucks up front and avoided all that frustration. When I inevitably destroy it (And I will, I am very accident-prone, and it is already full of pin holes and nicks from slipped scissors) I will definitely buy another one to replace it.5Good product but tricky to useIt works but it's a tricky product...it catches and ripped....installation was easy...but it did not survive the first quilt...had to change bobbin...flattened it...checked it and it lifted and got caught in the needle and ripped....it was great up until that moment1Tears easyI bought my queen slider two years ago. It does smooth out the small gaps on the surface, but it is thin. I had painters tape I was using on a project a corner stick to the slider. When I removed it the slider ripped. Disappointed for the cost. May be it gets brittle with age. I have my table covered with oil cloth, it seems almost as effective as the slider. A yard of 48" was only $11.3Update to my reviewI just took my slider out of the package 3 days ago to do some free motion quilting and this is what I ran into. As I slipped it into the bed of my machine it adhered at an angle, therefore it had to be lifted and reposition and as I lifted the mat my machine needle tore through it. I was so upset since I didn't even get to use the mat yet and now I have a rip in it. As u know the large mat that I bought is not cheap. The mat works great, material slides very nicely while sewing. I just wished they instructed you to remove the needle from your machine before putting your mat in place. I hope to save all of you who are thinking about buying one the mistake I made. Don't hesitate about buying one, but be very careful putting the mat into position. I contacted the company and they are going to replace my slider. In fairness to the company the owner asked me if I removed my foot on the machine during installation. I do remember doing so since there wasn't much room to work and in doing so I exposed the needle. If I left the foot on, the pressure foot would have protected the needle from damaging the slider. You must leave the pressure foot on or take pressure foot and needle off before placing the slider on bed of machine. Would not hesitate to purchase from this company. Great customer service.4Queen size (not)Okay, I ordered with great anticipation of being WOW d.....however not so..... I so wanted a smooth gliding surface, my expectation was to be able to just glide like butter, however maybe it s with my templates? Not sure?, I find it s not as slippery as I expected, I ve even used an spray application to hopefully make it more so, I guess maybe what I m doing is possibly the issue, I haven t just used free motion, maybe I m just expecting more bang for my buck.... I did purchase oven liners as I watched one person try on YouTube, the only reason I was hesitant on that option was using tape, and leaving a sticky residue later where ever I taped...we ll see haven t tried it yet....so I guess it s your decision....pay close attention to putting in place, needle up, lift each side and slowly place in place, if needed watch a video so you don t rip it like others have in the past. Good luck!3Not really sure.....I've only had this slider a few days so I've only used it on 1 quilt. The quilt is a twin size and I'm not getting that 'warm & fuzzy' feeling about my new 'slider'. I had finished quilting a couple of spaces BEFORE the slider and now I've finished a couple more sections.... there's not that much difference in the sliding. My back muscle still 'burns' after about an hour of strain. I was hoping the strain would be relieved, but I'm just not getting it. Maybe I just need to use it a bit longer to get an accurate idea on whether I like it or not. I'll be happy to give it 5 stars if I start getting strain relief.4A Must Have Tool to free Motion Quilt!!A Must Have Tool for Free Motion Quilting! Omgosh....I will never Free Motion quilt without my Slider... this product has made Free Motion Quilting on my home sewing machine, ADream!!!!! If you don't have this product and you Free Motion quilt ....You Have to get this....you won't be disappointed! I love mine and will never quilt without it!5Supreme SliderI have used the smaller slider but I bought this one because of needing a larger size. Sliders are the most useful item when quilting. The project slides rather than hangs, This one came with a tube storage case - and that I LOVE> I recommend this supreme slider for every one that quilts by machine.5perfect sizeI have a Singer 9960 with the extension table and I purchased the Queen Size. I am glad I did as this fits the whole surface of the sewing machine with the extension table on. Under the throat of the machine and the extension table. the pink side really grips to the machine and my quilts glide on the surface when free motion quilting. Great product.5
