Customer Reviews

The product doesn t look like what I orderedThe product doesn t look like what I ordered. When cutting into the block it crumbled. It had a funny smell to it. I wanted to buy in bulk compared to store bought but they smelled differently. I still tried to make soaps and they came out terrible I threw them away. Very disappointed!!!1EASY TO WORK WITHI purchased this item based on recommendation in a blog about homemade soaps and scrubs. It melted easily in my double boiler and I made the cutest gingerbread-smelling and gingerbread man-looking bath scrubs for little add-on Christmas gifts. Everyone I gave them to says they loved them; thus my satisfaction.5Great soap base.Love this soap. We used to to melt in a bowl over some water (double broiler). We added some oils and sea salt to a few. It held the salt nice throughout and not one layer at the bottom. The soaps turned out really nice, they smelled amazing and was great on sensitive skin. We put it in a silicone mold so it was really easy to pop out.5Not even the same product I ordered Would have given this 0 stars if I could.1. I received a product that looked nothing like what was pictured2. The bag was torn and the little soap beads were all over3. I would describe the small as a mix between plastic and cat pee (NOT GOOD) 1Don't Bother.I just used all of this soap yesterday & I'm not pleased with it at all. It's a low quality melt & pour soap that has the same texture & consistency of a hotel soap that dries out your skin. It's not great & while it suspends tea leaves or other botanicals like lavender or rose petals, it's not a base I'd recommend to anyone. It's also incredibly overpriced. If you really want to get some nice quality MP soap, check out Bramble Berry. They have all the soap making supplies you could possibly dream of. (2 pounds of shea butter there = $6.60)So, be forewarned. This soap base is:1. drying2. low quality3. expensiveIt's easy to melt, pour, & hardens quickly, but like I said, overpriced & way too drying. I added rosehip oil & almond oil to the soap for extra silkiness & for good measure, but it was just still too dry. My friends & family liked the soap bars I made, but now that I've worked with some much better material from another company, I feel a little ashamed.I got about 10 bars of soap with 2 pounds, but my silicon mold is pretty large. You could get a lot more if you got some smaller oval shaped (think Dove soap bar sizes) silicon molds. Happy soaping!2Worth itI have had the complete opposite experience with this product versus all the negative reviews. I melt it in the microwave for 1 min at a time and it melts perfectly. The fragrance sadly doesn t hold well, but the product is very very easy to work with. I decided to make cute soaps to add for Christmas gifts and bring my first time I had zero issues with this.4Scent of soap masks essential oil fragranceI tried to add scent to this base using essential oils because I am wary of the dangerous chemicals found in most synthetic fragrances. The unpleasant smell of this soap completely masked the delicate scents of the oils that I used, even though I used an entire vial of sandalwood oil in just one pound of soap. If you are using synthetic craft fragrances, you may have better luck.1Great base for DIY soap productsUsed this as part of a sugar scrub recipe. It's super soft and I didn't mind getting it all over my hands when making my product. No weird smells and there's an imprinted grid on the soap that makes it easy to portion. Will buy again5Super easy for beginnersI have never ever made soap, but just found out about melt and pour soap, so I decided to make coffee soap bars as gifts for Christmas!I just cut the block in half as I only needed 2.5 pounds. I followed the directions on the box (using the microwave) and stirred it every so often. It does set very, very fast, so make sure whatever ingredients you plan on adding in are already out and measured, so you can throw it all it quick, stir it up, and put it in whatever mold you re using.Other than it setting super fast, I loved it! I m so happy with the way it came out considering I have no experience with it at all. Would definitely recommend!!5Easy to make soap bars I used this as my first attempt at melt and pour soap. We had a lot of fun making this soap. It was easy to do, and the price isn't too bad. Especially considering the fancy hand made soaps can go for $5-$10 easily. I made them as gifts, so I hope they turned out. 4I made some very pretty bars of handmade soapI've never made soap before, but I had a mold, essential oils, and I decided I had to give it try! I bought a pound of melt and pour goat's milk/glycerin soap base and melted it in the microwave, then added ground up oatmeal and honey to the mix. Ten minutes later, I was pouring my first soap into this mold. As you can see from the pictures, I made some very pretty bars of handmade soap! Loved the experience! And the soap is gorgeous! It lathers nicely, doesn't disintegrate in the shower, and smells lovely and fresh! I'll be buying more!5Good quality soap, easy to melt, color and fragranceEasy to melt in the microwave in 40 seconds. The soap is very nice in feel and consistency. However, the company website and the packaging don't tell you a few things that you need to know. Like spraying your molds with alcohol to eliminate bubbles, and letting your soap air dry for three weeks before you package it. Also, the plastic molds they sell to go with it are a bit too rigid to allow you to remove the soap with ease.Thank goodness for Youtube! That's how I got my questions answered, not through the company.5Great For Making GiftsBought this to make some homemade soaps as gifts for Christmas this year. Love the ease of how it melted and mixed with the scents and colors that I added. The soaps turned out great and smell awesome.5Great soap baseThe suspension formula is worth it. I previously made soap with oatmeal in it with a non-suspension goats milk soap base and the oatmeal sunk to the bottom. With this base, the oatmeal was even throughout the soap. Very nice! I add 50 drops of an almond fragrance, 2 Tbl honey, and 3 tsp oatmeal to 10 ozs of the soap base and everyone loves it.5Exorbitant amount of extra chemicalsNot impressed with all the extra chemicals in this melt and pour brand. I used to buy this all the time when I was actively running a soap business and I don t remember all the chemicals in it.1Great starting base if you don't want to mess with the lye process Damn good base if you're not going to start from scratch with the lye process. I don't have the space or facility like a garage or shed to mix lye safely and in my little kitchen with barely any counter space with two little active dogs running around my legs is not safe enough for me knowing the hazards of lye. However, since I'm making homemade soap to get away from all the chemicals in store bought products, the starting base needed to be as pure as possible.I love goats milk. I love drinking it, love goat cheeses and more because I have an issue with bovine dairy. Until I get to my own land (hopefully later this year) and can keep my own goats, I will be using this.I added a honey glycerin base soap with melted beeswax, coconut and olive oil, crushed dried rosemary (which are the specks and tinted the soap a nice green) and more to an amazing shampoo bar and the other more pinkish one is a rose petal tinted bath bar where I added pinches of apricot seeds and dried lavender buds closer to the bottom as a built in loofah. These are huge hits and our skin and hair have been thanking us!! I'm having family and social network friends asking me to make them some now. 5Skin So SoftThis suspension soap, which already has the Lye in it, was very simple to use. I found a recipe on Pinterest that recommended this brand and they were right, best soap to use! Just don't make the mistake of trying to use the whole block at one time. My first block didn't turn out well but when I followed directions the second time it was fantastic. This goat soap leaves your skin so soft.5My top pick For a good soap baseI ve purchased nearly every kind of soap base on the market. This is my favorite. Makes the perfect bar of soap. Takes color well. Consistency is just right. It lathers well and the moisture content keeps your hands from drying out. This one is my pick.5
