PLENTY OF USABLE YARN
I BOUGHT THIS YARN TO MAKE PRAYER SHAWLS. GREEN IS THE COLOR DENOTING HEALING, SO THIS IS THE RIGHT ONE. I CAN MAKE AN ENTIRE GARMENT WITH A SINGLE SKEIN OF THIS YARN. IT WASHES WELL AND LASTS YEARS. THE YARN IS CONSISTENT IN SIZE. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS A LITTLE PILLING AFTER HARD USE. I EITHER CROCHET OR USE MY KNITTING LOOM TO GET A GOOD SHAWL WITH WHICH TO BLESS SOMEONE SICK.
5A softer, thinner yarn that works up very wellMuch softer yarn than most acrylics at this price point. However, this is a thinner yarn, not my idea of a true worsted. But it is lovely to work with and I have rarely encountered a knot in it. This grey is a very good color: neutral enough for both males and females.I do a lot of charity knitting and this (along with Caron One Pound) is one of my favorites.I do find it irksome that different colors are priced differently, so be aware of that.5Soft yarn at great price!
I crochet and donate everything to NICU's for preemies so a very soft yarn is a must have. Pound of Love is my favorite brand of yarn. Being disabled, going out to shop is very difficult so I depend on Amazon a lot. The cost of this yarn compares with what I'd pay with a 40% off coupon at craft stores. You can't go wrong with the purchase of this yarn! I've bought it in all colors over time.
5Yarn is rough and splits. Won t buy this yarn again. Not the quality nor softness I had hoped for or as advertised. Yarn splits and is rough. I was crocheting and got to a place where the yarn had a long tail hanging from it that was not spun into the strand. I think I m going to give the two pounds I have away or better yet throw them in the garbage. Return window closed. Not what I expected from Lion brand. Pound of a Love is a pound of you know what.1STRIKE ONE : I RECIEVED INCOMPLETE SKEIN OF YARN.
Whoever was in charge of this thought it was appropriate to send me a skein of yarn that had less than half of the yarn remaining. Yup I recieved a USED SKEIN OF YARN from this sender. Thankfully a new skein of yarn is supposed to be delivered to me this Thursday but needless to say, I'm pretty annoyed. Pictures will be included.I'll be updating this review when my replacement arrives but please beware before ordering.UPDATE : The replacement yarn just arrived and it's a brand new skein.
2Perfect for quick, washable projects.
For what this is, it is perfect. I needed a large amount of cheap yarn to make blankets to donate to animal shelters. The only qualifications are that they need to be washable, and relatively soft. This yarn fit the bill perfectly, and comes in nice bright colors, which (I hope) will help make the shelters these blankets are donated to look more appealing, as well as being a comfort to the animals.
5Smaller than a regular size 4 yarnThis yarn is labeled a #4 in weight, but it's more like a #3 Sport or or a Baby yarn.I enjoy working with smaller yarns so I'm not unhappy. But be warned if you're looking for a regular worsted yarn...you might have to adjust your pattern. So far it is easy to work with and feels very soft.4Nice yarnI used this yarn to make baby blankets for my friend's grandchildren. I enjoyed working with it. It's the first yarn that I've ever used that didn't have any splices or bad places hidden somewhere inside.5All the yarn is of very good quality. The only thing I have againtsthis yarn ...
All the yarn is of very good quality. The only thing I have againtsthis yarn is that some times ( In the middle) of the yarn it is bunched up and can get into knots, that take time getting un knotted. But other wise I love this yarn, I love the colors.
5This is great yarnThis yarn works really well for my amigurumi projects. I could have bought it for a more reduced price at one of the local craft store but I would rather pay more and have it delivered!5Great quality, great price. This is a wonderful buy for making baby blankets. It does tangle a bit toward the end of the skein, but otherwise it's great since you never have to work in any loose ends. It makes a nice size baby afghan and is soft whether knit or crocheted. It will work well any time you need a large quantity of the same color.5great yarnI love this yarn it's super soft and such good quality for the price and you get A WHOLE POUND and that's awesome. I'm working on a blanket right and it's already super cozy. I will say that I was using a 5 mm crochet crochet hook and it would get caught in between the individual strands or yarn so I started it over with a 6.5 mm hook and I haven't had that problem since. Just something to look out for. I'm still giving this yarn 5 stars5Great Yarn but dye lots don't matchLove the yarn. It's Lion Brand so it's quality. The real complaint is Amazon does NOT match dye lots. The project I had in mind for this yarn now has to be put on hold. The dye lots are so stunningly far apart I cannot use both skeins in the project. No more ordering yarn from Amazon for me.5It's beautiful :) Thank youI'm amazed at the quality of this yarn! It surpasses expectations & is on par with Knitpicks BRAVA ~ A yarn I also love. Breakdown as follows:Pound of Love = 1020 yards (923 metres) per 454g skeinKnit Picks BRAVA = 1090 yards (~997 m) per 500g skeinBoth are 100% Premium Acrylic,Made in Turkey.Cost-wise, Pound is just a smidge cheaper (when you factor in all the costs of shipping & taxes, if any). Now that makes for a colourful crafting world :) One skein is enough for a cable knit jumper in a Women's L/XL, a crochet cape or poncho, even a full and fluffy baby blanket to bless someone with.I'm so grateful & hope this review helps you make a wise purchase.5Buyer BewareVery poor quality, the inner yarn is full of knots and the yarn has areas where there are thicker areas like fur balls. I had to cut the yarn four times with one skein at a loss of about 1/4 of the skein. The second was worst I was so frustrated that I refused to go through the time consuming process of trying to salvage the skein and threw it away! Would not recommend this yarn. I have used other Lion yarns and have been satisfied but this particular product is inferior!1
