Last 2 boxes not as STRONG and break easily!
I've used these for several years (over 10) & up until this last couple of batches--I would have given 5 star rating! I am a soap maker & have to mix colors, fragrances, etc. This last 2 boxes were too thin, broke easily as I was stirring--never, ever did these sticks break before. Have they cheapened "quality-wise" to keep manufacturing costs to a minimum. BAD IDEA--will be looking for an alternative source--
3Great Craft Sticks - I use for Gardening
I bought these for gardening - for labeling my newly-planted rows in my raised beds and for labeling my potted plants grown for the garden. I can write in pencil on these--there's plenty of room to write on these larger-than-popsicle-sticks and I can write the name of the plant and the date planted on the craft stick. These are wonderful! Very happy with my purchase!
5They break and splinter easily although the splinters are not sharp enough to get ...
These sticks are a little softer than I had hope for. They break and splinter easily although the splinters are not sharp enough to get under the skin, they could easily hurt an eye or get caught in a throat. We supervise the 3 year old carefully when she plays with these. Funny thing is, she does not want to make things with they, she wants to push them all around in her grocery cart. These are really not for heavy duty use though.
3They served their purpose well enough
I bought it for my brother to use for his science fair project. He was building "houses", more like cubes, with them and a good chunk of these were either curved or inconsistent so we had to skip over a few of the sticks to find the ones we wanted. Otherwise, it was good. He was able to paint them ok.
4Craft Sticks are probably fine for whatever
These sticks are completely serviceable sticks. They're not outstanding in any way but they are adequate and did the job for me. Maybe it's nostalgia, but these are just not as good as the craft sticks (aka tongue depressors or "popsicle sticks") I remember from my childhood. They are relatively thin. Most of these are not perfectly flat; they are sort of convex on one side. I used these for labeling plants and writing on them with a Sharpie worked just fine. I wouldn't patch your yacht with them or anything but they'd probably be fine for whatever.
4Great for projects
A lot less messy then trying to save them from Popsicles. I own my own business where I make car decals. When a customer orders a car decals I make up little packets for the customer to apply the car decal. I found ordering these craft sticks were cheaper then buying them from the stores. I was worried at first if they would be flimsy. They are a great quality
5Useless for anything requiring a flat stick
"Simply Art" should be renamed to "Simply Warped". There isn't a straight, flat stick in the entire box. Useless for anything requiring a flat stick.
1Great for the price!
As a teacher there is no such thing as too manyPopsicle sticks. You get a lot for the price. Well definitely be buying these again when I run out.
5Must-have classroom supply- don't buy another brand!
As a teacher I can't have enough of these! I use them for all kinds of things from science and engineering to labeling (and of course, pulling sticks with names on them!!). I have bought "off-brand" popsicle sticks before thinking there would be no distinctive difference but boy was I wrong. Woodsies are the way to go! They're thick so they don't break easily. They are also well-shaved so you don't get splinters while handling them. I had no trouble writing on them with a sharpie.
5It's a bargain
For the price, I think it's a bargain. The sticks are relatively clean, without any black streaks that I've seen on there brands. The only thing I didn't quite like about it is that the edges are cut very cleanly. The edges has some minor juts that threatens to give you splitters if you run your finger against it. Other than that, it's pretty good.
