Customer Reviews

You may need to re-drill your guitar strap holesI've been using these strap locks since 2012 and they have never failed me. I ordered them for my Fender Jaguar and Jazz bass and I am a bit disappointed with a minor design change that Hennessey has made. When I first bought these for my Les Paul and Stratocaster back in 2012, I had no need for the screw that came with the straplocks because the strap pin that came with them was big enough to fit the screw that came with the guitar through it.Hennessey have since then made the hole on the strap pin smaller which renders the stock screw that came with the guitar or bass useless since it won't fit through. My solution was to buy 1/4 inch wooden dowels, enlarge the on the guitar, cover the dowel in epoxy, insert the dowel, drill a hole for the screw that came with the strap locks, put some epoxy on the screw for good measure and proceed to install it on the guitar as usual. In the end, it worked. The strap pin is solidly bolted on to the guitar and has withstanded sudden jerking and extreme movements with no signs of letting up.Overall, I like Hennessey strap locks. That being said, they should the make the strap pin hole large enough to fit stock guitar screws in because not everyone is willing to go through the hassle that I went through and it's just a huge inconvenience to have to modify a guitar just for a strap lock. 4 stars because I still like the locking mechanism.4buy a seti use them on my esp and they do just fine for me i am in wheel chair kept losing my strap and guitar but no more5Great strap locks.Well built but a little common sense will go a long way. Use the stock screws that originally came with your guitar to install these. OR... Take it to a professional guitar tech to have the original mounting hole filled with a dowel and re-drilled for the screws that came with the strap locks. These work just as well as Jim Dunlops or Ernie Balls. Definitely better than Schiller style. Also, use thread locker on the strap side mounts to lock them tight to the strap and they will not come out.The build quality is very good and they feel and look substantial. These are used on all of my touring guitars.5Hennessey 7200The ones I have do not look like the picture shown here. Mine have the smaller lug on the top. With that out of the way, I'll start off by saying I never really cared for the pin type of strap locks. It was always a pain in the kiester dealing with those things... you feed the shaft through the strap and slap a washer on then hope like hell you have enough shaft left to thread the nut on etc...The Hennessey 7200's are a breeze to install! They are equally easy to use! But above all, secure! I put them on all of my stage guitars!5Locked and loadedStrap locks have been around for quite awhile but I've only owned a few over the years. Last year I dropped a guitar and finally decided to step up strap security. Previously I had a few close calls, but the last fall was the last straw. These came highly reviewed on Amazon and the price seemed right. Once you start using these, you pretty much have to buy them for all your guitars, right? Especially if you have a favorite strap that floats between multiple favorite guitars. They are somewhat bulky, in comparison to others I really don't know. They can be installed easily enough. Straps are a snap to take on and off.One bad: The piece that is installed on the strap is screw down on the strap receiver holes. That nut does not stay tighened down, which violates the spirit of what this thing is all about! Seems to need a lock washer or some sort of stay-tite, otherwise the rotating nature of the strap is going to loosen it. I have to conciously remember to periodically check the tightness of the nut.Mine are all in gloss black, and look uniform and nearly invisible with a black strap.I would give it 5 stars if the nut stayed screw tight...4These are AWESOME/BEAUTIFUL.....IGNORE the people saying they fall out. They only do if you are stupid! READ thisThese are awesome and only cost $10 bucks, plus they look great. Solid, well built, better than the Dunlops I tried out.The people complaining about them coming unscrewed...frankly are stupid! And I don't like to call people that BUT COME ON!!! I noticed right away upon installation the screws for these are a touch smaller than the factory screws that came on my guitar. They were a little loose. Swap the screws if you can OR Add a little glue into the hole if they aren't tight, mix it around well with a pin or needle to evenly disburse the glue. Let dry a 2-3 hrs, then add screws...should be very tight if you have done your job.I didn't see anyone saying the mechanism was malfunctioning. Everyone who complained mentioned the screw coming loose. These are AWESOME! I am going to buy one for every guitar I own.5BEST ON THE MARKET BAR NONE!This is by far the BEST strap lock system. Much more simply locking system and easy to keep tightly locked. Move freely when engaged and are very simply to install with no cutting of your strap to get them to fit like Schallers. I used to use only schallers but these are far superior. The colors also look much better than Schallers and hold up better over time. In short.....there is NOT a better locking system on the market today. As for the whimps that complain they get loose with use, well you must not be strong enough to get them tight in the first place. Throw just a tiny dab of loc tite and they will never loosen again.5Awesome!!!Love these strap locks. Never again will my guitar strap slip off the post. Problem solved!5You'll want a set for all your guitars :)These strap locks are really cool and they work. They look good. Heavy duty. Easy to disconnect from post. One issue I had however was with how the coupler attaches to strap. It is basically just screwing a top piece onto bottom piece through the strap hole. The problem is the thereaded post is not adequately long enough for the strap I had so while playing and moving around the top piece would come loose and fall off. The strap is not excessively thick compared to anyothers so I was a little disappointed but it seems a little Loctite thread lock has done the trick :). We'll see. Over all they're great. Get a set. Use Loctite :)4All The Cool Kids Use TheseThese are what I decided to use years-ago. I own one strap and several guitars. They don't hang on the wall; I play them all, rotating through the different guitars at my whimsy. I drape the nice leather strap over my left shoulder, pick up any guitar, click, click, done. Ready to go. I have the receiver pins on all my guitars. Hennessy seems to have been a good brand to go with, as these things are not brand-cross-compatible. I'm committed to these. They work great, and come in cool colors for the little kids to enjoy! Solid brass. Give 'em a try!5
