GarbageArrived today, 16 Feb 2019, bought this for my wife, she has had several other ink pads from the Tim Holtz line and this one is garbage. She used it on the paper she was using to make a junk journal, and ink just is dried up and disappears or feels like something was added to pad to make it appear new. Do not buy from this seller!
1It was so easy to useI bought this to edge a Tarot deck I trimmed. It was so easy to use. Just take your time, I smeared some onto the face of the cards, you have to allow it time to dry. If you notice the smear you can wipe it off but even though I see it, it makes it look slightly aged. The edges look more used and worn it. I wish there was a gilded gold.
5MY MOST USED COLOR - ANTIQUE LINEN! And mine have lasted a LONG timeI "age" card decks by just running the ink pad along the sides of the decks. I have purchased a few times here and every time the pad has lasted a LONG time as long as I put the top back on securely. I have a pad from over a year ago that I have NOT re-inked that is still going strong.I think this is a GREAT color to age paper a bit. It just makes decks look more worn in and I also think it makes them easier to shuffle.
5I love the colorI really like this ink pad. I purchased it with the "Inkadinkado Mounted Rubber Stamp -Crescent Moon 2.5"X2" and I bought the color "Vintage Photo" What a great color, like a matte bronze-brown. When I first used my stamp on the ink pad, it seemed like there wasn't any ink on it, but there was more than I could tell. Practice stamp first to get the feel of the detail of your stamp. I gave it four stars only because I'd like it better if it was a little bit longer or wider.
4Its OkayI purchased this to compare it to my own formula for distressing paper. Tim Holtz products are good quality but I feel the price is way to expensive for what a person gets. I will use this up, but then I will go back to using Kiwi Liquid Brown Shoe Polish which dries permanent. Unlike this which is watercolor and can be reactivated with water.
3Another great product from the Tim Holtz collection by RangerThis was my first purchase of the Distress Ink Pad and I am very impressed by it. This color (vintage photo) is very much complimented by the distressed feature. It really accomplishes the overall "Vintage" look. I am looking forward to trying a different color to see if I am just as pleased with the results as I am with this color. I am usually happy with the Tim Holtz designs from Ranger. This brand is one of the top quality lines of stamp supplies and they live up to their reputation on quality. It is worth the higher price to get the results that their products produce.
5Makes distressing so simple...Works great for a quick distressing or touch up. I do a lot of crafts with wood and build a lot of furniture, typically with a distressed finish. I bought this on a whim because I recently moved and have not unpacked all my paints/stains, etc. I needed to distress a frame I made for my ugly 'builder grade' bathroom mirror - this product was the perfect solution without having to dig thru a mountain of boxes to find my supplies. Will probably buy more even after I do get unpacked.. it's just so simple to use.
5Used this to create portrait cases!I used this to create portrait cases for a celebrity gifting event. I'm so pleased with it! It stayed wet long enough to get the embossing powder on and didn't smudge. It would be nice if it was a *bit* sticker. I did notice some not-so-sticky spots at times where the powder didn't stay as well after dumping the excess off.One thing I did notice is that the lid doesnt stay on very tight so I wonder about it drying out sooner? I will keep an eye on it and be sure to update if this does happen!
5IN LOVE WITH TIM HOLTZ!The Vintage Photo pad is my favorite color of Distress Inks. All Distress Inks are so versatile, and Vintage Photo is the perfect color for any aging or antiquing that will absorb ink. Nearly everything that Tim Holtz makes is high quality, fun, and has so many uses. There are only a few colors of Distress Ink pads that I'm missing, but I use every single one of the colors that I have a lot. They blend so incredibly well with one another to create stunning projects. One negative thing that has nothing to do with the product itself, but is with the color that shows online. For instance, "Fired Brick" on Amazon looks quite pink (to me), but is actually very red in person. Just keep that in mind when ordering!
5Love the colorThis is my favorite color for distressing paper to look aged. I will mention that is does not match the Tim Holtz Distess Oxide though. I bought this thinking they d be the same color but they re not. This is darker than the oxide. Still love it though.
