It is very soft and is gonna make a beautiful captain America blanket for my son. I'm a quarter of the way the first skein, but where's the blue? So far it's only red and white! I ordered 3 more of this same yarn, hope I don't have to send it back. Not happy with the lack of blue.3No Kissing under this MistletoeI'd given up on Red Heart Super Saver because it is scratchy and more expensive than other yarns but I couldn't resist this Mistletoe pattern as I thought it would make great Christmas gifts and hoped for the ridiculous price of $8.17 a skein it would be soft and better quality. I was wrong. I started making a hat and couldn't imagine giving something that scratchy and uncomfortable to anyone as a gift or for charity. How does Red Heart do so well? I don't get it. I always bought Nicole yarn at A.C. Moore but they've gone out of business. That yarn was so soft and inexpensive and I hope Amazon or Michael's will start carrying the Nicole brand even though it was made for A.C. Moore. Jeff Bezos, are you listening?1Great value for partyUsed this to make shorts for July themed party. It took two sleeting to make a size medium pair. It was better priced than at the local big box store.The shorts were a hit!!! The yarn really isn't soft for regular wear items like shorts. Definitely need to wear something under them!5Have used Red Heart Yarn for years and been very satisified until nowYarn was very much cheapened from previous use of Red Heart Yarn. The 4 ply yarn easily unraveled with careful use and one skein I will simply throw out as I would be ashamed to present a war vet with a patriotic hat made from it.The shade of blue is almost black and hard to work with and does not reflect flag colors in hats I am knitting for war vets.Very disappointed and will not reorder.1Cute variegated patternThis is your typical Red Heart yarn so it is a full synthetic but I was looking for something a little out of the ordinary when it came to the "stars and stripes" and this has a pretty cute, self-striping aspect! I enjoyed creating my project using this yarn and the blue section even has "stars" flecked in so you get all of the aspects of the American flag without having to use multiple strands of yarn!5Arrived on time and in good condition.This is the first time I'm using thicker yarns since I usually only use lace or fingering, but I think I'll need to buy more from this seller soon. It's very sturdy and doesn't start loosening a little when the hook pokes through it or when I unravel the stitches. I haven't managed to test washing or using it yet since I haven't finished the piece I'm making with it, but so far I have high hopes for this yarn.5Not too badThis is a decent yarn to get. The pattern is meant to be used on a slightly smaller scale than I am using to get the flag affect. I m making a big blanket (about 6.75 x 4.5 ), so if you were making a bit smaller and more common size it would work great for a flag pattern.The 4 rating is due to the stiffness of the yarn itself. It s not real soft and tends to want to come apart so I have to be careful to not miss a strand while I crochet. I would give it a 4.5 if we could do 1/2 stars ourselves.4Pools, but long repeatOne thing that is nice is this yarn pools. However, the repeat is really long, which makes this yarn hard to work with, especially for planned pooling beginners. I am also not so crazy about how this looks, pooled. I stopped partway through because I just don t think the pattern looks nice and given that was not worth the effort with such a long repeat. I did enjoy the challenge of pooling such a long repeat, but if you are looking for an easy pooling yarn, this is not one.3
