Customer Reviews

I shouldn't have had to buy this, but Rode decided to use non-standard size threading...I wish Rode would make their threads standard, but they don't. So I had to spend $40 to get whatever the heck this is, 17, 18, 19mm? I don't know. It is compatible with the Rode NT-USB USB Condenser Mic, which is what I own, that's why I had to get it. Rode mics are NOT compatible with standard shock mount threads.5Good Idea, But Blocks the Knobs on My Rode USB MicI liked the idea and look of this, BUT:I bought it for my Rode USB mic. It fits just fine. But it blocks the two knobs on the mic. I thought twice about sending it back, thinking 'maybe it won't bother me.' But I know it will bother me, so I sent it back. The product in and of itself probably works just fine and with a different mic, you probably don't have to worry about blockage. But for the Rode USB mic, it does block the knobs, for which I would rather have easy access to.3Great, as most Rode products are. What can you say about a shockmount. The podcaster mounts perfectly and it absorbs any movement nicely. It is SO much lighter than something like the shockmount for the Blue Yeti. It is exactly what I expect from a Rode product.5No Brainer Buy This NowIf you are looking for a quality professional product this is it. I tried seven much cheaper products and they quite frankly sucked.Go with R de and you will be thrilled with your choice.5Does the job, and does it well The job of a shockmount is to hold the mic securely, and to keep from transmitting vibration into the microphone. By that standard, it does the job superbly. By any standard, it's well worth the price of purchase. Used in combination with a good microphone boom arm and the Rode Podcaster or Procaster, this thing is golden.I would not get the one with the integrated pop filter. It's not that I don't recommend using an external pop filter, because I do use one. But the shockmount with the integrated one looks like it puts the pop filter in the wrong position. With the Rode Podcaster or Procaster, you need to speak right into the end of it because of its proximity effect. You need the pop filter directly in front of the end of the mic. 5Works great. I've noticed that I have to arrange the ...Works great. I've noticed that I have to arrange the position of the mic to hang at its lowest and most balanced point while still trying to achieve a good angle to talk into since the Procaster is heavy and the screws on the Shockmount are taxed to keep the mic locked in place.Overall, it works really well. I don't hear any noise coming up through the mic that didn't get there by me banging hard on a table anyway.4Only seems to work on... Procaster, Podcaster, K2, NTK, NT1-A, NT2-1, NT1000, and NT2000.Says it on the back of the box, but apparently was too much to add in the description or images. Now I'm left with a shock mount that I'm unable to use with my pop shield because I happened to get the RODE NT-USB. If you don't mind not having the pop shield though, it seemed to fit rather fine. I feel like this happens quite often now that I've looked at the comments and such, but I guess this is what craigslist is for. 1Not as nice with the Rode NT-USB knobs and included pop filter.I bought this with the Rode NT-USB (with included pop filter) and PSA 1 swivel arm. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SF6LGXQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1The shock mount made the include pop filter useless because the way it attaches is incompatable. The knobs on the side of the NT1-USB are also very hard to get at with the shock mount attached. For this I took of 1 star.Otherwise it's a very sturdy and handsome addition to my desktop setup.4DOESN'T FIT AT2020It's a great looking shock mount, well built. DOES NOT FIT WITH THE AT2020. Some people said it does in the Q/A. It doesn't. The at2020 is too large to fit into the hole. Plain and simple.Edit: I bought a metal filing kit and spent about 2 hours manually grinding down the rivets on this thing so my at2020 would fit into it, finally squeezed the at2020 in and it fit perfectly, didn't even need additional tethering (hot glue was the plan). So if you really want a black spider mount, you can grind this one down for the at2020.5In combination with a good microphone boom arm and the Rode Podcaster or ProcasterThe Rode shock mount holds the mic securely, and to keeps transmitting vibration from going into the microphone. This does a superbly job. It's well worth the price of purchase. In combination with a good microphone boom arm and the Rode Podcaster or Procaster, this Product is awesome.5Shouldn't sag, and shouldn't need a wrench!Just set this up, but it will probably be going back. Highly disappointed that one would need a wrench to lock it into angle. Bands should also be quality enough to not sag. If this is designed for the Procaster, they need to go back to the drawing board. It obviously cannot handle the weight. Overall, very unhappy, and will likely box it back up for return in a few minutes. As far as shock mount, sure it works. Just expect to use it at 90 degrees; because that's all you can depend on. One should not have to constantly readjust it for sagging down slowly in time at an angle, or with any movement.1Pivot point weak. plastic pieces. This is the only product for the procaster microphone. it does sag ever so slightly when used in a hanging mount with the microphone close to parallel with the desk surface, mounting the mic vertically is almost impossible, it just wants to fall, because i cant get it tight enough. the piece of the mount that connects to the mic arm is plastic with a brass bi-level insert, dont need the adapter if you dont have one.. which was nice, but still would have liked to have seen the adapter included. because the mount is painted metal, steel im guessing, its magnetic at least, i would have liked to have seen more aggressive teeth in the metal and a tighter tolerance on the fit between metal and plastic, i also would have liked a bigger knob on the screw, as well as seeing metal there as well, its a brass piece that is glued into a small plastic knob. and i fear that over tightening it will just cause the pieces to separate., i would have liked to have had metal all around. and these few bits of plastic doesnt seem that much of cost saving. the plastic around the nut in the pivot point seems crude, unfinished, there are still plastic burrs all around the inside. taking the bolt and nut out the pivot piece and taking it off and putthem them back in without the shock mount, i tightened it as much as i could until the threads bottomed out and when i went to see how tight it was it just slipped right over, 'teeth' and all. the ledge that the nut side sits on is also very very thin, over tightening would cause it to compress and shear right off. i expected more from this product. i can forgive the not included adapter but with the plastic pieces i just cant truly say im fully satisfied, though i do have to use the product if i am to use the procaster microphone i have with a shockmount with it.The good note however. the shockmount itself is very sturdy. and oce the mic is tightened on it doesnt feel like its going anywhere,1
