Customer Reviews

Outstanding, highly recommend!Sounds amazing, hooked it up to my Marshall Amp and jammed for over an hour. Rich sound quality, bright highs. Saw some poor reviews, umm this was more than expected and was a great value. I would rant on this a little more, but it's time to get back to playing.5Simple design meets great toneThis pickup is exactly what I was looking for. I occasionally perform small gigs, and was looking for something to expand my volume headroom on acoustic. I pair this with a Vox AC15 C2 and play a Jasmine acoustic. The foam inserts provided to hold the unit in place required some adjusting to fit the sound hole on this guitar, but I believe it's just a smaller model. Although I can understand issues of "hum", I found that I simply have to toy with the volume/gain/tone on my amp and the issue can easily be resolved. Great build and sound!5Defective product ruined my amp - What a piece of crapDefective - bottom part of the plug broke off inside my amp requiring me to get a replacement input jack to the tune of 80 bucks. A total POS. I used this thing twice - inside my home office so it didn't get damaged outside of my house. Seller (Express Music Instruments) refused to do a thing about it. This is the single worst experience on Amazon I have had, and I buy and review a lot of stuff. This thing is junk and a danger to those who use it.1AmazingI had a gig coming up & didn't want to use a stage acoustic guitar mic. I needed something easy & fast that I could plug into an amp or directly into the P.A. system. I really love the sound of my acoustic guitar that was coming out of the monitors & the crowd seem to enjoy it also. I also bought an adapter to extend my guitar cord when needed, the best bang for your buck.5Pick up for the AcousticCould not be happier. Sound is clear and crisp. Easy to install and remove. Cord is plenty long.Keep on rocking' in the free world.5GoodWorks great, except the cable needs taping down to avoid string contact so it looks a little rigged. This will fatten the tone of a thin sounding guitar w light strings very well. If your guitar already has a fatter sound like mine then a good cardioid microphone would work better.4Excellent pickup. I was stunned at how good the ...Excellent pickup. I was stunned at how good the guitar sounded (Yamaha FG-110) that I received for Christmas 42 years ago. Nice tone, good bass. Highly recommended.5I'm not sure about this pickup up yet.I'm not sure about this pickup yet because I received it a couple of days ago but the new guitar I Iplan to use it on has not been delivered yet. I have a Takamine mahogany top acoustic guitar on order and this pickup should look good on it. that said, I tried it out on my Yamaha scf08 guitar to see how it sounded and was not impressed. If you don't know, this guitar is a entry level guitar that I got at Costco about ten years ago. Even as a beginner, it sounded just ok. Nothing great, so I added a Fishman Rare Earth pickup through a crate acoustic amp and it sounded great and has gotten better over the years. When this pickup arrived I attached it to my guitar at the back of the sound hole because the other pickup is simi permanently attached and I didn't want to remove it. Although the sound was ok, I had to turn up the gain on the amp and the low E did not come through all that well. Perhaps it was mounted at the rear of the sound hole and because I didn't remove the existing pickup may of had something to do with that. The good thing about my amp is that it has two channels. I can leave the gains alone and not have to mess with them when I change guitars. I'll update my review after my new guitar arrives. Also, before anyone asks, I do not care much for the looks of a electric acoustic guitar and being on a fixed income price matters.4Good sound at a reasonable priceThe pickup does what it claims to do - gives you a decent sound from your acoustic guitar at a reasonable price. I like the fact that the cord is long. This pickup is not meant to be permanently installed, so the long cord is very convenient, especially if you intend to "play out" with it. The sound quality is good. The purchaser needs to understand there are no controls whatsoever on the pickup, so volume and tone most be regulated from the amp or PA being used. The wood design is appealing, if you are concerned about aesthetics, this one looks good on the guitar and you do have choice of color tones. The biggest negative is that the pickup easily slips out of the sound hole. I read many reviews, noted how big the sound hole should be to accommodate the pickup, and even though the measurements on my guitar meet that standard, it is still very difficult to get the pick up to stay in place. I seem to have the best outcome when the pickup is installed in the sound hole at the spot closest to the bridge. So to sum up, if you are looking for a pick up that you do not permanently attach to your guitar, this one will give you a decent sound at a reasonable price. But you may need to do some finagling to keep it in place.4Somewhat noisy, but a fun and useful toolThe unit is well constructed and the cord appears to be high quality. Trimming the foam to allow it to properly fit my fender dreadnought acoustic was a bit of a hassle but now it fits nice and snug yet can still be easily removed. Unfortunately I still experienced some buzz regardless of where I used it/what amplifier I hooked it up to, and the sound lacks some brilliance and transients. Although I expected better performance for the price I still am satisfied with the product, it's great for jamming at home and always a good thing to keep in a gig bag.3
