Customer Reviews

Works with phantom ampWorks like a charm. Lots of dB in my home from kids and this tones everything down. I have to use the max setting in order to diffuse enough noise. Probably going to buy another for another mic later on in the future. Don t second guess yourself on this one. Just grab it. It works5Works PerfectlyI was looking for something too attenuate line level audio to consumer level audio, and this worked perfectly without any degradation too the signal. I have always been happy with Shure products, this is one more item I can add to that last. It was perfect for what I needed.5Shure works good! The microphone on my Denon MC4000 runs extremely hot. The slightest upward adjustment on my volume knob would case horrible feedback. This attenuator solved the problem 110%.. no more feedback and I have a fuller range of microphone sound control. Not the cheapest attenuator out there, but the solid build quality from a reputable company like Shure justifies the premium price.5Good Quality and worked right the first time and every time. You can't screw this one up. It connects only one way. Put this in between your microphone and the microphone cable and all of your feedback problems are over.5If you are into weddings or quinceaneras and like recording audio from the speaker like meIf you are into weddings or quinceaneras and like recording audio from the speaker like me. This is the item that you would need so your audio is not distorted.5One of the most important things in my kitI do live events and you never know what you're going to get when you get to a location and plug into the board. I keep one of these with me at all time because at times there is a hiss from the board or a his from the XLR's at the location if they have their own AV team. Every videographer knows that sound is an important part of delivering footage and this is a life saver.5Meets SHURE Standard of QualityThis rugged 3-position attenuator is capable of passing "simplex" phantom power. Designed for low impedance mics (I measured the attenuator impedance (1KHz) : Zin ~ 1000 ohms on the female side and Zo ~ 54 ... 200 ohms on the male side, depending on the range). Shure did not post the impedances on their web site. This expects a low impedance source (most modern condenser mics) and aa load impedance of a few hundred ohms or more for the rated attenuation. Pin 1 is joined to the case at both ends (good). Label indicates unit was made in Mexico. Impedance measured on NTI Minirator Pro.5A necessary device that in some applications, allows you to get the absolute most out of your equipment.A great little device that anyone working with audio should have several pairs of. We use them primarily in a recording studio setting to pad down hot mic pres that don't have builtin output attenuation. This is especially effective with "character pres" that you want drive hard going in to the pre for maximum color and saturation but then pad the signal down going back in to the DAW. Product is very well made; the pad switch and XLRs seem very durable and feel like they will hold up to years of use. Shure certainly knows how to make durable, workhorse equipment. These have all worked flawlessly for us.5Just what I neededThis attenuator was absolutely perfect for my needs. I have a Yamaha Motif ES keyboard with a built-in harmonizer, and the input can easily be overdriven by a strong signal, causing really unpleasant distortion. Trying to keep the tiny input trim knob on exactly the right setting at all times was frustrating. 15dB is just the right amount of attenuation to allow me to set the trim level at maximum and use the internal settings to fine-tune the level. It solved my problem, and like other Shure products, it's very solidly built. It looks like it will last a long time.5Great for cutting back active DI signal levelsTwo of the several DIs I use for bass guitar put out signals that are way too hot for the boards I feed. This attenuator fixes that. The ability to adjust attenuation is a great feature. And yes, it really does pass phantom power. Both DIs I tested it with run on phantom power, and both ran fine with this unit in the signal path.Great quality, too. Feels well-made, including the slide switch. Tip of the day: Don't cheap out on things like this. Spend the money and buy the good stuff. Shure knows what they're doing.5
