    so far so good I had a sure wireless system sitting at work (i teach music) doing nothing, so I purchased this so I could use my electric guitar when I teacher. Works great, no complaints whatsoever.**UPDATE 4/4/18**So I finally had to get another one as the first on was becoming sketchy. The first one never really seemed to connect tightly to the transmitter so I tried taping it and it did not help. It also started to cut in and out and I just decided to get a new one. The new cable has a much better connection, though it looks identical in every way. I honestly think it could be a bit more rugged in construction so I'm reducing my rating to 4 stars. 4Does what it's supposed to, but could be better.I bought this cable for use with Shure BLX wireless bodypack transmitter and electric acoustic guitar, mainly because I was having too much trouble trying to make my own with a standard instrument cable ... too darn hard to properly solder the leads at the TA4F end. Another reason I wanted to make my own is that I wanted the cable to be a much shorter, custom length (a little more than a foot), so there's no excess cable hanging off my back when I'm moving around/playing. Another reason I wanted to make my own is that I prefer the Neutrik right-angle 1/4" plugs to the nickel/chrome jobs Shure uses with the WA302 (straight plug) and WA304 (right-angle plug).So, here's what I did. I bought the WA302 because it's a little cheaper than the WA304 (for no apparent reason other than straight plug vs. right angle plug). I cut the TA4F half of the cable to the exact length I wanted, and replaced the Shure 1/4" plug with my favorite, black Neutrik right-angle plug. Result: a perfect fit and look. Shure uses a smaller gauge, but nicely-shielded mic cable (copper-strand shielding, cotton insulation, red/black main leads) in order to make it a better fit for the TA4F connector. Problem is, the 1/4" plug they're using at the other end is designed for the typical, larger gauge instrument cable, and when the makers clamp this smaller-gauge cable in the plug housing, it leaves a pretty noticeable gap in the cable opening at the end of the plug. They've put a shrink-wrap tube on the cable for protection here, but I just thought this connection looked a little "bush-league" for a Shure product, and that's why I dinged the product one star. It *works* exactly as it's supposed to, but just doesn't look as "finished" as I think it should.The Neutrik plug that I replaced the Shure plug with uses a "clutch" type clamp to secure the cable in the center of the plug housing, not on one side of it. This three-prong clamp has little serrated edges that squeeze the cable as you screw the end cap into the plug to complete/seal the assembly. The end cap has a centered hole in it that stretches to fit the cable you're using. The Shure cable fit perfectly in the hole, creating a nice seal against dust and moisture intrusion at the entry point. As a matter of fact, it came out so nice that I'm buying another Neutrik plug so that I can use the remaining portion of the Shure cable to make myself an identical spare, with the smaller gauge Shure cable making it much easier to prep and solder the leads at the TA4F end ...All in all, even though I "hacked" this part to fit my particular needs, I'm still happy with the purchase. I'd just like to see Shure put a little more effort into the "cosmetics" of the connection at the 1/4" inch end of this thing.4Works well, compatible with Shure packsMy Shure wireless guitar system originally came with the screw-on type connector, which eventually got damaged (looks like someone stepped on it) and though it still works, I sought a back-up. After checking that my pack was compatible with this cable, I purchased it. This cable clicks in, works fine, but does seem a bit delicate/non-sturdy, so it encourages me to be careful with it. I wish I didn't have to think about that, but so be it.4Good, but has some problems.The cable is decent, but it is expensive for what you get and the cable is much longer than you will need for most wireless applications where the body-pack is attached to the instrument strap as recommended by the Shure GLX instructions.The Neutrik 1/4" plug is great quality, but it has a rather long cap and rubber strain relief. It got in the way, sticking out of my instrument further than a standard Switchcraft type 1/4" plug. I changed it to a Neutrik angled plug, then realized you can also buy the threaded, locking mini-xlr from Rean (a Neutrik company). So now I buy the ends and make my own with better cable and the connector I prefer for about half the cost.3Failed QuicklyBuy the parts and have them made or solder yourself. These will break fast. I've had 3 break with very little use. Worked good when I got it, but only took a few uses before it got a short. I've barely moved it enough where there should be any problems. I'm going to have to use better cable and re-solder it. Not cool.1Solder your own if you can.I only bought this because I was in a rush and needed a right angle connector to go to my wireless transmitter. Looking back, it would have been way cheaper to just pull a right angle plug from an existing patch cable (or buy a separate right angle plug) and then remove the straight plug from the cable included with most wireless systems, then solder the angled plug on. I ended up doing that anyway and it was basically free since I had tons of angled patch cables sitting around. The plug is a quality Neutrik though, which is nice.3Works for Line6 G50Classic Shure quality. Purchased this for my Line6 G50 pack. They have the same connector, but Shure s is made way better. Nice upgrade, budget friendly5Excellent right-angle jack for a Shure GLXD1 body packBought this to attach my new Shure GLXD1 body pack to a p-bass. Works perfectly, doesn't poke out of the front of the instrument.Note that the attachment is pushbutton release, unlike the screw attachment for the wire that came with the body pack. Also, the 1/4" jack is not as high quality as the original, but the price was right and it works.4Needs to be longer and the lock fails Works great just wish they made it a little longer. 2 feet barely makes it to the output jack. UPDATE July 2018. They do not use the same end to plug into the wireless pack. This was fine because it locked in instead of screwing in. well this past weekend it failed. The thing kept falling out to the point i couldn't use it anymore. luckily i had the original cable that came with the unit. I'll stick to this one and replace the straight plug with an angle. 2Replacement for Line 6 G50 WirelessJust needed something with a right angle but not too long. I place my pack right above the adjustment buckle on my strap and this is the perfect length to wrap around strap once and plug into the guitar. Feel solid as well. And at risk of sounding like a douche (which I'm not, I'm just stating so you know the validity of the review in case you've read some negative feedback on the product) - i have been touring for over a decade all with wireless units which have needed replacement cables; you don't need anything crazier or nicer than this. If you need a right angle cable for your Line 6, get this in confidence.5Short and thinThis cable is nice especially for the money BUT, it is a bit short. Also it's a bit thin but that is not a deal killer. The shortness is more of an issue. I was able to lower my body pack some on the guitar strap which helped. I may send it back as I really don't like where I have to put my body pack on the strap in order for the cable to reach my guitars input.3Very useful if you don't like having the straight plug coming ...Very useful if you don't like having the straight plug coming out of the front or side of you guitar or bass. the way the jack is on my bass, I wasn't able to put it on the stand with the straight plug - this solves that problem and is a cleaner look when the cabling is closer and tighter to the guitar body. Works as a perfect swap to the cable provided on the Line 6 transmitters.4
