Description

  • Colonize the Ocean: Build floating settlements and access natural resources hidden beneath the seas of the alien planet. Alien beasts with unique abilities inhabit the water and challenge the player in new ways. The ocean provides a fully replayable map, new gameplay mechanics and strategic possibilities for players to reign supreme on their new world
  • Dynamic Leader Traits: Players and AI Leaders alike unlock new Traits through gameplay and activate different combinations to respond to the changing world. These dynamic sets of Traits also provide benefits and add to the new Diplomacy system, governed by the new Fear and Respect attributes.
  • New, Enhanced Diplomatic Options: Shape the diplomatic landscape by using political capital to upgrade your traits, change diplomatic relationships, and leverage the benefits of your allies traits.
  • New Sponsors: Four new factions have been added to the game including Al Falah, nomad explorers descended from wealthy and resilient Middle Eastern states that possess a rich cultural and commercial heritage.
  • New Artifact System: Collect and combine powerful relics to unlock new perks, unit upgrades, and buildings for your faction on the new world.
  • New Hybrid Units: Affinities are competing visions for the future of humanity. By investing in multiple Affinities, rather than specializing in just one, players can unlock special hybrid Affinity units and upgrades.
  • New Biomes: Two new world types have been added. Primordial worlds are rife in volcanic activity and the chaotic landscape of a world still forming. Frigid worlds have cooled in their great age, their surfaces covered with icy oceans and frozen tundra.

Customer Reviews

My favorite version of CivilizationI love this game. The game itself is fun and definitely worth getting, and got even better when I added the Rising Tide expansion. I really like the space theme and I think it works great. I have played Civilization III through VI and this is by far my favorite one.5Great Expansion!Adds more features/factions, new interactions with other Civilizations. This is also very nostalgic for me because I played Alpha Centauri, which Beyond Earth is a spiritual successor to.5Fast delivery and excellent conditionI don t know I had to have already played and stored beyond earth 1 before I can play this one 3Fun game, I have spent countless hours just learning ...Fun game, I have spent countless hours just learning the ropes. The art work and the animations are fantastic. There is a huge AGW bias built into the game narrative as to why the seeding had to happen. But past that, its a great game. Other left bias and assumptions pop up during the game also. I hope Sid Meier dives back into the Railroads games again. I loved playing those on my first XP PC.5I love the technology web (instead of a linear tree) and ...I love the technology web (instead of a linear tree) and the affinities and virtues - You can create so many different types of civilizations with the choices you make each step of the way. I love the various alien creatures! I will be playing this game for years to come.5I can't recognize anything good or badIf you are a fan of Civ this is the same concept, except unlike Civ you can't visually understand what is happening as the game progresses. In Civ you see your cities growing, you recognize the farms, mines, roads, etc. around your cities, the mineral deposits and oil that you recognize and want to have or need for your development. In BE you don't know what anything is. Yes, it's a different world and it's suppose to have different things, but is my city growing? I can't recognize anything good or bad. Am I doing O.K.? Am I on the right track? I don't know? I get warnings that my neighbor is ahead of me because of X,Y, & Z. What does that mean? How do I counter act that?I could be standing next to a friendly or killer plant and attack it just in case before it kills me. So much for making harmony with the world? You would have to play this game over and over until everything new becomes second nature and recognizable and I don't want to take that time to get to that point. Because even towards the end of the game the visuals aren't as attractive as Civ on Earth. The cool stuff at the beginning did not keep me excited thru the game.2but I was expecting a lot more and what I really dislike the most is that I had to go through ...This was a remake of "Alpha Centauri" with some updated visuals etc. The game ran okay, but I was expecting a lot more and what I really dislike the most is that I had to go through Steam to run it. My advice is that if you do not want to run a game thru steam, you need to read the fine print and perhaps you may have to pass on the purchase. I know all about the cloud stuff, but this is not one of those places where I want to participate in the cloud. The visuals are okay, the game ran okay, but again this is an "Alpha Centauri" remake. The original alpha Centauri was absolutely incredible and I still play it.3It's like an updated version of Alpha Centari. Excellent game.Love the game. Reminds me of the Alpha Centauri game. Has elements of civilzation series and a Alien planet far out in space with different human fractions. If it loved Alpha Centauri, you would love this game too.5Love playing this gameI enjoy strategy games and enjoyed Civ1-4. Of all the Civilization games I've played, I've enjoyed this one the most. Really like the game play and graphics. It does support touch well. The only failing is running it on a screen higher than FHD (full HD) causes the type to be incredibly small and hard to read.5Makes Beyond Earth BetterWhen playing BE I disliked diplomat options and this was close to Alpha Centauri, but not a 100%. Rising Tide fixes the diplomat issues with giving more freedom. The biggest part was adding sea cities like Alpha Centauri which is work the DLC.5
