    Singer continues to excellNeedles maintain a sharp point. They are accurate in size so I know what to expect from any needle. 5Hit and miss.....My original review was 15 yards of thick polypro webbing and velcro and not a single broken needleI used this with some thick #69 upholstery thread to sew some polyweb slings and even though it was thicker than denim these needles just kept right on going. No broken needles, no bent needles, Just powerful precision. First time I've sewed anything that thick without changing a needle out.A few weeks later I had to sew more polypro webbing and a more involved 3 layer canvas job. The singer needles worked great at first, but when it started going wrong it went wrong fast. I did probably 1000 yards of thread through the first one before it broke. The replacment lasted 5 minutes. The third replacement lasted 10 minutes and I was really going easy on it by that point. I ended up going through 5 of these needles to complete my project. I was sewing poly pro webbing and canvas with a maximum thickness of about 4mm.I ended up buying schmetz 18/110 needles and have not broke a single one yet. 3Can be defectiveOne of the needles had the eye filled with chrome so it can't be threaded. I guess a few get past QA, or are they selling factory seconds? Not worth the time to return, the other needles worked ok but I like Schmetz better. 3When you need to sew canvasI had to fix a tent for a friend, who is a reenactor. My machine does not like anything but Singer needles - I learned long ago that this OLD singer is nothing but trouble if I try another brand. Makes no sense, but it works well if it is a Singer, but gets really balky with anything else. Any sewer will no what I mean (and yes, I do have another machine that will run well on anything, but I won't use that with canvas).These got to where I was, when I couldn't find anything locally, and did the job. 5Fits and works fine!So handy to be able to order the needles and have it delivered to my home! These are high quality Singer needles. It saved me from having to drive the 20 miles to a sewing machine store. The cost of gasoline alone paid for them. 5These sew very well through waxed canvasI am in the process of sewing waxed canvas seat cushions for an Airstream trailer I am renovating, and I am new to sewing. I bought these needles after reading that size 16 or size 18 are best for waxed canvas and I am glad I went with the size 18. It sews through the waxed canvas easily and I have yet to have a needle break! I'm using bonded nylon thread and again, I have had no issues. The bonded nylon threads through the needle with ease. They work great with my heavy duty singer sewing machine. I have no complaints! 5Strong heavy duty needles.Used this with the strong thread to stitch the patches in my boat canvas. These worked very well. Singer is always a very good company and make quality products. 5Thank youThe will work great for me 5but an excellent quality productWrong size for my need, but an excellent quality product.
