Description

Limited Deluxe Experience Edition includes two bonus tracks, a 'heart' charm, a calendar and VIP access to the Celtic Woman online community! The international Irish music phenomenon, Celtic Woman, is renowned for singing inspirational melodies and heartwarming songs that stir fans of all ages and cultures. Songs From The Heart was filmed in HD in the lush Irish country setting of the majestic Powerscourt House & Gardens. Under a dramatic evening summer sky with the backdrop of the historic estate and musical support of a 27 member film orchestra, 20 member Discovery Gospel choir, 12 member Aontas Choir, 10 member Extreme Rhythm Drummers and an 11 piece Bag Pipe ensemble performing rooftop, the radiant Celtic Woman uplifted their adoring audience with Songs from the Heart. Musical Director David Downes has created a completely new program of repertoire that showcases the beauty and ethereal presence of vocalists, Chlo?, Lisa, Lynn, and Alex along with the energetic inventiveness of Celtic violinist M ir?ad within a setting of cinematic proportions that was transformed for the first-time-ever into a concert stage. Songs From The Heart is a true celebration of Ireland and the pure essence of Celtic Woman.

Customer Reviews

Isle of HopeCletic Woman fans will love this new CD. This CD is one of my favorites. The Isle of Hope really hit home with me. My own grandmother as a teenager came to this country in 1900 leaving Germany and her parents never to see them again. Her parents had to save all their money to purchase passage for her to America. Her parents hoped she would have a better life more oppertunity in America. I want to thank Chloe and the girls for a magnificent performance. I was worried when Mave and Orla left, where would David Downs find equal replacements? He worked a miracle in finding Alex and Lynn. I don't believe you will be disappointed in purchasing the CD, Songs from the Heart. I was disappinted a little with the sound recording on the DVD as mine sounds like it has an echo problem. I would still recommend the DVD anyway. Please keep on singing and producing such wonderful music. I especially like the Irish songs.5Beautiful Collection of SongsAll members of Celtic Woman are truly talented artists and performers. I think some of their other collections are better, but this is still a great gathering of wonderful songs.Songs that were okay/ I don't really listen to (just my opinion)Fields Of GoldMy Lagan LoveWhen You BelieveThe New Ground The Coast Of Gali iaO, America!Songs I love/ are truly amazingThe Lost Rose FantasiaGalway BayGoodnight My AngelYou'll Be In My HeartThe Moon's A Harsh MistressNon C' Pi Amazing GraceN l S 'n L Isle Of Hope, Isle Of TearsI think overall, I like Believe better, but these are definitely artists to fall in love with and collect for the sake of collecting.4Love this CD Deluxe EditionMy husband and I love Celtic Women. We've been following them the last 3-4 years on PBS where we first discovered them. We have their first CD and DVD that we saw. Now we've purchased this and the DVD. We love this CD and DVD better than their first one. They've just gotten better with time. Love the music selected. This is a great companion to go along with the DVD. One of the best songs in the whole concert "You'll Be In My Heart" sung by by Alex is included with this CD. It's a pity they didn't include that in the DVD not only because of the song but the staging and effects that went along with it. Not quite the same just to hear the music on that one and not see it too. But at least we can hear it on this CD.I highly recommend this CD and also the DVD for this Concert it is their best as far as I'm concerned. This Deluxe set includes 2 extra songs at the end which are "live" from the Concert. "The Call" and the "Finale/Mo Ghile Mear" which are not included in the original CD. The heart "charm" that comes with this is nice but not why I purchased it. This Concert was stunning and we love it the best of all of them so far. Get it you won't be sorry.5Love this music and these ladiesI first heard them on public TV and fell in love. They are so gracious, beautiful an sing like angels. My husband and I got to see them in concert in Norfolk, VA and it was wonderful. If you like this type of music you'll love Celtic Women. My husband is so wonderful, he also took me to Ireland last October and I fell in love with everything about it. Well the driving on the wrong side of the road takes a bit of getting use to but the people are soooooo nice. Love Americans, the leaves were changing but the landscape was green and flowers were blooming. The seafood is to die for. I honestly think that if I wanted to move to another country just for say 2 years to experience the life there it would be Ireland. Anyone that has an opportunity to go, please do so-you won't be disappointed. We also lost our Ipad and thought it was gone for good. The day after we got home the rental car company called to ask if we were missing anything and sent it right back to us, and never even looked inside. That's now nice they really are.5Another winner from Celtic Woman and David DownesI have just recently been tuned in to Celtic Woman - I have no clue where I've been in the last 5 years as far as music goes. I saw the first DVD and wanted to go and see them in concert. After New Journey and Christmas DVD's....I knew I had to go see them in concert. But after the loss of Maeve and Orla, I was a little concerned about the "new" Celtic Woman. I guess I had nothing to fear. Lynn and Alex fit right in with the "old-timers" Chloe and Lisa. I have watched various You tube videos, a few of which were from this last venue at Powerscourt House and Gardens, but was sorry to see that Lagan Love was the only solo for Lynn and True Colors was chosen for Alex. I really think Alex's voice was much better shown in her rendition of "You'll be in my heart" (which was NOT on the DVD or CD) and although Lagan Love shows Lynn's versitility and range, I think they missed out by cutting her version of "Carolina Rua". These very talented woman are tremendous asset to the music world. Unfortunately, at least in Texas, I cannot afford the $150/$250 tickets they are selling for in the 3 venues (Houston, Grand Prairie and San Antonio). It would've been better to set up the Astrodome or the old Cowboy Stadium and charge less for tix.5If you have any of Celtic Woman dvds, you will want this one at the top! This is my favorite Celtic Woman DVD. The songs selected for this performance are the best. These songs were performed with the feeling and professional polish we have come to expect from Celtic Woman. Both the instrumentals and vocals were outstanding!5A treat for new fans and old.In this lovely new recording, Celtic Woman offers a mix of contemporary covers and traditional folk tunes. Though the group has somewhat mainstreamed its Celtic roots, the satin voices soar as effortlessly as ever; and the lilting fiddles are a delight, as always. Album standouts include the stirring bagpipes and harmonies of "Amazing Grace," the gently weeping fiddle of "The Lost Rose Fantasia," the carefree but driving tempo of "Nil Se'n La" (though "full throttle" seems an anachronistic phrase that pulls me out of the song every time I hear it), and the poignant vocal solo of "Fields of Gold.""When You Believe" is, for me, the weak link in this offering. The vocal is technically flawless yet doesn't fully connect emotionally (all but flatlines in the bridge), especially when compared to the passion of Whitney and Mariah's original version. Also, I'd have liked a bit more energy from the CD overall; "Nil Se'n La" and the instrumental "The Coast of Galicia" stand out as the only really lively tracks. Overall, though, there's plenty here to love. This beautiful, accessible CD is sure to create many new fans of a unique and talented group of vocalists and musicians.4Hauntingly beautifulCeltic Woman's Songs from the Heart was a choice I made after listening to the samples offered. I love this feature! What a treat to hear snippets as a way to choose. I was torn between 3 CDs from these artists. The end result is sheer delight. I listen to it at night while falling asleep - brings a calm and positive close to whatever the day brought forth. If you appreciate lilting sounds, pleasurable lyrics, even some you might not understand, as well as deeply satisfying resonant tones, I recommend you listen to the samples for this CD. The tunes offer a bygone feeling of romance, a far-off quality of fantasy and a genuine "sweetness" that seems to transcend the mundane into the higher sphere of awakening the divine nature of us all.5Deluxe all the way! When deciding whether to get this version or the standard CD, the addition of the two additional tracks and the calendar swayed me. I am glad I did, but the Amazon digital version has two different songs on it ("Carolina Rua" as sung by Lynn Hillary and "Danny Boy" sung by the four women) so I bought the 2 extra MP3s and copied the CD and reburnt it with those two extra tracks (plus others from the Amazon only download). This is a great CD to get, but it still isn't complete. So spend the extra 2 bucks for the additional songs and remake the CD is my advice.Songs From The Heart is a good mix of songs from the Isle of Hope concert tour and the Songs From the Heart concert tour. Songs from the Isle of Hope tour that didn't make it into this CD (and didn't have other versions on previous CDs) are: "Have I Told You Lately" "Carolina Rua" and "True Colors". Songs from the current tour that didn't end up on this CD are: "My Heart Was Home Again" and "Songs from the Heart: Walking The Night/Tabhair Dom Do Lamh". So keep your eyes open for the availability of those in the future (I hope!). The concerts also had new versions of "Orinoco Flow" "Danny Boy" "At The Ceili" "Spanish Lady" and "You Raise Me Up." (The Songs From The Heart tour was also supposed to have "Pie Jesu" and "O, America!" but the venue I went to (Fairfax on March 17th!), didn't have those songs, despite being printed in the program. But maybe we'll get a "Pie Jesu" release in the future also.Regarding the content, after seeing the Isle of Hope concert, I'd have died if "Isle of Hope, Isle of Tears" wasn't on this CD so really, the fact that it was rates 5 stars from me. "Fields of Gold" took a while to grow on me because I loved the Eve Cassidy version, but now I really enjoy this one. "Amazing Grace" is a different arrangement than I am used to, but gorgeous. "Nil Se'n La" was fun and peppy. "My Lagan Love" was available in instrumental form by Mairead through Amazon, and I loved having the word; Lynn's voice is ethereal. "When You Believe" is a little revival-ish for me (as many of Chloe's songs lately have seemed to be) but she really sings the heck out of it. "The New Ground-Isle of Hope" LOVE IT. Favorite song of the CD. "The Coast of Galicia" is an instrumental and while good, watching Mairead play adds an extra oomph that is missing from the recording. "Non C'e Piu" was a lovely group number. "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" really showed off Lisa's ability to emote but keep it beautiful. "You'll Be In My Heart" is my least favorite song; Alex seems to overdrive it and force extra feeling in where none is needed. Plus, I kept hearing Phil Collins sing it. "Goodnight My Angel" was beautiful with Chloe, Lynn, and Lisa. Chloe had another win with "Galway Bay;" her accent really added another dimension to it. "O, America!" was a nice rousing tune, but seems so contrived to appeal to the older generation that makes up a large part of PBS and Celtic Woman's fanbase. "The Call" was available on the Greatest Journey CD but is worth hearing a few dozen more times. The "Finale" was a great way to end the CD. It was upbeat and rousing. In conclusion, this CD was worth the extra cost for the few extra songs and the calendar and to support Celtic Woman, but still incomplete.5I really liked it!, Maybe even better than The Greatest JourneyI have a hard time deciding which Celtic Woman collection is my favorite because I genuinely enjoy them all, even the Chistmas CD which I listen to regardless of the season. But, this performance at Powerscourt House and Gardens has blown me away. I watched nearly every performance on PBS back in December so I readily pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition CD during the holidays. As I anticipated the arrival of Songs From the Heart CD I realized that I really missed seeing the performance and decided at the last minute to order the DVD as well and they both came on Friday!I'm no musician nor do I sing all that well but I know what God given talent sounds like and these ladies have IT. As they like to say on American Idol, these ladies can sing the phone book and I'd feel inspired, uplifted, and blessed to have had the oportunity to experiance their angelic voices! From my perspective, I have nothing negative to report. I would buy this CD again, as well as all of the other Celtic Women CD's. I'm a die-hard fan in the deep south USA! Hopefully these ladies will enjoy a long career and continue to bless us with their gift of song. Rest assured, I'll keep buying it.5
