    NOT MADE IN USA, AS CLAIMED The product description and blister-card say : "Made in USA."See the little American flag at the bottom right on the product package?Guess what? The pen inside is stamped "MADE IN CHINA." 2Great nib holder for Spencerian! I am really pleased with this little set, it's quite nice for the cost. I am learning Spencerian script and the oblique holder completely changed my style (I was using a straight nib holder). The included nibs are for "fine" writing and my ink flowed smoothly in them. 5Scratchy tipsThe oblique pen itself is nice and comfortable to hold but the nibs that come with it are terrible. They are scratchy on every type of paper used and therefore do not write smoothly at all.2Not sturdyI am very disappointed in this product it s not what I expected for the price that I paid for it even though it s not an expensive product it was enough to cause me pause when I got it I m not happy with it so I would not recommend this pen for anybody!1Earlier review title: 0 stars...I hate hate hate the nibs. Trying to decide if it is worth the hassle of returning it.3Not the best quality oblique pen I've usedNot the best quality oblique pen I've used, the plastic quality is evident for sure. The angle can be weird where the nib is held at the end and I have to rearrange it a lot to get the look I want from lettering. However, it gets the job done for practicing calligraphy and I appreciated the six different nibs that are included.4My favorite, but NOT FOR BEGINNERSFirst of all, I need to say that if you are a beginner, you WILL struggle with this set. You could use the oblique holder no problem, but the nibs are not meant for beginners. That being said, this is my absolute favorite set. the 101 nibs are my most used nib (also love the Leonardt EF), and I can't get enough of them. That being said, the first time I ever tried them I really struggled (as do most beginners). If the nib is scratching the page and ink is splattering everywhere, that is not the nibs fault, but you just don't have the technique down well enough to be using these. I know some people prefer for expensive holders, but this oblique pen works just fine for me, and I saw the expensive holders for the nibs that don't fit in standard holders.For the nibs, I definitely use the 101 the most. It creates think downstrokes and very thin hairlines. The other nib (I believe its a 103) I don't use as often, but it certainly allows you to create tiny writing (I just don't have as much of a need for). As any experienced user will know, make sure to clean the nibs off well for oils. If you have not used nibs before, you will NEED to cleans the nibs off well before. I typically will spend about 2 minutes straight rubbing the nib with acetone using a q-tip (lightly so fibers don't get caught).5Great nib selectionGreat nib selection. Many professional calligraphers do not recommend the plastic oblique holder due to its lack of adjusting the nib up further into the holder when switching to different nibs. If you need an oblique holder and already have nibs, I suggest getting something else.3Can see ink as it is being placed.good angle.5
