    Good hooks - you get what you pay for...When I came back to crochet I needed some different hooks than what I had on hand and purchased a set that came with a case from Amazon. While there is nothing wrong with those hooks per se I needed some inline hooks and what came in the set was offset hooks. The Susan Bates (SB) brand was the only thing I could find on Amazon that said they were inline hooks so I purchased two sets in different sizes.In the description of the SB hooks it says that the hooks are "polished for extra smoothness". I thought that might be a little over the top. To me anodizing the hooks was just anodizing and that they would all be the same. WRONG! I tried one of these hooks and another hook using the same yarn. I have to say, there is a difference. The hook SET that I purchased separate from the SB hooks was not anodized (that is what gives the hooks the different colors) and the SB hooks are. And, whether it is the polishing or the anodizing that makes the difference I don't know. But the yarn does slide over the SB hook much more easily than it does on the non-anodized hooks.I definitely will opt for the SB hooks in the future when I need to purchase something different! They are inline and the hook is VERY smooth making working with yarn much easier!5My favorite hooks!I needed a C2 2.75mm hook for my current project. I could only find the Boyle brand hooks in that size in the stores, but my Boyle hooks always catch on my work and are very frustrating to use. These Susan Bates hooks are wonderful! They glide easily as you use them and hold the loops securely without catching on surrounding stitches. The only negative is that the hooks are very thin and can be challenging to hold for long periods of time, but that would be the case for hooks this size in any brand unless they have large handles for easier gripping.5Comfortable Hooks for your crotchet projects! I love these hooks, Boye hooks are my favorite because they are comfortable in the hand, and do not split the yarn due to the rounded head. I purchased these to complete my set of hooks. These hooks are on the smaller size and work well with baby yarn or crochet cotton. The price was fantastic for these hooks, in the stores you pay alot for just 1 hook. Purchase these hooks to make a set, or to try out some smaller, lighter projects. You will not be disappointed! 5Love Susan Bates hooksI'be always been a fan of Susan Bates. Have tried other brands and am always disappointed So got these to crochet baby booties and again I am happy with the feel of these hooks.5My favorite brandI have been crocheting for years with whatever brand of hook, never thinking there was a difference. After I bought one of these I could see how much better they were. The yarn is smoother when making stitches and the yarn stays on the hook better. Her style makes crocheting so much easier because of the low profile hook. I don't snag my stitches with these style needles. These have almost a flush hook so it only grabs the yarn being pulled through without getting caught on the work as it s being drawn through... other brands hooks are rounder on top making it more difficult to push through and also are larger on the hook making it take longer to wiggle the hook through. These are my favorite style/brand of hooks.5Great implement for threading plant wicks I use these to thread wicks into my plants for water. Perfect size to punch through soil. Could use a slightly larger hook for my odd purposes. 4Thought I'd like them more. Much prefer tapered hooksPurchased these to trial in-line crochet hooks in Amigurumi sizes.They are made in Malaysia and seem sturdy enough; however the inner edges are just a tad overly sharp round the curve, which catches on yarn so one must be careful.Arne & Carlos did a review on PRYM Crochet hooks recently, in which both discussed pitfalls of sharpness when retracting needle during pull-through. I own Pryms too and they are way better - super smooth.Nevertheless, these are decent & feather- weight cute, if a little disappointing.Am sticking with my trusty Tulip hooks.4Susan Bates crochet hooksSusan Bates crochet hooks are far better to crochet with. I have used others where the yarn splits frequently. Just started using ergonomic crochet hooks but have used these for over 40 years. Just finished my complete set. The tips on these are superior to Boyer tapered tips and help with speed.4
